How to change the cuica bamboo stick - DIY instruction

Your cuica stick broke? Never mind, just put in a new one.
Wetten the cuica skin in the middle until it get´s soft, then carefully open the knot with which the gambito is tied in and take out the rests of the stick.
The new gambito you can sand down a bit with a piece of sand paper depending on how thin you like to play it. Then place it in the middle of the soaked skin and tie a new knot. The skin has to be really wet and soft in the middle, otherwise you won´t be able to put in the new stick. The best is, you get somebody to help you. One can hold the gambito and the skin, the other can tie the knot. With a bit of practice you´ll soon get the trick!
