    Love the draft content mate.
    Could see the Roos trading back from 2 but they would be looking for more than 13 + 20. The tigers may have the ammo with Bolton and Rioli potentially on the move in addition to Baker. Its gunna be an interesting off season for sure.

      100% For me thats the move if im north i would do, for me yes the top 3 is good, but if you turn that into 2 picks and a future (that was my idea) you get a good stab next year as that appears stacked with mids, but this year you get the Key role players your list craves! and next year have a pop at established bodies

    My top 5 for the 2025 draft
    1. Dyson Sharp (Central District-South Australia)
    2. Oliver Greeves (Eastern Ranges-Vic Metro)
    3. Tom McGuane (Western Jets-Vic Metro-Collingwood Father/Son)
    4. Zeke Uwland (Burleigh-Allies-Gold Coast Academy)
    5. Willem Duursma (Gippsland Power-Vic Country)

    Interesting take on the top 30, I have made my own mock draft of the top 20 which is quite a bit different to be honest but it gets hard to compare when you've also predicted some trades of picks that I havent as well so the order is also quite different. I'm an Essendon fan and I have my hopes set on taking one of Langford, Smillie or Lalor but I personally believe all 3 will be taken inside the top 7 picks before Essendon get close to the board. With all due respect to Reid who I'm sure is a gun, he would be a disastrous pick up for the Bombers. The absolute last thing Essendon need is yet another small sized, accumulator. They have their place in the league and can be very good players, Zach Merrett for example, but Essendon also have Parish, Hobbs, Caldwell and Durham that fit that mould and already have far too many of them. If all of Langford, Smillie, Lalor and Armstrong are gone by Essendon's 1st pick which I'm betting they are, then I'd like to see us take Xavier Lindsay. An elite running, elite ball using half back / wing is exactly what Essendon need. But having said that, just given Essendon's recent draft record, (excluding Caddy), taking the worst possible option for the balance of our list is a very Essendon thing to do.

      Love it mate! Yeah think you've nailed what I think you guys need. Love playing with mock trades etc. Quite difficulty this far away from the event so will be doing plenty more. Usually once we have delistings we can play with a set mandate if needs and holes so looking forward to the debate

    • @PommyinOZ
      @PommyinOZ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting. I think someone has to attack the draft hard. Adelaide I think will he happy sod is sliding. But... Luke trainor noise is heating up, will the option to snag a mid point of difference and a verstial3 key be an option for saints

      @BigCatinBKK หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PommyinOZ If Sid Draper is available at WC's pick, what would Adelaide give to move up one spot and take him?
      Consider that WC and Port did a similar deal in 2021. WC moved from pick 12 to pick 14 and pocketed Port's future second-rounder in return. That pick turned out to be pick 29.
      So what's the payoff for moving from pick 3 to pick 4.

    Excited for the crows and the players you’ve predicted them to select. It’s taken 5 years but I’m finally starting to see the list slowly take shape. I think the teams that began their rebuilds at the start of the 20’s are in for some good times in the late 20’s due to Tasmania introduction.

  • @brendanh8193
    @brendanh8193 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Two things: Firstly North wouldn't trade 2517 points for 1946, unless a future first or very high second is involved.
    But more importantly, why do you think that they need to replace Fisher and McDonald? Fisher has been doing well. And they have the following small and medium defenders: Archer, Goater, George, Hardeman, Payne, and Bergman.Goater had bad luck this year, after establishing himself last year. That's a pretty full list for essentially 2.5 positions.
    I would have thought that they want the top choices of another key forward and a key back, a winger or a small forward.

    • @PommyinOZ
      @PommyinOZ  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did say some secret sauce so was more focusing on this draft as I believe they trade down. George you mention is a small good desf4ee featured on the channel. Hardenmen I'd agree once ready. But you're comparing astras with Lamborghini's, I believe you require hard edge inside, more slingshot off back half as "fisher doing well?" Your transitioning is woeful and the style is more kick build from back not zfish role. Think the major weakness in north's side is it has the fighting edge of the French 1942 so tried to acquire the many holes with leadership and hard edge

    • @brendanh8193
      @brendanh8193 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PommyinOZAstra vs Lamborghini is a bit harsh. If Travaglia was that much better than the likes of Hardeman and Payne, then he would be pick 1, with more talk than Reid last year. For context, Payne started in half back, and shifted to half forward and some midfield, ending up winning the best and fairest for his team. His team included McKercher, Sanders, Leake and Schoenmaker, and as McKercher put it, he "plays angry", so should bring the hard edge you suggest is needed. So I don't think that North will target yet another half back with midfield ambition. However, if Travaglia has a tank, the wings aren't a strong point at North.
      PS I love how you make us think deeper about our team's needs.

    • @PommyinOZ
      @PommyinOZ  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say you probably would go best available. Like I think you'd love some accumulation and big bodied player and maybe a KPF ready now to complement the big Greek! Barrett will be a bloke I think you'll gi for with maybe Monty and Rome and Burgoyne later in draft. Around the 18 to 23 I think Shanahan and Moraes would be solid selections and Travaglia would be a sexy replacement for houston should u couple up

    Got to the end of your mock, and I enjoyed it very much, but think you are way off with Fremantle. As per my previous comment it started with your suggestion we'd offer up pick 8 for Baker. I'm still chuckling, unless you misspelt Bolton of course. Baker's trade value would be closer to the Saints second round that we hold.
    Fremantle have Hugh Davies and Ollie Murphy developing in the seconds as key defenders behind Draper who has impressed this year. Bringing in a 4th young kpd may qualify as a new definition of what madness looks like. How many developing kpd's do you think an AFL list can justify?
    In the first round Fremantle should be targeting Travaglia and Berry. Speed, football IQ, and ball use. Their key problems are transition and goal scoring. These guys address that.
    I will give you that Baker would be an asset in that regard, but he is not a player you overpay for, is out of contract, and if he moves will nominate one of the clubs.
    Fremantle may overpay slightly for the contracted Bolton, but Richmond should be just as motivated to get this trade done.

    • @PommyinOZ
      @PommyinOZ  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Fair comment! I do really like the Bo selection think he adds to your spread. And Tobie wherever he ends up will be an asset.
      To clarify I do think I made an error on baker as I was doing this on my lunch break and did have two players to freo so I assume I should have added Bolton in that deal had the wrong player codes on my phone. But glad you enjoyed. Will do an in-depth needs analysis as we get closer with final positions etc thanks

      @@PommyinOZ I have no problem with Bo Allen but to me it is uncertain that he becomes a midfielder. Also, in our midfield he has some similarities in terms of role to Erasmus who has yet to establish himself while Fyfe is still around.

    Love the early mock draft Pommy and fully agree with North trading pick 2 out for two first rounders. Naturally the bids will push that latter pick out but it's certainly the right call in what North needs.
    I must say however that I disagree on your first pick for North in Travaglia. North desperately need a KPF and Jobe Shanahan is available North would pick him up straight away.
    Riley Hardeman IMO is a more likely successor to Luke McDonald but with burst of pace. So the to afford the build on needs I'd strongly say North would most likely pick Shanahan.
    Love your take on Matt Whitlock as he too poses a great KPD for North to have developing but could also be a real utility in depth as the likes of Comben and Will Dawson can play BOTH key position Forward/Defender. Imagine the versatility in the talls with the likes of Matt coming into the fold?! Something to really build there.
    Rather like the selection of Gross too as it's important for North to keep up those up and coming Midfielders and Gross really fills out those stocks with aggression the key component there.

    Collingwood can trade into the first round this year, with Noble going and they’ll push for a high pick, and they can get a reasonable later pick should Richards leave and trade next year’s first as they have McGuane coming in who looks like a first round contender so they can trade the pick only needing the points to match the bid on him, so they can get 2 firsts in this year’s draft if they wanted to

    I'd probably trade pick 18 for Noah Balta or Leek Aliir rather than the club consider Nick Haynes. But otherwise great analysis.

    Eagles aren't likely to pick dodson. We already have a young ruck in Harry barnett, we have more need for midfielders. But who knows? Maybe we double down.

      Love Barnett. I did contemplate Noah etc dynamic mid forward. But could see WCE going the ruck forward ruck approach which is successful. Love Harry could see him being a dual role player and having a big like your neighbours in the West

    I didn’t quite understand the trades, but Richmond many firsts for all the players that are leaving …. 2 for Rioli, 2 for Bolton and 1 for Baker.
    That actually gives them 6 (they may give some balancing picks back).

    • @PommyinOZ
      @PommyinOZ  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As discussed at the start, We did Pick 2 for 12 and 21 and a future pick, which gives North the Key pos area of draft, They got 12 for Rioli and some secret sauce, and 8 for Baker with 36 going other way from freo (pushed back with matches) hope this help

      @@PommyinOZ it will be interesting to see how it plays out. The number of quality player hits in the top 20 is usually about 25%. So giving up star players you expect a better than 25% chance of an equal level player.
