God I am IN LOVE w this house!! It's so sad seeing these homes gutted and replaced w nothing but smooth whiteness. So much detail, warmth, and character
Beautifully restored and tastefully updated! For those who would choose to have a dinner party at the parlor level, restoring the dumbwaiter would serve a good purpose. An elegant home for elegant living.
Love this house. But I will praise he video. VERY detailed and informative. Nice slow camera work feels like its me walking thru the place. And the music is perfect - not obnoxious and distracting. I almost forgot it was there. Well done. I just LOVE roaming thru these houses with you.
Unlike some of these townhouses, there was almost room to have the kitchen in the rear. But it would have been a squeeze, and it would have destroyed the lovely period woodwork and windows. It's not ideal to ask your guests to trapse downstairs for dinner, but restorationwise, they made the right decision. As I have commented, it would be useful to restore the dumbwaiter so that food could be served at the parlor level.
@@Bobrogers99 growing up in brownstones and townhouses I notice that the new trend (or old I guess depending) is that they turn the parlor level into the kitchen and the first level into an apartment. All my life the first level was kitchen, dining and living room spaces. I guess that’s why I just can’t ever imagine the parlor level being a kitchen. In fact the parlor level was and has always been my bedroom/master suite area in my home.
I grew up on this block. Family still owns our home here. Knew the lady that used to live in that home. Ms. Lashley, RIP to her. IDK who owns the home now but it would nice to know someone in her family benefited from this sale vs just some investors. Wishful thinking however.
Amazing!! This by far is my favourite property. So many original features, love the dumb waiter door, and the entire space has been utilised perfectly.
Wow! I know this house...Decatur St. I lived at 279....I got the chance to walk through this house when the reno was about to begin....OMG, the finish job is sooo lovely. and kudos for restoring the wood and not painting it.
WOW!!! What a beautiful home and all the original woodwork, window shutters and stained glass is stunning!!!! Love the windows in the bathrooms and how they kept the kitchen on the garden level is the best for preserving this home! A true treasure for many more years to enjoy, they just don't build homes like that anymore!
I'm a bit late to the game, but after watching several of these videos; I must say, it's nice to see so much of the original detail in this townhouse. I've seen so many, having been 'modernized' to the point of 'this could be a suburban ranch inside'; lacking personality, for all the being new, and I imagine, expensive, remodels. This home maintains its respect for the architecture, that so many re-do's do not.
This home takes you back in time with it's fine original internal wood design and radiator heating. Amazing for the asking price, no wonder they took it off the market. Love Brownstones and limestones, too bad it's out of my budget.
This house is beautiful, it can be broken up into at least 3-4 different units if one wanted to go that route? Also great production down too the music!
almost! i love the stained wood and they should have carried it thru out. i love the side of the bldg thats unattached. i love windows in my bathroom. i need roof access.
Thanks for your question! This home isn't currently on the market but similar homes nearby are selling between $2 - $3 million (depending on the exact locations & finish quality).
Am I the only one who picks out 'my' bedroom when I watch these videos?
Nope. 😁
🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️ me too!!
Yep! And place my furniture in them as well😍
No I do also
🙋🏻♀️

I couldn’t agree more! But it’s breaking my heart! If ONLY!😢
Absolutely stunning with so many original details. However, I wish the kitchen was in the parlor level.
It is beautiful! Living here you would probably have staff to do the cooking and cleaning for you!

@@Bobrogers99 I think they made a wise choice with a restoration like this.

I think leaving the kitchen where it originally was is the best idea!

All the historic buildings must be restored like this, good job, gutting is a crime
Thank God you restored this gem and kept the spirit of its vintage like a fine wine.
Well Kept Fine Wine......A MEN❣

This is a treasure! So many vintage homes are over-renovated and their original charm forever lost. I would have guessed c.1890-1900.
❤ Perfect Multi Generation Family Home
I love this one..They left all that Mill Work!! It's just beautiful...

I know exactly where this is. Decatur between Lewis and Stuyvesant. One of the most beautiful blocks in Brooklyn!

This is the most beautiful house I have ever seen.
One of those rare homes that exudes warmth when you enter. She's seductive too with her wood work and original features
❤
When I saw all the wood, I was salivating. Shout out to whoever decided NOT to paint over it! She's a beauty!

Love this house
Don't know much about this area of Brooklyn. Is it a nice place to live?
It is new york !
Yes it is. (I live down the block from this house so I’m biased) but it is.
It's nice now. Extremely expensive neighborhood nowadays tho. Family owns a home on this block.
Looming at the outside facade, appears the original house footptint was larger, appears part of the left side was sacrificed for that newer building
My broke @$$ w/ $75 in my checking looking at million dollar properties: “Not bad. Not bad.”
🤦🏽♀️😪
me too! lolz!
Love some..
Whats the yearly taxes? Probably half the value or asking price.
Cool.
Do you have ESPN? Lol..yes it is.
One day..
How much is it ?

celing height? 😍
Gorgeous original features. A little strange though that the best bathroom (in my opinion anyway) is off the kitchen.
The claw footed soaker tub?
