Rebels is still the closest we've ever gotten to the Darth Vader of the original film ever since. Even the Vader of Empire and Jedi didn't give off quite the same sinister look and vibe. Rebels Vader was terrifying, and they somehow nailed the subtle differences in his armor and helmet.
I started Rebels at the beginning of Covid Lockdowns without seeing Clone Wars which I eventually did watch. In its own sick way if it wasn’t for Covid I wouldn’t fully appreciate this series!
I got chills watching this. Words cannot describe my excitement for this show. Payoff for the Rebels fans, it looks great, Lars playing live action Thrawn, the late Ray Stevenson giving what looks like a good performance, in the words of a former Jedi who may have been mentioned a couple times in this trailer; “This is where the fun begins.”
What's crazy is Rosario did her homework for Ahsoka in this. She sounds exactly like an older Ahsoka. Her pace of voice, how she pronounces certain phrases it sounds a lot like Ashley. So, so good, I am very glad Dawson has made the character her own and has honored what has come before
I thought her performance was wooden, and horrible. If I hadn't known Rosario to be a talented actress from other stuff I would have put her in the Bree Larson plank of wood school of acting.
As a rebels Fan from the first time watching, this is Just insane. I love the idea of Sabine getting more lightsaber training even tho she isnt force sensitive.
For a trailer, I didn’t expect it to show off this much. I’m beyond excited to finally have the ghost crew back together. Saw Zeb in The Mandalorian, and here we get to see Sabine, Hera, Chopper, Thrawn, and I’m sure we will see Ezra.
I'm still worried what they're going to do with Thrawn's story. He was actually pretty good in Rebels but I really hope to see more of his cunning and actual competency, he needs to be a very significant threat.
Hopefully. Now is the time though. Rebels was pre-OT so he was throttled by the canon. But now he can go all out. And I mean realistically the sequel trilogy never really answered how the first order rose so quickly (and it’s only imo vaguely addressed in the books) so maybe a super competent Thrawn can make that all make much more sense
@@ergob3907 same the best part about most of the shows is that you can mostly watch them and act like they don't connect to that mess of a sequel trilogy.
After 5 years of waiting Ezra Bridger’s story will be continued. But I never saw it coming like this. THIS IS BETTER THAN ANYTHING I COULDVE DREAMED OF WHEN I WAS WATCHING REBELS AS A KID
Sabine being trained by Ashoka is such an interesting concept and I love how the art style of the Ghost’s crew was drawn in the Rebels style. Live action Thrawn looks amazing too.
Yeah it is interesting as she called her master. Now of course she is not force sensitive so she has a disadvantage but she’s been trained with the lightsaber even more by the looks of it. I mean she is a warrior regardless and knows how to fight but she probably wanted to master the saber

Seeing Thrawn in live-action is going to be even greater than seeing Ahsoka the first time in live-action. This is a character whose been waiting decades to make his flesh and blood appearance on the small (and hopefully) big screen: From the book readers of the 90s to the Rebels fans of the 2010s
Ahsoka was in the Mandalorian recently with the same actress and she was pretty good FYI, so this is technically not her first time in live-action. But will be great to more of her an see the character develop further in live-action!
And unlike the flashy moves of Ahsoka that didn't translate perfectly to live action, Thrawns appeal is in his mannerisms, dialogue and plans. Which can translate to live action perfectly!
Kind of weird that I’m only seeing a few comments about Ray Stevenson. He spent the last few months of his life preparing to give us some of his best work as a new Star Wars character. I’m sure he could hardly wait to see his character come to life and showcase his talent to the rest of the world…. And yet it feels like not too many people are even acknowledging him. I get the hype for this show surpasses almost anything & everyone else when it comes to Star Wars but let’s at least show our respects to this man. Aside from that, this looks absolutely beautiful.
Honestly just the feeling behind the way Ray says "Anakin spoke highly of you". Its a bittersweet sensation because Ray could easily have been up there with Qui-gon or Alec Guiness Obi-wan as an iconic jedi/sith master. He just has amazing presence
It was the first thing I thought about. He was very passionate about this role and made it clear during interviews. I wonder how the story panned out and if he was planned to fill a semi permanent role. Either way what a loss and such a amazing actor.
I love that they're doing what they did with Andor by giving it a 2 episode premier. It gets us mote hyped for the show. And I love the look of this show.
@@isaacbeeby2528 You don't get it. Its called a quarter premiere. Ahsoka releases 2 episodes for an 8 episode season, Andor releases 3 for a 12 episode season. Both are 25% of the show

Ahsoka Tano is one of my favorite Star Wars characters of all time! since she was first introduced to me in The Clone Wars movie and also the series in 2008. Ahsoka Tano Forever! 💛✨

@@konstantinosnikolakakis8125 I’m thinking the same thing. It’s going to be a hard like to walk considering we have amazing new canon Thrawn books, especially in the Chiss Ascendency. I've been waiting since I read the Thrawn Trilogy...I'm anxious to see if they bring in Zebb for this...I loved seeing him in Season 3 of The Mandalorian.
I would highly recommend the book series about Thrawn. If you like him from Rebels, you will love the series as you learn so much more about him and his motivations.
Lars did a phenomenal job as Thrawn in Rebels so I was beyond thrilled to hear he’d be reprising the role in live action. That said I was a little concerned that he might not look the part but I’m glad to say I stand corrected dude fits the role so well in live action too I am beyond stoked.

There are no words right now to describe seeing Thrawn in a live action Star Wars show, the emotions are insane right now!!!!! What a time to be alive!!!!

@@elpopman2055 The moment they focus on the force choke she hits them with a wrist-mounted flame-thrower or dart gun. @@Crimson03Ghost You don't have to seriously attack people just because they like something. If they like Thrawn's look (which I do), there's nothing wrong with that. But Star Wars fans always have to complain. Still not sure about Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera (I'm not quite getting the "mother lion" vibe that Hera usually has, but I suppose we've only seen brief clips of her), but the others all seem like excellent choices.
Seeing live action characters in animation is one thing. But seeing originally animated characters in live action is so surreal! Can’t wait! I hope Zeb is in this show for an episode or 2.
People seem to forget that Sabine was using Ezra's saber in s3 of rebels. She used it to defeat Gar Saxon. She's also trained in the darksaber, so she could be a non force user being trained in sword combat.
Seems to me like her missing a connection to the force might be exactly one of the problems brought up in the series (the whole 'you have no power!' bit seems to point towards it). We will see! Could be an interesting character arc, we only very rarely had non-Force users being adapt at using lightsabers.
Good points all around! Personally i dont want her to be force sensitive. Same problem i have with too many order 66 survivors. It dilutes the event for me. Yeah her calling ahsoka master is interesting. I guess we'll find out when the show comes out.
@@laurencereyes1871I have to say that we’ve had a small fraction of Jedi that survived 66. There were like what? 10000 Jedi? We don’t even have one percent of Jedi that survived. Maybe not even half a percent. I’m would be more shocked if there weren’t more.

The force is strong with this one. Most fleshed out + liked character in official SW lore. Being an OG fan I wish they'd give Luke his own "backstory" series. Depressing it may be, but much like how Clone Wars gave deeper appreciation to EP III, a Clone Wars style animated "Jedi Order of the New Republic" would be great. Even though we know where they would be taking us, I'd like to see Luke in his prime (outside of EU).
I like the implication that this takes places almost immediately after the Rebels series finale. Or at least whichever part the series 1:18 takes place
I think they’re genuine dark siders who don’t want to be mistaken as Jedi, unlike Ahsoka who we all know has a complicated history with the old order. In a mirror darkly, to borrow a Star Trek trope
Possible Fallen Jedi/Dark Jedi 😓. Since the color of their lightsabers is burning 🔥 red (like with Dagan Gera in Jedi Survivor and later Bode Akuna with one half of Dagan Gera's dual lightsabers) instead of blood red like with the Sith or the Knights of Ren 🤔 (except for Taron Malicos 🤔). Speaking which, they just showed a Sith Inquisitor at the end of the sneak peek 🤔.
The Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn was arguably the best post Empire series in what was once canon. The fact that Filoni brought him into Rebels and now into li e action still gives me hope for future content and new storylines based on the DNA of the original story.
The original Thrawn trilogy is the reason Star Wars ever lasted. It was considered uncool to be a Star Wars fan in the 80s and 90s, right up until Heir to the Empire came out. Zahn sparked off interest in Star Wars again, and is the reason the EU became so large for it. It even helped get enough interest for the prequels to get off the ground.
@@cadenvanvalkenburg6718 I couldn't agree more. It completely drew me back in and showed that there were still some great stories to be told. It also allowed us to see our favorite characters continue to grow and reach their potential.

@@randomcub922 ... its Ray Stevenson the actor who played the old dude with the red lightsaber in this. Hes passed away sadly. Not talking about Ray Palpatine.
@@randomcub922 Ray Stevenson, aka Baylan in Ahsoka, not Daisy Ridley aka Rey Palpy.
This trailer is absolutely Fantastic!
This is going to be such an amazing show!
It’s been out for less then a minute bro
I opened it the moment I got the notification, you didn't even watch it before commenting 💀
@@NagromX There are many bots here giving amazing! awesome! comments. Thats the nature of social media these days. Can't trust any of it.
I just wanted to say I watched the first 2 episodes. Dave Filoni.. GREAT JOB…. You understand Star Wars like no other. Only one person understands it more than you. That is Georgia Lucas. Love to see an ep. Written by George Lucas…
I LOVE that the ending of rebels is somewhat incorporated in the show with Ashoka showing up to get Sabine
...we don't know how much time has past yet. Her saying she walked away from sabine, makes me think some years have past. Madalorian is 5 years after Episode6... so, this asoka story is either between those years...or it happens after Madalorian season 1, or overlaps 1,2 and 3. Even though the empire, in Madalorian does not mention thrall at all... and the black actor seemed to be wanting to be in charge over the new order, and he wouldn't challenge Thrall, I don't think.... so I'm guessing its either taking place after season 3 of Mando. Or a year or so, after Episode 6 ended.
@@prew_gaming The newest season of mando mentions thrawn multiple times as well as mentions during ahsoka's live action debut
@@prew_gamingThrawn is mentioned in Season 3. Moff Gideon mentions in a meeting, he is tired of talk from Pelleon regarding Thrawns return and the immense amount of resources directed at Thrawns plan.
Excited to see the animated characters in a live action series
2 episodes i watched, looks amazing. I like it. Ray Stevenson character i like a lot, and the fact he is training Billie Eilish.. Its a must watch.
1:45 If you listen carefully you can hear Vader's breathing
I noticed that and got goose bumps

Finally, a proper trailer. Praying the show doesn't let us down!
I'm keeping my expectations tempered, but this trailer is definitely making me cautiously optimistic
@@MHChang2014 same here, at least visually it looks reeeally good, probably equal to Andor
When has Star Wars ever let us down in the recent past!?
@@DelasVC Everytime, except Andor
Could be the fans get "let down" when we don't get what we expect, regardless of the quality of the show. The show can't do anything about our expectations.
After rebels I was lost I have watched the stuff in between but those characters were something special. So glad they are coming back and in live action to continue their story! I never thought this day would come.
Behind Andor this is my second favorite star wars show for sure.... was honestly pretty great.
Rest in peace, Ray Stevenson! I am sure your Sith portrayal will not go unnoticed!
😢😢
Because of the comments, I've started watching, "Star Wars: Rebels" and now re-watching the trailer I realize the title "Ahsoka" was just a cover for "Star Wars: Rebels - Live action" and I'm all about it!!!
I am sad that Ray Stevenson is gone but it does look like he put his best work into this series.
