    cheers mate for checking this one out and also putting features and such into context, a lot of information to chew on for a beginner like me
    just watched another video on this charger and the reviewer had either extremely bad luck with 4 out of 5 brekaing or already broken, or the manufacturer needs to work out some kinks, before this it will be reliable

      I can't speak to that reviewer. I asked RaceDayQuads whether they had any issues with failure rate, complaints, and returns, and they said nothing out of the ordinary. If these were failing left and right, I think RDQ would stop selling them. RDQ has sold hundreds or more of these. That's a better sample than one reviewer who nobody can figure out why his units died.

    The 52W via your USB-C Supply make sense I think It has to boost the 20V up from the USB-C and such regulators often have an efficiency of about 80%.

      any idea how to get it to work or did i just get a defective unit. my DJI charger says DC in too high (which was a surprise i was thinking it'd be low if the printing on the DJI wall wort is to be trusted)) but every other usb wall wort, port, cable, etc didn't even have enough umph to turn the damn thing on. Plugging a battery in the input side seems to power it on no issue but that doesn't exactly leave me with much of anything other than an expensive battery checker.

    My charger setup is two power supplies connected to 4 isdt nano q6. But all my chargers lost their ability to balance charge because all the Q6's cell one balancing breaks for some reason. Literally just last week I placed a Banggood order for 2 ToolkitRc M6D's. Still for bang for buck toolkitrc was a better buy. Just hope it's a good quality charger.

    I bought two since it looks awesome, but already found an annoying bug which is completely a software bug. I use this with a LIPO as power source so I set the cut-off to 14.5V, but I also use it as a desktop charger with a 12V PSU, if I go from a LIPO to the 12V PSU It get's stuck on the cutoff error and you can't even acknowledge the error to continue to the menu and lower the cutoff voltage, you have to go back to a lipo or another higher than 14.5V power source to go into the menu, it's super annoying. It means if you're out and about and accidently set your cutoff voltage to higher than what you have on hand, you could potentially have a bricked charger with you until you get home. Disappointed no one though of that simple scenario.

    The original B6 for me was the only charger that didn't have correct safety checks and almost resulted in a battery fire (it let me charge a 3s pack at 4s voltage even though the balance plug was plugged in). It also died quite quickly. I wouldn't trust skyrc, especially when there are more reputable ones for a similar price (e.g. isdt q6 nano).
    Also the USB C functionality can be replicated on any charger by buying a PD trigger board (preferably 20v if your PSU supports it) and soldering on an xt60. Admittedly, it is extra work and more manufacturers should build in this functionality.

    2:00 I honestly don't think it is a good idea to recommend people to overcharge their lipos, even if it's just 10mV. You are not going to get any significant amount of additional energy into it, and let's be honest: calibration accuracy of devices like these is usually within ~100mV, and I'd absolutely prefer my device to undercharge by 100mV than it is to overcharge, and any recommendation to overcharge even by only 10mV is more likely asking for trouble than it is going to bring in terms of more energy stored in your Lipo. Packs will usually drop back to below 4.2V quickly, but that really does not mean compensating your charge is a good idea by any means. It's really not a recommendation I'd dare to make.

    • @xgofpv4565

      wtf are you talking about? a fully charged lipo is 4.2 volts. he saying set the charger to 4.21 so after the voltage sags after charging it settles to a fully charge 4.2.

    I think this may be replacing my old isdt q6 pro. The scroll wheel has been starting to fail and it's been tough to find another option to fill that niche.

    • @xgofpv4565
      @xgofpv4565 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are videos on how to fix the scrolling wheel. The isdt q6 is more powerful and (in my opinion) from a more trustworthy brand than skyrc, so why replace it.

    • @sixtofive
      @sixtofive ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xgofpv4565 That's good to know. If I can fix the scroll wheel I'd be happy to keep using it. Apart from that is been a great charger. I fly micros most of the time, so even parallel charging 6 at a time this new one would have enough power capacity for the majority of my charging, and with a usb c pd battery bank that makes charging 1s packs more flexible.

    Hey i have the b6ac neo version of this charger and i was wondering about discharge current its max is 2A ( min is 0.1A ) is it safe to leave it at 2A discharge current for every battery? If not how do i determine the correct current for each battery?

      Yes that's fine. All the batteries you use can support 2A discharge no problem.

      There is literally one guy on FaceBook who has made a personal crusade out of spreading the claim that this charger is defective. There was one YT creator who said that he got like 5 of them and they failed. That's it. I asked the owner of RaceDayQuads whether they had any issue with it and they said the failure/return rate was normal. If RaceDayQuads was getting a zillion complaints because these were fialing, RDQ would stop selling them. They haven't. Everything is fine. There was one YT Creator who had some failed units. Nobody knows why. Nobody else can replicate his result. Everything is fine.
