The BEST injectors for LB7 Duramax

- This is going to be the first part in a series that I will be doing to show you how to change the injectors in an LB7 Duramax. The injectors and parts that I will be using I bought from Lincoln Diesel Specialties and they are the SAC 45% over injectors. With these injectors you will not have the normal LB7 injector problem and they will last a lot longer. This is the best option if your LB7 Duramax is in need of injectors.

How have the injectors held up? A friend is telling me to avoid the SAC's because they haze. He isn't saying why he thinks that or what causes it. Thanks.
Will these injector be ok to install in my truck with the stock tuning? And did your mileage change at all?
Yes they will be ok and work fine. My mileage did improve but nothing crazy and probably just because the engine was able to run more efficiently than it was able to with the bad injectors.
If going with the upgrade injectors, is there any other engine mods that need to take place for the extra fuel? Also, would fuel in the oil be a sign on needing them replaced?
The only thing I would recommend is a lift pump unless your going with some really big over sized injectors then I would say your injection pump should be upgraded as well. But for these 45% overs a lift pump is what I would recommend. Fuel in your oil is typically a sign of a failed fuel return seal on the injector return line under the valve cover. Hopefully that helps you out.

What kind of tunes you running? And any fuel upgrades?, i have a stock lb7 and looking to install these when i build the motor
Unfortunately talking about tunes now days is kinda taboo. I have a FASS 150 and a cat filter adapter but other than that no other fuel upgrades. The SAC style is the only way to go for an LB7 IMO and be sure to check out Lincoln Diesel Specialties you will be very happy dealing with them! If you want you can also tell them I sent you. MeanBee392 Heck yea! PPEI is still kicking it for tunes nowadays, have a friends who just got custom ones for his LML through them. Definetly! and thanks for the help!
It sucks and I wish it wasn't that way but I would say hop on some tunes ASAP and PPEI makes some killer ones for sure! Stick with EFI Live and don't go the rout of box tuners I did that for a long time and I was missing out on HP, Torque and MPG with box tuners. Might as well do head gaskets, and arp head studs while it's apart. Guess how I know?
That's not a bad idea but I did not do that. What happened to you?
@@MeanBee392 Head gasket went! Should have done it, when it was apart for injectors, in 2015. Now needs arp studs, and gasket, and might add well do injectors, since it's $450 for testing, and $850 for cleaning at exergy. Gonna have to have it retuned, for 45% over, because those nozzles last longer that stock Bosch. Fortunately my trans was already built in 2015, at SDP, where the truck is at for work right now. I'm done going for big power though. I just need it to reliable haul my Sled trailer, and Dirtbikes, and for work.
Dang that sucks man! That's probably the best bet with the injectors but at least you have your trans built. I still need to build my trans but like you I am done going after big power because I also want reliability and I don't have deep enough pockets for big power.
@@MeanBee392: I used to have the $ to chase hp, but shit changes, and now I just need what I got to keep working. The upside, everything was paid for cash, so no debt to worry about.

Quick question do you have efi live on your truck or is it stock for tuning?

Did the truck run well after you put the new injectors in it on the stock dsp5 tunes or did you retune it before the install?
Changing the style of injectors will require new tuning for them.

Yes it will. You will just get poor fuel mileage and maybe a bit more smoke if it is not tuned.
Are you running an aftermarket turbo or you just running injectors?
Nope stock turbo with these injectors. 🐝
What is your prediction on the miles you will get out of these? My lb7 i have 183k and i know my injectors are gonna be going soon.
My prediction and form what I have seen and have been told they will easily double the mileage of the stock ones. I will have more videos coming on the pickup if you are interested but I will say I am loving the injectors! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Yes I do Still recommend them. I haven't had any problems with them and have been very impressed.
How much was this kit
When I got it a few years ago it was right around $3,900.
I have an 02 lb7 that blows white smoke but runs fine is it the injectors
If it is not burning any fluids then I and willing to bet it is the injectors. Does it use any antifreeze?
