    Nice comparison. For me there's just something about the naked I really like & the price is great. It's costs about the same or less than a lot of the more premium middleweights.

    I bought the gsxs1000 part ex'd my Z650 for it and i dont regret it.
    Everything about the bike is spot on.
    Power is insane in all modes top end but A mode is where its at....
    How it handles at lower speeds with the low rpm assist.
    The comfort of the seat and sitting position.
    The up and down quick shifter
    Its surprising how little wind hit you take for a naked. I had worse on the Z650
    Its telepathic in the corners.
    And the style. I personally love the stacked headlights gives it a fighter jet look.
    Also 160 miles range 👌
    You could say this is a leader bike 🏍💨 with the power its putting out.
    If your thinking about getting it. Do it 🤌

    Having riding for over 40 years mostly Sport Bikes (CBR's, GSX-R's, R1/6, ZX-10R, ZX14R etc...), I sold my MT-10 2020 and my track bike (CBR1000RR 2012) and just bought a Suzuki GSX-S1000GT+ (higher screen and hard luggages) and I'm very please. The only things missing are the adjustable sreen, the heathed grips and the center stand. I must say that I like the K5 engine as I had a 2018 GSX-S1000F previously. Excellent buy. 😁

    Seeing GSX8S getting new tft too... i kinda wish for an upgrade GSX1000S with new tft. It just look so much better.. and much more leaderbike than actual one. That said, actual display give me full intel and you don't have that much time to look at it XD So yeah... naked is the one for me.
    Tho, i would get 800 one since look is even more polished and power is way more down to earth for road driving and enjoying. the 1000 just keep trying to get me to commit suicide XD And the 800 does receive all the good stuff (shifter, rider modes, ride by wire, imu etc) from its big brother so it is really an appealing smaller bike. :)

    For many reasons I would choose the GT, simply because I am looking to upgrade my current touring bike. The one thing that concerns me with the GT vs the S is access to the oil filter for oil changes. Removing any fenders to do this is a check in the wrong box.

    • @monkmoto1887
      @monkmoto1887 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ninja 1000 just has the bottom point to it and you can get the filter off without removing anything, but that’s more of a 3/4 fairing. Either way a couple fairing bolts isn’t a big deal, and it’s a good idea to get them off and clean under there every now and then

    Yes on the GT. OEM touring screen, heated grips, drop pegs - all the bike you'll ever need if you can only have one. • @k1mura92
    @k1mura92 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Great video! I was sat with this dilemma a few months back. I ended up going for the naked, which I am very happy about. I bought it knowing that the GT is simply more bike for the money. But there was no getting around the styling aspect. I bought the bike for city riding and twisties, not touring. So the street fighter look was the deciding factor. The dash is functional, and I can live without cruise control. However, if someone was ambivalent about the looks of the bikes, I would not hesitate recommending the GT version. Because the star of these bikes is that amazing K5 engine. It pulls amazingly from the low revs and just goes into warp speed as you close in on the redline. Nobody will need more power on the road, that I am 100% certain of.
    I think both these bikes are severely underestimated considering Suzukis quality and reliability, their specs and the price range they operate on. If you like the looks of these bikes, there are simply no other bikes even contesting them at the price point.

    • @dannygianni
      @dannygianni ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm having this dilemma now. Really can't decide one way or another. As both bikes have what I want. But sticking points being the lack of fairings, wind protection and just general worry cleaning the naked would be a ball ache. Am I over thinking it?? I think they'll do an update on the naked in year or so with TFT screen etc. So worried I'll be on a PCP deal on an older version. Regards money it's more of less same on a PCP do not notice much difference. Are you still glad you went with the naked? Cheers Danny

    • @k1mura92
      @k1mura92 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dannygianni
      Hi, thanks for the question!
      To the question of whether I am glad I went with the naked, I would say I certaintly am. I love my GSX-S1000 and I wouldn't want another bike than it - I made the right purchase. But it really does come down to what you want from the bike.
      When we compare the naked vs the GT, there is no getting around the fact that if money is no issue, the GT offers more utility because it can carry luggage, offer more wind protection and has cruise control.
      However, buying a motorcycle is in many ways mostly an emotional purchase. We already have our car for practicality. For me and my type of riding - i.e., mostly around town and in the twisties, with some multi day trips here and there, paying extra for the GT just wouldn't make sense. On top of that, I wanted the aesthetic and image of a streetfighter. It might sound childish written in plain text, but to me touring bikes just isn't cool in the way a streetfighter is cool. Thats not saying the GT looks bad though.
      I've never missed cruise control, TFT screen or even wind protection. Once I went 120km/t+ for extended periods of time it would be nice with a big fairing and screen, but thats such a ridiculous low percentage of my riding its just not a priority. A fully naked bike has loads of benefits too, most importantly being more exciting and giving a greater sense of speed than a faired bike. Its also cheaper / easier to do maintenance or repair work on.
      As for the TFT screen, to me this is such a small insignificant factor that it kinda irks me how often its brought up. Yeah the LCD is a bit dated. It looks great in the dark, but during daylight its nothing special. It gets the job done. When you're riding you need to see your tach, speed, time and maybe fuel range. You can do that even in direct sunlight. I really don't see the appeal in having a big ipad with loads of menus you're clicking through etc. Remember that if they do update the LCD screen to a TFT, it will be reflected in the cost of the bike.
      Haven't had any issues cleaning the bike really. There really isn't anything I'm missing with my bike. If I wanted to do significant mileage touring wise, then you should definitely get the GT. Other than that though, I think it comes down to looks and price. I prefer the look of the naked. Oh and just as a note, remember that screen can give wind buffeting which is much worse than clean air on a naked. So if you do want to get the GT, make sure to test ride so you don't risk buying a bike that sends lots of air straight onto your helmet. I know some taller individuals had issues with this on the GT.

    • @dannygianni
      @dannygianni ปีที่แล้ว

      @@k1mura92 appreciate the reply 👍🏽 20 mile round trip for me to work A roads. Then obviously out at weekends for a blast. That's why I'm so torn as I can imagine naked being better suited to this type of use. But just don't want to be constantly cleaning if I'm out in bad weather etc. Using throughout the year exposed to elements. GT would give me everything but does it sacrifice ride quality experience? Taking both out Saturday so can make my mind up then 👍🏽

    • @k1mura92
      @k1mura92 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dannygianni The GT weighs a bit more but doubt you would notice it.
      I'm not the best at cleaning my bike but it looks pretty good pretty much all the time to be honest. Not hard to wash IMO! As for difference in ride quality, I believe the only real difference is GT weighs a bit more.
      If looks are a toss up, and you can live with the price, sounds to me like GT is your bike. You just get more bike for not a lot more cash. Do write back with your impressions after test riding them!

    Thank you for this comparison between these two models of SUZUKI motorcycle. My preference is for the GSX-S1000 GT. It's a road bike with a sports temperament conducive to travel. And the TFT screen gives a more beautiful presentation of the motorcycle. What the GSX-S1000 lacks is a TFT display. The choise of a led screen is outdated these days. The same observation can be made for the SUZUKI KATANA 1000 S which also does not have a TFT screen and that is unfortunate. Greetings to all bikers ✌

    The looks of the naked is'nt slightly better, it's design is a revelation compared to that of the GT. I must know i own a GT. It's tail is unbeleavable ugly but the worst is the front. The LED headlights (wich are not exactly bright) look like small pigs eyes and the whole front looks like somhow pressed together from above. Maybe that's a result of works in wind tunnel. The difference makes the driving. When I drive the GT, I'm always amazed at how well it works. It is extremely stable at very high speeds. But it's also a lot of fun on winding country roads. So my advice is buy the GT if you can stand its design. You don't see it while riding.

    The moment they release a TFT screen upgrade for the S1000 im getting it and then you have for me the perfect naked.
    Allthough a personal gripe I feel is asking for a TFT screen at the price the naked is being sold at is abit much given howmuch you allready get in the total package as standard.
    The naked does exellent for long trips and there is a slew of aftermarket luggage parts you can use to haul vacation kit.
    The GT has tomuch options for me. Cruisecontrol being one of them. I'm a rider who prefers to have the bike in my hands so to speak, at all times.
    Now I like you have driven both bikes, and personal preference is a thing. But the S1000 wins it for me. Its a phenomenal package for its price.

    I've been riding a S1000 since July 22. Looked at the GT but am not into fairings. The air over the S1000 is pretty quiet all told even without fairings. With some tweaking its good for well over 3 hours. Aftermarket panniers are available and easy to fit no worries. The trans and engine are great, both going fast out on the highway and slogging along in traffic.
