    This comment is probably going to sound stupid, but I record a few seconds of myself doing overtone singing. If I drop that in a sampler, I can emulate most of what the Instruo Arbhar does by going to Textures mode and firing a bunch of rapid gates at the sampler with a touch of random pitch modulation. This creates a kind of buzzing I like where the overtones are doing a kind of secret singing. I use this as a backdrop because it's fine with me if my song is basically one note or one chord.

    my workflow - i create clips in the clip launcher which encourages me to try different bar lengths etc. then i create a sketch arrangement in the clip launcher, as it´s much easier to get a bird´s eye overview of the entire arrangement, it´s easier to move clips around to experiment with the arrangement, find out what works... once i am happy with it, i bring everything into the arranger window and fine tune, create transitions, automation etc. btw working in the clip launcher is thanks to one of your videos from a couple years back, so thank you so much

    Wow! I'm discovering that Modulating that Note Length parameter in the Transport module ... especially with Steps modulator set to about half the global Tempo ( I have mine set to 126) can really get some lovely syncopated rolls and snaps... Like a good tap dancer! Rhythmacally switching between 8th, 16th and 32nds.... I could listen to that all night!

      Yea! the transport module is quite handy for this type of stuff.

    for interesting sounds, vital's spectral phaser with the growing oscillations stock lfo makes really interesting sounds, and then combine some of that (or another complex lfo) with other stuff, and then sample a note, stretch it, process it, stretch it, process it, etc, and eventually pitch it up until its just about at the highest note that keeps most of the harmonics, and sample that pitched down

    • @PolarityMusic
      @PolarityMusic  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      have you tried freq-split by Bitwig and use it as a spectral phaser?

    • @morgan0
      @morgan0 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PolarityMusic i don’t own bitwig

    • @morgan0
      @morgan0 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      vital’s spectral phaser basically uses the lfo to set the amplitude of each bin, and then slides that along using the control. i’m sure doing it on audio rather than on a wavetable would be cool, though multiple notes with vital’s can overlap and each be in a different spot

    Hmm, am I wrong..I don't think those samples were normalised individually by the process, it looks as though it processed as if it was one contiguous sample? Or was that how it was supposed to be?

    • @PolarityMusic
      @PolarityMusic  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      you're probably right, it used all clips to take the average :(

    Simple Arppegiatorprogression into "Humanizer" and then change the "Chance"

    Here in the US, Triton is $249 so I probably won't be getting that... So I though I would try a few Soft sampers I happen to have... but I'm a little confused a bit about the process in this video... I tried Komplete - there is a ton! of samples to choose from... But the problem I have is this: Each sample has to be selected and takes time to Load.. So in Komplete the note Plays, but if I choose a different sound as each bar rolls around, It abruptly ends the sample that is currently playing and loads the next sound I choose - which doesn't make a very good recording succession of sounds because the audio track just picks up the abrupt ending of a sample before it can trigger the next one I choose before the 1 bar loop repeats.! Is Komplete just a bad sampler to use for this technique?

      In case it got lost in the video, I don't own Triton either. I'm using the free demo version in the video. It stops after 20 minutes, but that's enough time to sample a few sounds. And yes, you do need a synth or instrument that can switch presets quickly, or you'll have to think of another way to sample different presets quickly.

      @@PolarityMusic Yeah.. that seems to be flaw in Komplete (I think because it's not just samples but other NI instruments. Same limitation applies to Kontakt. Great sampler - but it's ... errr ..getting long in the tooth... to put it mildly... I think all samplers should be able to route a MIDI input into its browser. I also tried using Battery too. It makes sense if you want to have a loop running but try diffirent samples. Massive X did work though, Haven't touched that in eons!

      Can you not just leave longer gaps between the midi notes and then automate the synth program changes along one long midi clip? Would save a lot of clicking whilst recording too......

  • @delphisignal

    When you drug the samples into sampler, it doesn't look like it auto assigned them to keys. Mine assigned each sample to a different key. Am I missing a step?
