I think you bring up a lot of good points about life and therapy, Bri. What I've learned is that as I get older (i'm 32), life gets harder. Things happen - people get sick, we lose loved ones, daily stressors get us down but we also have to make sure we are taking care of ourselves and relationships while all of this is happening. It's easy to not prioritize our relationships but if we let everything take ahold of us, we can lose those relationships. Thanks for bringing this to our attention! 😀

Thank you for being so open about the marriage counseling. This year will be 15 years of marriage and 17 spent with my husband. Our children are teen and pre teen and we've found that although we have more time now, that habit of not having time is deeply rooted. We've set some bad habits of putting so many things ahead of us. Also that whole thing about not setting boundaries, girl you really hit home there. Please keep sharing what you can. ❤ You are not alone! We are doing this, and focusing on us. Self care is happening, as well as relationship care.

It’s so brave of you to share. It’s so easy to see someone on TH-cam and think everything is perfect. Marriage is challenging and no one’s is perfect. Thank you for being vulnerable.

  • @sammyrei295
    @sammyrei295 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

I’m so proud of you for talking about couples therapy it’s really nice that your honest with that when a lot of the time social media TH-cam etc leads you to think everything’s perfect for people you see but this reminds me that’s not always true and that is so relatable and inspiring. Even if there’s is not a major problem in a relationship it is so helpful and healthy to do therapy to be stronger and even more there for each other! So so wonderful. Thank you!
My kids are 5 and 1 and I hear you on the season of life with little ones. I’m a sahm and it’s like constant life maintenance sometimes cleaning cooking cleaning again etc and it’s hard to take time to hear one another and to not be too tired or too busy to focus on each other.

Brianna K I’ve been seeing a therapist for one year now and it was the best gift I could have given myself it is so helpful and I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t benefit from it I’m so glad your finding yours helpful and now with your husband too I’m sure it will bring you even closer, my husband and I just had our 10 year wedding anniversary and it so good to do what you are doing to keep connecting through life’s changes and growing! And yes not just complaining about being tired or how work is or only talking about the kids, it’s tough! You are so uplifting to watch though don’t forget how much you being you helps others your amazing❤️

No relationship is perfect and with kids it gets tough along with Medical issues. Bri I’m praying for you my sister. Couples therapy is a blessing as God wants us to cast our cares and not hold it all in; likewise for your husband and want he is experiencing. Live life and make you happy; don’t worry about what outsiders think. Btw I can relate

That's great that you and Adam are doing couple's therapy. We've been going regularly for several years, and it makes a huge difference for us! I really appreciate it when TH-camrs talk about therapy (couple's or individual), because it helps normalize it, which is so badly needed!

Brianna, this brought me to tears. I find myself agreeing with so much of what you are saying here. My husband and I have been going through therapy as well and I also have not always been good a setting boundaries in friendships and relationships even those with close family or friends. It sounds like you have a great therapist, I am glad you guys are talking to someone. It helps so much! Prayers!!!

  • @lj3014

your very sweet and yes kids, work stress and the past disappointments can put alot of strain on a marriage. I dont think councelling is necessarily bad but I do think it should only be used for a short while. My experiences, it only keeps rehashing and bringing up past hurts and wrongs and people can not put the past behind them, forgive and forget. It takes alot of hard work to keep a marriage healthy and together. I think discussing your conerns with your partner is whats needed and hopefully your partner can take it on board and try to see these things through your eyes and vice versa. Being kind, caring and nurturing to eachother sometimes goes to the wayside as we are all tired, stressed and disconnected at times. We all go through rough patches in a relationship but as my father told me, 'be swift to forgive and forget' has helped me tremendously in my marriage. Not dwell on the little things that dont matter. Love is the most important thing in life and so focusing on their strengths and good points instead of their failings is so important. Also, somethings you want your partner to understand will sometimes just take time, so we need to be patient and loving in the meantime. You are a strong, beautiful and smart women. Never forget that.

I love how positive you are and I am so glad to have found you. I have had the worst struggle with depression (last year mainly- worst year of my life) and the second I made the choice to start TH-cam was the second that I started feeling like I was worthy of something. I owe a lot of thanks to you. You’ve truly shown me that life is tough, but to never give up. 💗

Bri, I just want to give you a hug! I so related to everything you were saying. Being a stay at home mom is so tough. Mostly in emotional ways. You feel empty, and mommy guilt endlessly. There's so much to do, but it's all sort of "meaningless". It's hard to work jobs too, but being a stay at home mom is hard in its on right. Thanks for sharing and being so open, because it's all real life, and so relatable!

Thank you so much for sharing! This phase in life is definitely a challenge when it comes to a relationship to your spouse. I have a 9 month old, and I am still adjusting to this new role, and the "shift" it has put on my relationship with my husband. It is something that I'm currently struggling with... It is SO easy to become complacent and forget to pour into your marriage. Being proactive in your marriage is the best thing you can do for you and your kids!

So, I cried with tears of pure joy watching you put the down for a nap! Such a sweet moment, and yet bitter sweet. My youngest just turned 21😞. Cherish every moment, it all goes so quick! And as far as relationships, today is our 27th anniversary....and we both forgot, lol! It doesn't matter, every day is an anniversary! We are still here, and " The kid's are all right"!

But watching your videos is comforting and honestly brings me right back to that time in my life when my days were like yours. Super busy!! I was drawn to how real you seemed and seeing this video when you shared that you’re in couples counseling, completely reinforced that! My husband and I have struggled through the years and still continue to do so sometimes. I so appreciate your honesty and realness. I think you will help a lot of women. Thank you!❤️

I heard of this ideal to do everyweek with your husband.
    Its called roses and thorns.
You ask the opposite partner what was there rose of the week = the peek of the week. & then thorn what was your low of the week.
Also. Ask 3 questions to eachother
    1. What is one specific way i can help you this week?
2.is there any unconfest sin, conflict or hurt and that we need to resolve and/or seek forgiveness for?
3.what is a dream, craving or desire that has been on the forefront of your mind?
4.how can i pray for you this week?
This will build so much communication and keep both on the same page it also builds great teamwork...like you said where you keep stuff in i think this would be perfect for you and hubby. Give it a go! (make sure your consistent with it)

Couples therapy has helped my husband and i so much. Just connecting with each other, compromise, and just empathizing with each other. Helping us both to understand how different we are and ways to learn how to accept it. We have two young kiddos as well and it’s so hard to make time for everything. Sessions are rough and i cry most times but it really has helped us. Good luck!❤️

I LOVE that you opened up about couples therapy. I think most people are "ashamed" or "embarrassed" to admit that their marriage isn't perfect or has rough patches, especially those with a large platform.. but it's just REAL LIFE. Couples therapy isn't just for a marriage that is crumbling apart and on the verge of divorce, it's to be equipped when the hard times DO come.. because they will come. Thanks mama. Love the realness. Maybe a marriage series on the second channel someday?!

Loved this. This week my husband and I have been talking about making time for us. We have a 3 year old boy and 7 month old baby boy. Things are super hectic and tiring duringlg the week so we have decided to make atleast 2 dates a months. It is very necessary to keep that spark going on. Thanks for sharing your life with all of us.

Wow thanks so much for sharing this with us. And that is some sage relationship advice. Boundaries are important and they should be respected no matter what. I hope you get everything you need out of your couples’ therapy 💕
You’re doing a great job and it shows.

Bri, I am glad you are in couples therapy. I see how very hard you work to keep everything going in you family. It’s necessary to take up slack for our spouse at times, but not all the time. The more they see you can keep it going alone, over time they will let you and resentment grows, respect is lost. I hope as your husband gets better he will help you more, be more of a teammate.

Love watching your videos! I work in HR for a college here in Canada and so I really resinated with your videos when you were working your HR role. I was struggling to find that working (outside of home) mom balance at the time and so appreciated your realness and organization! Lol motivated me to get my stuff together. I’m now on mat leave with my second baby and living the stay at home/work at home mom life now too for the next year. Love the positivity and look forward to your videos each time 😊

Just wanted to share this verse with you. Matthew 6: 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Seek God through prayer, reading, fasting, worship and God will come through for you and your marriage. Whatever pains you both are having God can heal that. This is why he commands us to seek him and he will supply our needs (emotional or physical or spiritual etc). Seek him first and you will find all the healing you are searching for through counselors.

Here is some additional scripture that says to cast burdens on him. He is there to answer your prayer. But you got to ask for that healing! Proverbs 12:25 Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad. 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
God always convicts us of our own personal behaviors and how we treat others. We have to heal within ourselves. As the scripture says look at the plank in your own eye. We all have burdens that need to be dealt with and we need to hold ourselves accountable and stop blaming others for their sin. I am guilty of this and have recently been learning to deal with my problems first. Always. Can’t blame my husband or friends or family for my own insecurities and issues. That’s why I pray for Healing and cast my burdens on God. He will work it all out for our good. Hope this helps.

Amen! At the end of the day, God is a healer of all things. I have seen many of youtubers say so much of stuff, but......honestly don't mention anything about seeking God through their trials and tribulations. As believers our struggles should bring us closer to Christ......If infact we are diligently seeking God. The bible tells us. God will not put more on us than we can bare. Thank you for pointing her right to Christ. Have a blessed day!

Both Landon & Presley helping you take the clothes out of the basket was hilarious. I love Landons cars decor in his room. Adam singing to Presley was super cute. Those new chairs are pretty. Great vlog as always. Thanks for sharing with us!

Omg that was my favorite. I love it. Life is so short and honesty God knew wanted you needed. Love from our babies at the right time eases anything you are going through. You remind of myself and how busy you are except my husband is a minister over a congregation. I’m praying for you Bri.

Unexpectedly crying on that. My heart hurts for Adam so much. After my car accident the drs visits have become a full time job and taken on another life of their own and it's awful for my husband as well...and the lack of Drs suck. My accident was in June and I don't see a surgeon till March...it's a nightmare. But also your part about the boundaries with even friends...just speaking to my soul girl...to👏my👏soul

Iv been considering couples therapy for my husband and myself. We have so much going on between all the kids and we both work 40+hrs a week. We get about an hr at night to ourselves and most of the time he’s headed to bed causes he gets up an hr before me. I know he’s going through a lot with his custody battle and it’s pulling us apart. That what we fight about. We’ve been together almost 3 years and married for 6months.
Thank you for being open it helps. Us moms have to stick together❤️
