- The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards - a sold-out gala for over 1,000 attendees at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California hosted by Kathy Griffin.
Some of the evening's presenters included, Billy Bush, "Access Hollywood", Darin Brooks, Scott Clifton, Kim Matula, "The Bold & the Beautiful", Brooke Burns, "The Beast" "The Chase", Kate Mansi & Casey Moss, "Days of Our Lives" -- Giuliana Rancic, "E!News among others.

These awards are mostly watched by soap audiences and that's who should present all the awards for them. The other crap dumbs down the show.

I didn't mind, considering I have the mouth of a sailor (as I posted above, this is one of the least offensive things considering what daytime dramas pull nowadays)
That category was tight for the male in leading drama Peter Bergman as Jack Abbott, Doug Davidson as Paul Williams, Christian as Michael Bolwell ,Billy Miller as Billy Abbott and Jason as Patrick all are winners

Damn right. JFP shouldn't even still be working on soaps. Her track record doesn't lie. Every soap, she's worked on with the exception of General Hospital and Y&R, has been cancelled. The only reason why Y&R hasn't gone completely down the crapper is solely due to Josh Griffith being such a great head writer.
I've actually encountered people who like her. I can't imagine anyone liking someone who fired a 90 year old (or so) actress (GH's Lila). Completely unnecessary
cajayson8301 That is but one of the MANY things she has done wrong over the years. Everything she touches turns to garbage.
Mind you, Guiding Light under her tenure had strong storytelling but for that I credit Lorraine Broderick (who has a track record of consistently great writing at every soap she's worked at, save for perhaps ATWT). Phelps' vision is always about utter gloom and misery. I only give her credit on aesthetics since she tends to have great music, sets, costumes, etc. Everything else with her is a clusterfuck.
I notice that Phelps tends to have problems with women. In her "Friends of Jill" club, there don't tend to be that many females.

There was nothing wrong with what Y&R submitted. Delia Abbott's death put them through the finish line. And don't forget the legendary Katherine Chancellor's death
The Mind of a Chef: Season 2 has great writing, Bobby Flay has great acting on Bobby Flay's Barbecue Addiction: Season 3 and Steve Harvey has great acting on Family Feud in 2013.
I HAVE to put on a few Daytime Emmy shows, because of Kelly Clarkson going up against Jennifer Hudson for Best Talk Show and Host next June. SESAME STREET IS GOING TO GET ITS OWN DAYTIME EMMY SHOW THIS DECEMBER.
In order to win an Emmy, you MUST get good ratings thru the season. If Kelly can do THAT, why not Jennifer Hudson?

I was so hoping that Days of our lives would win, that would've been AWESOME, I wish I had a Time machine so I can travel back to this time, and switched the envelopes, and have Days of our lives win it, instead of The young and the restless.

Because One Life to Live was picked up by the Oprah Winfrey Network for an additional season in 2013

It seemed ridiculous for One Life to Live to win directing award, it had only been on a few episode before it had been cancelled for the last time, and why were they nominated for drama when they had not even been on at all
Yeah, it is a little odd that General Hospital wasn't nominated instead (not that I would have thought that would have kept Y&R for winning the award.) A matter of fact, OLTL, might have been better to be in the new category with Venice, etc.
OLTL had a few material to submit from 2013 so they were eligible

I'm happy to say I don't agree with ManicGrasshopper. I was surrounded by cursing (quite a bit. After all, I grew up in California and still live there) all my life and turned out just fine, as did many others I know (plus my vocabulary is VERY extensive for someone at my age). I'm more worried about so called "perfect" parents who act like they know everything about rearing children and instill poor lessons into their kids, like being permissive on bullying...all the while uttering few obscenities. THAT is where people should be concerned, not over innocuous four letter words. For fuck's sake (oops sorry! I guess I'll be vilified by the PC Police on here. I don't give a flying shit...whoops there goes another infraction! I guess I better start paddling up the river to San Quentin), lighten up and stop living in the Puritan times...plus, Sharon Osbourne uttered a total of what...THREE curse words in a matter of four minutes and it's all of a sudden a slight on society? People are acting as if it was literally every other word. I'd say bigger slights on society would be income inequality, climate change, gender discrimination, religious intolerance, etc.
Also, the reason why her "Gutter Mouth" is respected today is that it's FUNNY and she delivered it in a way that was not overtly crass. Do you think Robin Williams is such a respected comedian for being a goodie two shoes during stand up? Heck no. He cursed all the time and made it work, just like Sharon did here (and I'm not her biggest fan)

I'm sorry but award shows, whether they be on television or online, should be much classier than this. The f-bombs we could have done without. Kathy Griffin was a terrible host. And I am shaking my head in disbelief because I just wasted almost 2 hours of my life watching this crap!!!! Bring the Emmys back to television where they belong before this award show becomes a forgotten thing of the past!!!!
