A police organization that protects the emperor, empress, and members of the imperial family, and guards the Imperial Palace, Imperial Palace, and Imperial Villas. It was the second half of October this year! They were really well behaved; there were just a lot of them. 😁 They were really friendly though and some practiced English with us!

So, His Majesty's official residence is still the Kyoto Imperial Palace, and most of Japanese try not to go there too often so as not to bother His Majesty. Of course, he would allow us to visit so because he would be generous, but Japanese are more reserved. That is why not many people visited there. But, I don't mean I force to foreign tourists to do same thing. Rather, I expect many people, both of foreigners and Japanese, visit there and experience valuable time. I just intent to convey most of Japanese honor and respect His Majesty the Emperor, and the history and tradition built by their ancestors from the bottom of their hearts.
You asked about a very unique tree in Nijo Castle. So I did some research on the internet. This is probably a specially grown cedar tree. Several trunks are grown from one cedar tree. When the trunk grows enough, it is cut and the next trunk is grown. In that way, we can get a lot of wood from one cedar tree. This cedar tree is called Daisugi, and if you search on google etc., you can find a picture of a huge Daisugi.

Near here is a path up the hill to graves of Joseph Hardy Neesima and his wife Yaeko,... I think you won't find foreign tourists here ... and yet, this place is utter Japanese trying to bring Western culture and science into the country.
We don't think so! Although we may have our own religion, we respect others and want to learn about them. Religion plays such a big part in various cultures' history that the two are sort of tied together. I don't think you can visit somewhere that religion is important, without trying to learn about that religion, even if it's not your own. 😊😊

Fortunately Kyoto wasnt bombed in 1945. Before choosing Kyoto an American Military opposed it and said this ist the japanese Rome.
