Previously marathi movies were way ahead in terms of contents like Natrang, Sairat, Shala, Harishchandrachi Factory, Shwas, Jogwa, etc but nowadays they are just making double meaning movies like Boys, Takatak, etc.

Most of the audience come to theatre to watch action oriented movies which are made for big screens with big budget
Whereas Marathi cinema mostly revolves around rural backdrop, historical, comedy family entertainer, etc (most of the stories based in Mumbai and Pune)
Ashok Saraf told in a interview that Marathi cinema don't have star face to grab audience to theatre like others. It just has artists (mostly from theatre) and movie run with content
Movies don't even get dubbed and released in other languages
Promotion of the movie also lacks from movie team
No one is ready to invest in Marathi movie due to lack of belief whether the movie will recover it's budget or not

There are no big star in marathi industry right now...some actors like swapnil joshi,shreyas talpade,ankush,subodh bhave all work in TV serials and reality show..thats why there is no craze in public to go and watch them in theaters

Its because one group of people deliberately made marathi movies in the same criteria of language style, surnames n culture. They deliberately portrayed other language styles as " Cheap "

This is completely flawed reason. Just because someone doesn't like some types of movies calling industry is dominated by someone is wrong. Earlier marathi industry was dominated by comedy, later it started producing more thought provoking movies, again comedy cane back, but thought provoking urban movies remained because they have constant audience. Other movies audience wasn't constant. It was mainly remained for some time then vanished. Nagraj manjule like director came promising but then they shifted to hindi and failed. So one type of movies which have some audience those remain consistent. But people have problem with that as well. Only some people stayed creating movies that's why they seem dominant, other got famous either left for hindi or later just made movies which are not great in content. Many marathi movies gets released so this explanation is flawed. Many marathi people watch south but no one try to create movies like south with that technology then obviously it is not going to make wonder automatically.

@ddnick you felt salad because you didn't get it. I wrote the same thing... the movies which get a consistent audience keep running. Some people come to create something different but even after getting success they leave for Hindi. Then who will remain? Obviously, those who are consistently creating movies and have a consistent audience.
It's not like only one type of movie is getting created.
Only one type of good movie is constantly created but that's not the issue. If someone else doesn't want to create movies in Marathi, that's the issue.

I am not from Maharastra nor Marathi. As an outsider, I think there is big overshadow of "Bollywood", split-loyalty the people involved in movie business. Even though Maharastra has a state language "marathi", most people know "hindi". Same thing applies to Rajasthan and Punjab. From the Bollywood perspective, there is no need to "spend money" to release other languages. Growth of Marathi movies is threat to Bollywood, why would they kill their own market. For comparison look south states, the movie industries that doesn't conflict with others, grew independently. Telugu had same problem with Tamil movie industry (somewhat not exactly similar to Marathi with Hindi, audience were different) before 1990 as both were based in Chennai. After Telugu industry moved to Hyderabad, it grew separately. May be, Marathi movie industry move to Nagpur or some other city away from Bollywood (Mumbai) so it can grow. Otherwise conflict of interest wouldn't let it grow, might end up as Bhojpuri industry. Hoping a second center for Hindi movies in UP/Delhi would give some breathing space for other North Indian language movies.
Also remember, you (and other Marathi youtubers) are making content in Hindi to reach wider audience and not in Marathi. What would people who are spending money going to prioritize. Based on what I have seen Marathi people are very proud about culture(they should be), it should also reflect in action about watching movies.

2010s mein Natrang, Harishchandrachi factory Balgandharva, Deool, Anumati, Dr. Prakash Amte, Lokmanya ek yugpurush, Katyar Kaljat Ghusali, Sairat, Baapjanma, Ubuntu, Gulabjaam, Lathe Joshi, Cycle, Anandi Gopal etc. were one of th films that defined 2010s. Par ab 2020s bekar hai. Wahiyad filmei ban rahi hai. Problem is there on both sides. Marathi artists dont support their own artists. Plus domination by Hindi film industry . Then bootlicking of Hindi film industry. Isiliye aage nahi badh rahi hai. South ko dekho, hindi mei kaam karne ke baad bhi, independant identity hai unki. Ye cheeze agar badle to Marathi cinema aage badhega aur international level pe chalengi.

My perspective - BRAHMINS(also Jain's ,parsis )usually adopt to the situation real quick ...they are open minded so they don't hold restrictions on there womens, there daughter can work without any restriction and bramhin family will support them ...and on the other hand our people are more inclined to the political hate ignited by politicians fir vote bank 😟
BRAHMINS stand in unity and also keep the balance between sanskars and modern lifestyle...whereas we still tend to follow politicial propaganda 🙂
We are given a community to hate( brahmins(3-4 percent of population 🙂)) by politicians for there benifit and some people really fall for it
We should inculcate the reason for there growth despite being hated in modern times
