The voice of Lara is really great and I love this song.. I only miss the goosebumps moment from the acoustic versions like her a capella singing during a stream with German gamer Gronkh :-)

My favourite thing about this song also has to be how the vocals mix. It's like she's always been in the band.

Yes! That performance of "Spielmannsschwur" gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. Would also recommend "Eulenspiegel" from Wacken 2017. I love every version of that song, but it has so much power live, and the audience participation is just beautiful.

Not gonna lie, that song made me wanna go back and play Skyrim again. Reminds me of like 2013-2014 when so many of these Dragonborn covers were popping up on TH-cam, but this one is just... something else.

I've commented this on the video itself already, but what I absolutely love about this version (beside the obvious quality) is that it is rather unique among all the covers. Most covers out there are a rehash of Malukah's original cover. That by itself doesn't make them bad in any shape or form, but after a few it gets a bit boring. This one, while certainly inspired by it, stands on it's own.

What stood out to me, as a massive fan of the Elder Scrolls games who was first introduced to the series with Skyrim back in 2011, was how much this cover evokes the _feeling_ of Skyrim. To quote my comment on the original video: I've played Skyrim for over 3500 hours and have seen pretty much everything the game has to offer, but this brought back that feeling of wonder and adventure that I got from stepping into that world for the very first time.
And of course, musically speaking it's an incredibly well-made cover!

@@DargorHSK yeah its always great when Alea goes stage diving and suddenly you are surrounded ny dozens of girls eager to hold him up high. I managed to have some (more) beers with Jörg (Alea) and a medieval festival in Germany and it was really funny how he and Chris constantly made Jokes about those situations XD

I can't tell you how many times I've come back to this song because of how well their voices mesh. To be honest, I like the acoustic version of little more because of that. At times, I feel in this version their voices are a little drowned out by the instruments.

I can't even tell you how much I celebrate this version. Finally I want to say, because already in 2016 I saw a stream live on Twitch, where Lara was a guest on one of Germany's biggest game streamers named 'Gronkh' and performed this song. For the curious, there is a clip of it with the video ID: YdYqwJxA-ro . 2 minutes of goosebumps, which I have listened to ever since now and then. To hear her voice now after years together with Alea and the sound of the guys from Saltatio Mortis is for me a little dream come true. It just fits so damn well together, I think.

They also released a "making of" video to this. If you like the folk metal style Equilibrium did a full instrumental cover of this song called Skyrim. It's a feast for the ears.
I have loved the Elder Scrolls series from the start and have spent hundreds of hours in Tamriel. And still, hearing this cover version for the very first time immediately made me install Skyrim once more and deep-dive into it.
I love Lara so much, she is a fantastic videogame voice actor and lets player ❤❤❤
You're correct, Elsi, one of the bagpipers builts most of the bagpipes they are using :)
lara is a very famous german youtuber / streamer and professional (opera education) singer aswell as a german voice actor for walt disney movies / block buster movies as jack ryan or american horror story series just to name a few. she aswell is voicing videogame characters for games such as no mans sky, resident evil , rainbow six siege , tomb raider or wolfenstein and many more.
i would say lara is some kind of national treasure for us germans :)

As a MASSIVE Skyrim fan this was beyond amazing. The way they kept the spirit of the song and merged a couple together and the set/props/costumes they used were awesome. I’ve never heard of this band so I’m definitely going to check out more of their stuff. I’m a sucker for bag pipes as well so added bonus

@@ristridin_photography look i get "oh don't focus on the main quest" but if you don't there's literally no...true story just some sub plots here and there...how fucking hard would it have been given it's the same makers of fallout...to ya know have a "good" and "bad" faction...where you can ya know side with the dragons
@@silverscalederg8632 there are several true stories you can find, you simply don't have to make it about the main story. Also, you can decide between two factions. You can join guilds and choose your own way.

No nothing about the vidoe game but totaly love the song and the video. Voiceplay also dropped an acapella version of this song that is equally amazing that is worth checking out.
Well what should i say about this? I Love Saltatio Mortis since 03/04 and Lara Loft not that long but i know that she can sing and Alea in duet with Lara is well freaking awesome! It fits perfectly !
But still im Disappointed, sure it's a 10 Year Anniversary for Skyrim and so on but still! This combination of Voices, with such a skill set on a musical point there could be much more and i mean much much more what they could do instead of a Cover that's been done a thousand times before!

I wish Lara would do more "official" musical stuff. She's probably best known for her voice acting but her singing is just insane and especially on that metal sound she sounds fantastic. Hope they'll do some more stuff together
Some of the bagpipe sets they use, particularly the medieval ones are Redpipes electronic bagpipes, which allow them to change the tuning to fit the songs since bagpipes don't play on a chromatic scale, being electronic allows them to also play for long periods of time without exhausting themselves a lot
Did some more research and the long haired bagpiper has his own bagpipes workshop in Germany so they do in fact build their own bagpipes

I love their version, though personally I prefer the acoustic version they did on the Bethesda live stream (available on Lara Lofts channel if you're interested). To me it hangs on the master side of the studio version, her voice seems just a little too piercing in the mix for my tastes.

Chris is not only building bagpipes, he ist also refurbish them. A friend of me brought his bagpipe from northern Germany to south Germany, where Chris has his store. Therefore, he must be very good
