That's a fact. He was excellent on vox and base live. I'll never forget seeing Cave In and Converge at the Epicentre in San Diego sometime in '04 and being blown away by Caleb's sound and voice during this song. Instant fan from that moment. I'd heard and liked Cave In before that, but they were especially powerful live.
I've watched this video many times over the years because of how great the performance is, Caleb's performance being especially powerful, but it's really tough to watch it right now. R.I.P. Caleb Scofield.
This was my first festival at age 13. I was waiting for the punk bands to start playing (sick lineup that year at the Concrete Jungle stage) when suddenly I heard the most INTENSE scream ever from the Main Stage..Out of my heavy-music loving instinct I rushed over to catch Boston's own Cave In and was mesmerized by Caleb's performance, powerfull, stylish, killed it! These guys are one of hardcore's most innovative bands and Caleb 's epic Reading performance always stayed with me. Thank you so much for uploading this video...given recent unfortunate events, its more vital than ever to keep it up. Rest in peace brother, gone too soon.
RIP Caleb. He was a super sweet dude. Chatted with him for a while at their merch table many years ago, and he was just a wonderful guy. I'm pretty sure he'd never met a stranger. He will be very missed.
I'm not familiar with thus band but I just read that one of their brothers died in a horrible car accident,my sympathies to the band and their families, r.I.p bro \M/
I’d love to have been there for the Kerr and kids who only knew them for “anchor” or the antenna album and then cave in blast into the early stuff and people are like “woah wtf?!!” Probably split the crowd…good..
"You are what you weep, from your head down to the sleet. Fell, tripped up the stairs to a place void in all hints of home. Watch with your heart, run with your gut." My favourite set of lyrics from this song. Caleb had one of the most intense screams, ever. I watch this performance every now and then. And, I get a little choked up
I remember watching this set at the festival, i'd seen Cave-in earlier in the year at the Astoria supporting Idlewild and they made an impression on me. Its so sad what happened to Caleb, I hope his family know how much of an impact he had on people around the world.
Very sad news. Caleb and i had the same age. I saw Cave In for a show in France 15 years ago, it was one of the best show i ever had. Caleb dedicated me Jupiter. He was an amazing screamer. RIP from France.
every time some young hipster suggests i listen to some cool heavy new band i tell them to go back to 1998 and listen to until your heart stops. nothing will sound as good. sorry i ruined your ear holes.
as a huge fan and creator of modern hardcore and metal, and someone who loved jupiter and awaited antenna with baited breath to not be disappointed, I oddly could never get into cave-in's hardcore... Not totally sure why that is.
None of my students play instruments. It ain't localized either. Asked a couple buddies to poll their kids too...different states. Similar results. It worries me that there will come a time where bands like this are scarce and we're inundated with impersonal music...masquerading as personal all the time. Discovered Old Man Gloom will continue with Steve Brodsky on bass and some vox. If you don't know the band, check them out. It's basically Converge, Cave In and Isis. Caleb does most of the singing and all the bass work. I really miss him. I'm gonna miss Cave In but I don't think Steve can continue. They're all lifelong pals.
Can anyone tell me what guitar Stephen Brodsky uses? I know Nate from Doomriders/Old Man Gloom/Converge(except he plays bass in Converge) uses a similar guitar only it's red.
UYHS was recorded right after a lineup change, and a lot of the band’s chemistry really developed later. The fact that the album is still as good as it is really speaks to the raw talent and good ideas of those involved.
RIP Caleb. one of the most powerful screaming voices ever

his scream is unmatched.
Dude you should do some bass covers in his honour.
Caleb is fucking owning this gig. Rip dude 😢
Watching it for 86th time.
r.i.p. caleb. it's not easy watching this tonight.
fucking right.... it's hurt...
I cried, and I don't cry. RIP Caleb. Fucking amazing bassist
Still probably the best video on TH-cam.

Thank you...Miss you Caleb
Cave In is one of the most under rated bands ever. They were musical GODS at only 15 and 16 and still wrote great music after.
We already miss you Caleb. Thanks for everything. RIP
You're here because you know this is the best.
I’ve lost count how many times a week I’ve been watching this video for the past few months
RIP Caleb. He was a super sweet dude. Chatted with him for a while at their merch table many years ago, and he was just a wonderful guy. I'm pretty sure he'd never met a stranger. He will be very missed.
Caleb was such a powerful performer. RIP.
Rest In Power Caleb.
Best snarl in the business
4:00 my all time favorite riff
Loved your intensity Caleb! R.I.P. brother!
This band has balls of steel - the best dudes forever
New album rocks
I'm not familiar with thus band but I just read that one of their brothers died in a horrible car accident,my sympathies to the band and their families, r.I.p bro \M/
the only heavy band I can still enjoy when the melodic singing starts.
Its amazing how modern metalcore has tried to rip off cave in's heavy/light mechanics but has failed miserably.
RIP Caleb. What a wonderful thing to have been involved in during his life. Countless times
Thank You Caleb
i was there¬!!! and i was lucky enough to meet the band right after this performance..really nice guys!! RIP Caleb
Your voice and energy Caleb gave me so much strength ❤️rip

I was there and shook all of their hands at the the signing tent after they come off stage. RIPCaleb
I’d love to have been there for the Kerr and kids who only knew them for “anchor” or the antenna album and then cave in blast into the early stuff and people are like “woah wtf?!!” Probably split the crowd…good..

@@itsMrNoble
Idlewild.
Next Level RIP Caleb
Just discovered this band only to find our that their bass player has just died.
Rest in peace
Caleb is great in this. And not just his vocals, the bass is really pronounced, like this is his own track. His art will live on.
#RIPCaleb
The breakdown is god damn pick scratches uuuuugggghhhhhhh so fucking good
Force of nature. What a legacy.
Finally seeing this band again on 26/10/2022. I would love it if Caleb was still with us. RIP you absolute dude!
Love This Guy... Love CAVE IN...
R.I.P Caleb
Oh shit, Limp Bizkit live tonight!!! CANT MISS THAT...
That one guitarist is identical to Robert De Niro. Somebody else has got to notice!
Very sad news.
Caleb and i had the same age.
I saw Cave In for a show in France 15 years ago, it was one of the best show i ever had.
Caleb dedicated me Jupiter.
He was an amazing screamer.
RIP from France.

best live video
10 sad people voted 👎 on this amazing performance, I don’t get them..at all
This world is so much poorer without Caleb. Why'd he have to go? :( RIP
Seriously this is sad story. Rip caleb
awesome
Sleep well Caleb
Dirty vocals and bass playing; this performance is absolutely crucial.
Also, what was it about the Reading Festival that facilitated all these excellent shows?
Caleb was the man ❤

Nice Mastodon shirt :P
Can anyone tell me what guitar Stephen Brodsky uses? I know Nate from Doomriders/Old Man Gloom/Converge(except he plays bass in Converge) uses a similar guitar only it's red.
Brodsky always rocks a Harmony.
That black guitar is a guild
@evanisgay11 Guild Bluesbird. Kinda like Guild's version of a Les Paul
am i the only one who thinks the production on the studio version isn't that great and that this live version really does the song justice?
@MILITO SIMON noice
