A few nitpicks about the video: 1. Bill Murray scene from "Lost in Translation" involved Japanese whisky, a different product 2. Jack Nicholson scene from "The Shining" involved Tennessee whiskey, a sub-variation instead of straight bourbon 3. Marianne Barnes clip is outdated. She got married and her last name is now Eaves. She also left Castle and Key back in 2019.
'Southern Kitchen states "straight bourbon" applies to bourbon aged at least 2yrs but NOT MORE than 4". That's not true. It can be longer than 4. Four or more does not automatically make it Bottle In Bond as implied in the vid. Still, this is a well made and informative vid.
Sure Bourbon was born in Kentucky but by the Bourbon act from the United States Congress in 1964 Bourbon is declared as America's native spirit and Bourbon can be made anywhere in the USA not just Kentucky.
Speaking of bourbon, maybe a video about the controversy of MGP bourbon and rye whiskies? MGP mass-producing whisky for a number of brands isn't a bad thing in itself, they do have tasty mashbills, but the public should be aware that some brands, big and small, are dishonest about using outsourced liquor. The vodka market has the same problem.
I believe the key is to look at the bourbon bottle and if it says "produced and bottled by" whichever brand you bought, it's most likely sourced bourbon. Or it might say "distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana" or "distilled by MGP, Lawrenceburg, Indiana". Again, sourced bourbon. If the label reads/says "distilled and bottled by" the brand you bought, then they distilled it and bottled it at their distillery.
I thought that bourbon must be aged in charred new oak barrels for “a period of time”. straight bourbon must be at least 2-4 years old if the distiller provides an age statement. If no age statement it must be at least 4 years.
*People, this is 51% accuracy and 49% "BS", Bourbon is Bourvon when made to the Corn Whiskey recipe and distilled in Oak Wood Barrels. All Bourbon has a Woody taste and Sour Mash is a whole other recipe, ie: a Different kind of Whiskey.* *In my perspective, the best Whiskey is made in Ireland, Pure Pot Still, "Redbreast Irish Whiskey"* The Irish set the standard for Whiskey, their American relatives established a method in the Appalachian Mountains, USA. .
Mashed- Will you ever make an accurate whiskey video?? Less than a minute in, and you're already flat-out wrong. Every video I've watched is riddled with errors to the point I think you take 5 mins on Wikipedia before making a video. C'mon.
Really dislike them dumping the food on top of the animals heads. I don't care if it's a trough or a slop ground, that just seems impressively disrespectful and unneccessary.
Seeing how the cattle stick their heads in before the feed is troughed, it is neither disrepectful, nor unneccesary... and frankly, the cattle could care less since they are clearly well-fed. Those ranch-hands are just doing their jobs friend.
It's basically distilled beer that's been stored in a barrel. The wood tends to impart a vanilla-like flavor to it. Good whisky is quite tasty, taking small amounts into your mouth allowing it to coat your tongue.
Get a bottle of at least 18 years and above, you will changed your mind. There's always a reason why someone would pay top dollars for expensive whisky 🥃

Don't understand whiskey. Why do people want to drink ashtray juice?
Every time I drink it, it seems as if I am in a dentists office and the dentist has his glove over my nose.

Its funny. You make fun of people for liking ashtray juice, ignoring the fact that you have no taste buds.
Not really....Sound kind of picky/ Snobbish, people in Kentucky.
