Came here for Power over Ethernet, left with a charming presentation of Paths of Exile.
I legit used to get confused by the game's name because of this acronym, as I used it on a daily basis and didn't know of this game yet. People were comparing Diablo to PoE and my first reaction was "I'm sorry, what? How those two things connected?"

Because people that play poe probably know Jonathan, but they do not know Josh. This is primaily focused on PoE2 not on Josh, so they are there for Jonathan.

Yeah, I tried watching the VoD on the twitch app and it's such a buggy mess. Even when I finally got it running I could barely hear anything because twitch has such a wierdly low default audio that turning it to max wasn't loud enough.
It's easy to dump new features into something. It's much more difficult to take out everything that shouldn't have been added in the first place.
Jonathan has nothing to worry about, whether the game is good or bad we will complain about it.

yeah when you start out as kinda random guy that maybe gone the next day for a while. and when you look around you are the top 10 experience worker in that space is kinda weird.
It's actually kind of terrifying when you wrap up the farewell party for your senior at work, then realize "wait a minute, there's only a couple people left who've been here longer than me."
It could mean one of three things: the churn is worse than you thought it was, and you're next. You're actually a great fit and perfect for the place, but now there's only people you trained left to bounce things off of. And the third option, that's how time works buddy.

Okay him saying that the down side of being experienced at this is you can see everything bad with other games and lowers your enjoyment of them justifys that sane exact feeling I started to get when studying game design and makes me glad I did not go into it for work (excluding having the head of crytek saying crunch time was expected of you which is illegal in the UK)
Took me ages to shake the feeling, and I was just a student hate to think how bad that would have got, especially nowadays.

"Yet another" is so melodramatic honestly, 10/10 a true shakespeare piece, Reddit xD Only one's I can think of are DarthMTX and Wudiju because they only recently dove into PoE because of D4. Preach plays PoE since '21, Tri's played for a tad longer than myself I believe and I started in Legion, he just didn't create content for the longest time. Ziz, Raiz, Ziggy, Nugi are so baked into the community they don't even need explaining. I can't recall any other interviewers so that would make Josh the third person they interview that doesn't have a longterm PoE addiction (yet) out of 9 total. Considering PoE2 needs a new audience I'd say that is on the low end.

i understood the title as a sarcastic joke that its just a interview with lots of interviews out there on youtube (like him talking to chris wilson like a year ago) with jonathan being the "total random guy" and the topic being absolutely "unrelated to poe"
@@failnervni no, it was in response to (a direct quote, actually) of people on the PoE forums complaining about the PoE devs doing interviews with "random guys." JSH is the random guy in this, not the PoE dev. He goes over it in the first section of this clip.

"Seeing when things are bad" is one of the biggest reasons why I find it hard to enjoy a lot of games these days, and I think it's a skill you develop after playing a lot of different video games

I tried looking up but couldn't find a release date/month for PoE2, have they announced yet? This type of interviews makes me think it's close enough to know when
Think they said closed beta is planned this summer, if they play it like they did with PoE 1. They will do invites, but allow people to buy into it, and treat closed beta as a soft release of the game, with no wipe. No worry of being behind when it leaves closed beta because of leagues.
I don't know if that is the plan this time though, just guessing.

@@Odyssey636 a game for everybody isn't inherently casual. A game for everybody means a game where people want to enjoy playing the game actively, not just planning the game and pulling a slot machine lever over and over which is what poe 1 is.
As quoted "poe 1 gameplay is garbage". They specifically stated one of there numerous goals was to fix this. Every person I have had try the game that quit did it because playing the game wasn't enjoyable, combat felt clunky, and they couldn't get through the tax of playing the horrible gameplay just to get some enjoyment on promises based on unearned trust.
