Literally mostly everyone knew I had a crush on him, not to toot my own horn I was pretty popular at my elementary school (maybe because I was the only black girl besides my older sister who was 1 grade ahead of me) by the time we were in 3rd grade my love for him was at an all time high I was ready to shoot my shot and start dating him.Then I remember like it was yesterday we were coming in from recess it was early spring on the playground my friends were teasing me that they were going to tell him I liked him, (I honestly was not opposed to it, kinda wanted him to know I loved him) we laughed about it until when we were walking in to class they told him I was watching from a far already in the classroom laughing about it until he said the words I will never forget... Also, at kindergarten I kissed him out of nowhere and the same thing happened at almost the exact same way again. The difference is, the first time we were dancing and the second we were chatting in the front of a sushi bar.

My first crush was a girl named Freya, it was 4th grade and she was the only boyish gal out there. It broke my heart when a classmate was doing a “are you straight or curvy” poll and she answered she was straight. Fast forward so many years later in high school, she’s one of my close friends and someone I can always talk to about my love life. It’s quite funny though since my team captain in softball has been dating her for 2 years now (so much for straight lmao) and I’m really happy for them.
It’s just weird because the time that we’re close and we act like a couple sometimes is the time I don’t have feelings for her anymore. I confessed to her last year that I liked her at one point and she couldn’t even believe it.
