  • A film capturing Day Two of the 2018 Women's International Parkour Weekend in London, which happened over the glorious spring weekend of May 5-6, featuring some of the action, thoughts and reactions of both coaches and participants .
Now in its fifth year, WIPW brings women of movement together from all over the world for two days of training, sharing, practice, challenges and community. It's intensive, it's exhilarating, it's instructive and inspirational, and it's always one of the events we look forward to the most each year.
Parkour is undergoing such widespread attention these days, with all manner of variations and appropriations occurring: but for us this is what parkour always has been about and still is for the majority of practitioners worldwide - a coming together for good training, great experiences shared, challenges faced and overcome together and the beauty of community. Nothing captures that like WIPW, and this film of Day Two, held as always at the famed Chainstore Gym & Parkour academy and its outdoor training spaces, gives a brief insight into the experience.
Huge thanks to everyone who made this event the best one yet, including all the incredible coaches from around the world, the SheCanTrace team who did all the hard work behind the scenes, the media geniuses who captured the event and enable it to be shared with the world, and most of all the amazing traceuses who gather together to create such an inspirational weekend. So much love, and we can't wait to see everyone at Rendezvous 2018 this August!

I am a male parkour athlete and I absolutely support the inclusion of women in parkour. I think there should be more and more women doing this from all over the world. I love seeing women's international parkour weekend and one day I hope to see a documentary about women and parkour. Keep training everyone and stay strong. And train safe

This is exciting and inspiring to see!
I've had a growing interesting in Parkour for a few years now, but I just turned 34 years old and feel I might be too old to start...

Big love with this event and the womans community is general. Men in the parkour and freerunning community need to take inspiration to dissolve their ego, because it's obvious women train with more purity and less competition. It's refreshing to see.

MoveFreerunning why do you have that kind of bias against men? What do you mean by ‘pure’? Men and women train the way they want to and men are not better of worse than women. Theres nothing wrong with competition either. And men dont need to “learn” anything from these women besides showing respect and appreciation which im sure all of them do

Worth noting I'm a man. This is my perspective on the parkour and freerunning scene in todays society. Perhaps I could have said 'I believe there are certain men who need to take inspiration' ... My apologies. Anyway, I hope you aren't concerned with wordplay, because the sentiment is the same. I appreciate the way this group of humans train, and I do attribute that largely to the difference is social conditioning between men and women - I for one would like to see more women in parkour, mixed training groups, and if we actually listen to the social issues I believe that we see many women are disenfranchised by the male dominated parkour scene and the kind of training atmosphere that results.
