- In this Disney Cruise Line vlog, my friend Jen and I take an incredible excursion in Naples (Italy), to the city of Pompeii. We give you our review of the tour and show what the experience is like. This vlog also features a day at sea, where we enjoy the highly recommended Remy brunch experience. We give you our full review of the meal and whether we think it's worth the price.

Moooorning from the Disney Dream! This vlog features Day 2 and 3 of our Greek Isles cruise 2024. We start out Day 2 checking in for our 4.5 hour (Adults Only) tour of Pomeii excursion. We show you where to check in for your excursions and share our tips in getting of the ship. Throughout the tour, I share an overview of the Pomeii excavation site, what the terrain is like, some facts and information about the history of the city and some information about Mount Vesuvius.
Back on board, we enjoy a table service lunch at Royal Palace, before a lovely chilled afternoon around Serenity Falls, a pre-dinner cocktail at the DVC Welcome and dinner at Animator's Pallette.
On our day at sea, we start off with a brisk walk around Deck 4's promenade and by getting coffee at Cove Cafe. It's then off to Remy to enjoy a fine dining brunch at the cost of $75.00 per person. This is an adults only restaurant that books up incredibly quickly for brunch. This is my first time dining for brunch, so I make sure to give you my full and honest review of the service, food and experience.
For the remainder of the day at sea, we enjoy some relaxing and unwinding time. We then have a pre-dinner cocktail at the Meridian Bar before dinner at Enchanted Garden. Whilst this isn't typically my favourite meal, I share some tips on how you can turn a meal that's not to your liking (menu wise) into a fantastic meal by making some requests ahead of time.
Throughout this Disney Cruise Line, Disney Dream vlog, I share my pro tips and fun facts that have come from my previous times sailing aboard this and other Disney Cruise Line ships. As our holiday is very much focussed on an adults-only experience, we make sure to focus on the adult-exclusive experiences onboard and share what you can get through becoming a Disney Castaway Club member with multiple sailings (e.g. Platinum welcome gift).

Fun fact about Meridian Bar….you can get a $10 glass of champagne if you will accept whatever is open in the fridge! I got some great (and expensive) champagne almost every night of my Dream cruise and only paid $10 each time!🥂
WHAT A GREAT TIP!
I have wanted to go to Pompeii since I was 13. Almost 60 years later the closest I got was a Pompeii Exhibit in Oregon 5 years ago. I was thrilled to see some artifacts I had only previously seen in books. They even had a small sampling of “adults only” items! So glad y’all were able to actually walk around the city. Thanks for taking us along!

I really want to say is that I really love going on Holiday with you to Disney world or Disney land or the cruises through the vlogs
I definitely relate to your feeling about Pompeii, I was on one of the 2017 Disney Med round trips and we did Pompeii on our own via the train with our kids (7 & 10) and we managed 2 hours at the site. It was a heatwave by Naples standards and as you say there is no shade and it’s quite tiring. I’d love to go back in the winter and see more of Pompeii and also visit Herculaneum.
Another benefit of taking the DCL excursion is that you don’t get followed all the way from the ship to the town by a very persistent taxi driver which is what happened to us!!!
The seaweed butter is one of my favorites. I love Remy. I go every time I’m on the Dream or Fantasy.

I have done the tour of Pompii, it is magnificent and overwhelming too. Found myself being overwhelmed when looking at a magnificent mural that still exists, that was part of someone's house. And, getting such feelings when thinking someone lived there and probably died there. Such a beautiful and horrifying experience in one moment. Plus, I know what you mean about the adults only section. Very amusing part of the tour. Thanks Adam xx

Love your vlogs! Have done a disney cruise with the grandkids, not keen on doing another one. Enjoyed the kids, but not the crowds. The adult one looks fun. for cruise however, cost and having a whole ship feels better (other cruise lines). There is a great cameo of Jenn in the diamond store, you caught her in the mirror and looked very cute.

I'd love to visit Pompeii. I've visited Herculaneum, which is a smaller town destroyed by Vesuvius and that was just as fascinating. I've also hiked up to the top of Mount Vesuvius!

They did offer for me to keep it, but there wasn't a practical way to get it home unfortunately 💔

My first experience of Pompeii was in 1976 and the excavations since then have been amazing. We’ll be in Greece and Türkiye in October and hopefully the weather will be a bit cooler.
As much as I love Disney luggage I stopped using it after the same thing happened to me the first time I used it, now I look for luggage with recessed wheels.
Classic Disney style, offering a replacement Suitcase! Amazing! Last year I thought there was something wrong in the bathroom for the cabin I shared with my friend on the Fantasy. Turns out there was actually no issue, but I had already gone to guest services and asked them to take a look. After I came back to the room, there was a cast member who had just walked around the corner as he saw me come back and he apologized as he had been unable to find any issue. I apologized to him and said that it was actually a misunderstanding and I was sorry I had wasted their time on something that wasn't a problem after all. The next day my friend who I shared the room with told me when we were at a trivia event that someone had left a gift basket in our cabin. I thought someone had arranged it ahead of time and it was only just getting delivered. Nope, that was not the case. Guest services sent a gift basket to apologize for the inconvenience that we experienced! THAT is the Disney difference that can now only be found on the cruise line! I accidentally inconvenience them and they apologize for it with a gift basket loaded with kettle corn, mickey shaped rice crispy bars and something else I can't recall. Amazing!

My very first cruise was on NCL. My grandma was so upset I showed up on formal night in a jean skirt and T-shirt. They had to hide me, behind grandma to cover my attire for the family photo. No one told me to hold on to my fancy clothes I'd worn at previous dinners. I even shared a room with my grandma. I was mortified! 😂

Glad you enjoyed it, We did the Med cruise in May, Barcelona, Toulon, Florence, Rome, Pompei/Amafi, Palma.... Had an amazing time. Loved Pompei but it was so heartbreaking walking around the museum. We did Disney ones for them all, and our Rome trip was late, so the ship literally left, the minute we got on board
