I am quite surprised that Baldur's Gate 3 didn't make this list. BG3 has the potential to set a new bar for RPG's like Fallout: New Vegas did back in 2010. After putting about 200 hours into early access alone, I honestly believe BG3 will be in the running for top RPG of the decade, if not the top.
My thoughts exactly. For any one checking the comments for BG3 - August 3rd release on PC and I can't wait for it.
They covered it numerous times already, so that may be the reason they didn’t include it in this list
But for a top 25 upcoming games list it should be included. Especially when their number 4 is a “game we are not really sure about”

@@Jacob-ug1mp its only the first region, if you ant an idea how that looks to a completed game, they did the same thing with Divinity Original sin 2. Act 1 was released early AFAIK.
@@Jacob-ug1mp they are saying that Act 1 makes up about 25% of the game. However, they are also saying that on release Act 1 will be about 30% bigger/altered.
So EA had around 15-20% of the full game maybe?
For me my top 5 is (no specific order) AC6: Fires of Rubicon, Space Marine 2, AC: Mirage, Alan Wake 2, and Starfield. I was super suspect of Starfield prior to the recent showcase but it looks much more promising, sad that Space Marine 2 didn't get a mention but I get it's a very small fambase in the bugger picture. Keep up all the great work you guys do, I love your content.
Great list with a few I didn't know about. I am shocked you haven't covered the "Star Ocean the Second Story" remake this year. I loved that game from childhood, and it started me on the series. I am sure quite a few are looking to see this again on next-generation consoles.

looking forward to Baldur's Gate 3, Hellsweeper VR, and Witchfire. So many games coming out this year.
There are definitely some interesting titles on this list that I'm looking forward to, like Stalker 2, Alone in the Dark, AC Mirage, Alan Wake 2, and maybe Avatar. Thanks for the video. PS: It's a pity that Super Mario Bros Wonder won't come to PC, that would have been the bomb. Looks absolutely glorious.
There's a demo out for Alone in the Dark. We'll on Xbox atleast not sure about PS. You should definitely try it out. It kinda took the wind from my sails. If it's anything like the demo it's gonna flop like the rest of the newer Alone in the Dark games but that may just be me.

I’m so excited for Starfield. I can’t see myself playing anything else for a long time after that comes out. Also very excited for Phantom Liberty and the general updates to Cyberpunk though.
Same here since they properly fixed it it’s been so good to play am obsessed with it, I just hope they allow us to keep our like romantic moments with Judy, panam, river ect I adore those characters 😂

Absolutely hyped for Super Mario RPG, Armored Core VI, and Starfield. But, man, what a fantastic year for games.

Me and my fried played first game atleast 8 times with diffrent difficulties + DLC. Short game, but amazing skill/weapon system!

Little bummed Balders Gate 3 didnt get a mention. PC and playstation versions are coming out this fall with the Xbox version to follow later.
PC is not coming this fall, PC full release is on the 3rd of August for the non-Early Access people, 31st of July for the Early Accessors.

Cities Skylines 2 for me, I started the first one a while back and it's very addictive and extremely satisfying when you get to grips with the mechanics and watch your cities expand and function properly.
A lot of games coming out that I'm interested in: Alan Wake 2, Lies of P, Sea Of Stars, Super Mario RPG, Assassins Creed Mirage, and of course, Starfield. Too many good games!! It looks like the a good 2nd half of 2023. I'm looking forward to it.
@PeanutMike Eh, i respect your opinion despite i completely disagree. I thought it was superb, now i'm not gonna judge it too early but the demo was definitely felt like a perfect soulborne series. Can't wait for the full game to release.

Theres a lot to be excited for here but the ones that im most interested in are Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Lords of the Fallen, Assassin's Creed: Mirage , and starfield. Not sure if ill buy all four but ill at least follow them on twitch to see if they are good:)
Assassin's Creed: Mirage sounded amazing as a back to the roots, non bloated and shorter game... Then I saw the teleporting gameplay.

If starfield delivers that sounds so sick. I have such high doubts ro be honest and looming forward to a before you buy review. You guys are pretty on point for the honest reviews. I like that you dont really put a rating but are informative to what certain players might or might not like about a game amongst many other things.
I have a feeling it'll be good.. a year after release. Launch is going to be a complete mess, and will remain that way for months.
The procedural generation worries me though. Bethesda has always been renowned for excellent hand-crafted worlds, and the few parts they did generate (E.G. Oblivion gates) have been aggressively mediocre and always the worst part of any game they've made.
They're basically going to be 98% empty nothingburger planets for grinding resources, with maybe 20 out of the alleged 1,000 planets that'll be genuinely interesting and compelling, because they'll be story-centric or adjacent.

Its a good time to be a gamer, been a real solid year already and so much to look forward to. Starfield and SM2 have to top my list, but Atlas fallen, new Super Mario, AC mirage, Avatar, Cyberpunk expansion, and AW2 are all up there for me as well.

2023 will most certainly be up there with the likes of 98, 04, 07, 12 and 17.
My most anticipated are Forza Motorsport, AC Mirage, Avatar FOP, Blasphemous 2, Sea of Stars, Lies of P, STARFIELD and Spider-Man 2.
Honourable mentions are CP 2077 Phantom Liberty and ExoPrimal
From that list it's Forza and Starfield that interest me most, although you can add Spidey 2 once it makes it's way to PC. Stalker 2 is the other one that has my interest.

I was never a huge fan of Armored Core, but I was an old school MechWarrior player back in the day… I am excited about the speed/maneuverability and next gen graphics for sure
There are a lot of good looking games on this list, I'm very excited to see Mario RPG get a remake, that game is so good!
7:03 Something that people are not touching on when discussing Super Mario RPG is that the game originally was developed by Square in collaboration with Nintendo. Also, the game itself was very good, and if all they did was update sound and visuals, we are all in for a fantastic game.
I imagine there will be some system tweaks and the obvious graphical overhaul, but you’re 100%. I hope it’s still good without Squares involvement in the project. Or are they involved?
@lawlyss square has to be somewhat involved even if small. They were the reason the game has been in limbo so much, also if we dont have the optional boss at the end withr he clear square reference we will know

My personal top 5 games releasing before the end of the year would have to be Starfield, Remnant 2, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Armored Core VI and Cocoon. Though I am most excited for The Invincible, but that one doesn't have a release date yet so could easily wind up being an Early 2024 release, but I'm hoping not.
The perfect video when I searched I literally wanted one that talks about what we can expect during the 2nd half of the year and this video certainly addresses that.
Being a huge Fallout and Mass Effect fan, I am anxiously awaiting Starfield.
I know it may not be the most popular choice, but the only other game I'd mention with a definitive release date is Eternights. Can't wait for that!

I'm really excited for Like A Dragon Gaiden, i can't wait to see what happened with Kiryu after Yakuza 6 (although i wish we'd get a localisation of Like A Dragon Kenzan to go with Ishin)
I do like that chronologically it changed combat style for 3 games straight (yakuza 6: original beat em up, gaiden: stances like judgement and then like a dragon with the turn based)

I'm actually pretty new to the Like a Dragon franchise, last year I played Yakuza 0, and ever since then, I made it my civil duty to play every single one🤣I played Yakuza 0 all the way to Like a Dragon, some of Judgement as well, all I need to play is Lost Judgement and Like a Dragon Ishin (not counting all the games like dead souls I think it is? And the online game etc)

I would love to see Virtual Reality lists like this from you guys! There are even VR games from mainstream flatscreen franchises coming out (Assassin's Creed, Vampire: The Masquerade, Aliens, GTA: San Andreas, etc) They would be simple to do, too, since PSVR2 and Quest 2 are the only real players, aside from some PCVR.
Mhm, it's late and I'm tired, probably why my brain refuses to understand this? How do you bring VR to flatscreeen tv's?? With some dedicated headset from the given brand of the TV (Samsung, Xiaomi, etc?)

virtually every game can be vr modded now, thats the beauty of having a pc instead of a console,GTA is already vr modded so is cyberpunk no point in waiting 6 months for a new vr title to come out when you have over 20 years of top games that you can vr mod for free

It's kind of crazy that 3 of the most anticipated games are almost literal clones of dark souls - and yet the formula has become so universally loved that absolutely no one has a problem with it! That being said, Lies of P looks special. It has the potential to be the first clone of them all that really stands on its own.

I liked the old AC where each mission took you to another part of the story instead of having to grind and do hella side missions to progress old AC side missions just gave you more gold or hints to Easter eggs and achievements and the story was just new ig now it’s been ran into the dirt and they went as deep as they could with the story
i think the farcry formula works great for introducing the player to an alien culture, it seems like if James Cameron had any hand in this it was to say "i want the player to learn what it means to be Na'vi". the impression i get from the whole avatar project is that he wants to give people a new perspective on our home by showing an alien world where the intrinsic interconnectedness of all living things is far more obvious, and mankind's rapacious disregard for the harmony of creation can be thrown into starker contrast.
Avatar is just a modernized Pocahontas story

"Not that deep" Feels like a weird way to describe armored core. As a kid, I remember being surprised and thrilled by the cyberpunk espionage story.
I'm so hyped about Cities Skylines 2! I might even take a few days off work to enjoy it properly when it drops.

I played the Sea of Stars demo last night and it kicked ass! Felt very Chrono Trigger mixed with like Paper Mario/Mario & Luigi games.

I was really interested in PRAGMATA but the constant delays has lessened my HYPE a bit the snippet of gameplay we saw was good tho so it has potential.

Baldur’s Gate III is easily the game I’m most excited this year

Starfield is the top of my list but I’m sure I’ll end up playing others from this list as well.
Its early access is set to start this summer so I understand the hesitancy to include it on lists like this but a lot of people are sleeping on Wayfinder.
Airship Syndicate developing & Digital Extremes publishing an action MMO-lite has me all excited. I've never played Warframe but I love all of Joe Madureira's games (Darksiders, Ruined King, Battle Chasers) as I cannot get enough of his art style.
I was hyped for a new airship syndicate game but not this. Competitive pvp is such a watered down genre with free to play games only the HUGE ones take off and the rest delist within months. Sadly this will definitely be the latter.

It's currently just slated as a PVE solo/co-op action RPG experience. Give it another look if you're curious. The studio hasn't missed yet, imo.
No Baldur's Gate 3? I mean this is going to be an absolutely massive game that could potentially be the new bar to beat when it comes to depth, replayability, and overall pure and true RPG goodness.

I'm definitely looking forward to Starfield, and as a Fallout fan, even though it's a mod and not a game, many of the Fallout community are looking forward to Fallout: London, the Fallout 4 mod. I've been following it for a long time and they've put an unbelievable amount of effort into it. It even seems like they have more original items than Fallout 76. The mod is supposed to release last quarter of 2023.

I really amazed when saw old S.T.A.L.K.E.R years ago but wasn't able to play cuz of 2gb of memory. Ambience was awesome. Hope they will release new game asap.
Mario rpg was my first rpg and I've been wishing and hoping for a remake for sooo long! My boy geno is coming back! The soundtrack has been living rent free inside my brain for 25 years 😂
This year is gonna go down as one of greatest years ever for gaming. I would personally put Stellar Blade on this list as one I’m very excited for but unfortunately due to the lack of news it’s looking like it will be delayed. Hopefully I’m wrong
Yeah Project Eve looks mad but there's next to nothing on it makes me feel it's not ready yet with everything coming out though I wouldn't mind 2024 would be even more stacked Lol
