Vancouver Island Musicians Wanted

- I'm looking for Vancouver Island musicians who are interested in appearing on my TH-cam channel. My goal is to have a series featuring island groups and solo acts.
The plan is to record one or two songs and do a short interview with each group. I'll mix the songs, edit the video and post it to my channel. Ideally, I would like to get to the point where I'm doing one band/musician per week.
I am not charging for this. My reward is content for my channel. You get a professional video recording of your songs and some exposure and studio experience.

Great idea! Wish I was a band in Vancouver Island!
Thanks. I figured it was time to get plugged into my local music community and challenged myself a little. It's been a couple years of mostly me just doing whatever I feel like. I've already got a great variety of artists lined up and I'm sure more are coming. My goal is to get to one episode a week. (I'm a little scared).
@@EdgetoneStudios Its a great goal. Working with musicians is always scary and a change from a nice controlled studio environment right! :)
@@meyerstreetrecords694 well, I'll still have the nice controlled studio environment. I'm actually pretty pumped about the project. My only question is how quickly I can mix and edit episodes.
@@EdgetoneStudios Yes the editing side is one thing for the videos. As for the mixes, I would just commit to the tones and balance and boom. Look forward to watch and listen.
HI Jon, I am just getting involved with musicians on the island. I am mostly a hand-drummer, so I could do accompaniment. But my new thing is singing. I like to play old songs but in very original ways. My style is sensitive, like Eve Cassidy and some of the new singers of the last 10 years. I would love to find a good guitarist who could learn some of my favourite songs, and would be open to being recorded if you felt that it was good enough for that. I have been singing all my life, and drumming for 22 years. I got fairly involved with jamming with professional musicians about 22 years ago, and after a 10 year absence; just one stage performance during that time, I am just getting back with it. Could you refer an acoustic guitarist for me who can learn fast and is good? Thank you.
Thanks. I'm reasonably new to the Cowichan music scene. One of my goals with this project is to make more connections. So I don't have any guitarist recommendations at this time, but that should change over the next few months.
Feel free to reach out once you've put a group together. I'm looking to primarily focus on original songs rather than covers. You can find my email and other contact via my website.
