Honestly the most disappointing thing is the lack of ability to play private matches. Me and my friends that play CS we’re able to get friends that don’t play or haven’t played in a while to get on, but when there’s more than 5 of us we either have to split up or people have to sit out. Private matches are huge for the game growth and learning. Even without workshop maps it’s still an important feature

They've been putting in a ton of work lately, and with the uplift to Source 2 it's going to make the devs job easier to add new features/update existing ones. The future of CS is bright, we just have to get through a bit of the bugginess with the new version!
Yup, our monkey-brains are impatient but I believe in the future. This isn't like other games where they will release a really buggy mess and never improve, this has Valve quality and will surely change for the better.

@@coltyt9529 The fact is that we know cs2 will last at least 10 years like csgo did. The start of csgo was a total mess (way bigger than cs2) and many people didn't wanted to play the game at all and prefered css or even 1.6, csgo dev had a hard time making the game better bc of this hence why they make csgo unplayable now with cs2, they don't want that situation to happen again
I couldn't agree more with regard to the point about the tracers feeling misaligned. The first thing I noticed in CS2 was that I couldn't spray, and I realized that I had relied quite a bit on the tracers when committing to prolonged sprays.

@@coreblaster6809 No, the tracers are definitely different, and they definitely affected my ability to spray past 20 bullets. I'm not even necessarily complaining or saying it needs to be changed to be the same as CS:GO, but it's different, and at the very least needs time getting used to.

I'm not a game developer but I've worked on huge IT migrations and even if you lose a dozen features, getting to the other side of a migration is a huge difficult feat. Now that CSGO is gone it's all about fixing and improving cs2 and by 2024 I expect it to be easily the best counterstrike we have ever played. However that's from a purely technical standpoint.
valve games are a techdemo, why would you remove a techdemo, csgo? Because csgo is css and cs2 is source 2. They in essence drop ped another trading card april fools game
I'm having a good time playing cs2. But my biggest criticism is the location of health and armor. In csgo, health and armor where easy to see, large and had both a number health bar. @@wellingtonbruh3756I feel like QoL things like changing your HUD and whatnot is still a ways out. The game is technically sound, but I agree it's lacking on certain features, especially QoL. It's always the little stuff that matter to me personally.
about a year ago I switched from having a “gamertag” and started using my real first name as my steam/in game name, people are pretty much always nice to me, they treat me like their little brother or something. i think having a gamer name dehumanizes you and subconciously makes it easier for people to be mean to you.
@BlastinRope being mean, toxic and insulting others is the core essence that makes CS, CS. What's the point of playing if you aren't calling others slurs every 10 minutes...
The biggest thing for me about the full release that makes it different than the Limited Test? A linux build. I am so happy I can play. "Finished" or not, I am just happy to be able to play with my friends.
The bullet travel interacts with smokes. And it's also weird, because the travel as you showed is not going where the bullet is, so the same goes for holes left in the smokes. They are left where the bullet travel path went, not where you crosshair is.
I'm glad they finally released it, but they practically killed the casual experience in favor of completing the competitive one. We might not even be getting an operation before the major next year with how many game modes we lost from go that still need to be added. Team Deathmatch? Retakes? Flying Scoutsman? Arms Race? Dare I say, Danger Zone?
The whole cs culture revolves around competitive, it makes sense for me. Not saying casual players do not matter, but the priorities they set were appropriate imo
I think what really needs to happen as soon as possible is for Global Offensive to be reintroduced as a separate Steam entry in a stripped down form without matchmaking and without skins. Call it Global Offensive Legacy Edition or something. Make it clear on the Steam store page that this version is unsupported and is mostly for playing private games and old custom maps and modes. It would make this whole situation sting a whole lot less as we wait for the rest of the game to be re-implemented into the new engine.
I like what developers do, they fix bugs fast, they listen to community - very good job. What is bothering me is actually all those business decisions from Valve. Because both locking 64 ticks and rushing release date were strictly business decisions and they are bad for the game in my opinion.
If you are complaining about 64 tick it proves you know nothing about how Subtick works LOL It also proves that valve should not listen to the community on everything, because they don't know what they're talking about 99% of the time.
As a solo queue player, it took me 30 games to reach 10 wins. I had an 10 and an 5 loss in a row. I played against pros (two players from the M80 team) and finished with 4,500 points. The solo queue line-up is crazy and causes mental health issues.
Unnecessary to say that this is very different for everybody, I’m not a great player, I got supreme in soloq at best, I’m not a carry I depend on teamwork to win games- and I got to 10 wins in 13 games in the beta and 14 after release- with leavers, toxic people and afk guys. Counterstrike is counterstrike and Solo is and will always be a special experience. That being said if you lose that much it might be time to accept that you are part of the problem, and your ranking might be justified. If anything I would say with 20 losses you should still consider yourself lucky to get about half the elo of someone who only lost 3 games🤣🤣 Why play Premiere Mode at all, if you want to play casually? Pick your maps, learn them, get better and then go for try hard- you’re someone who can’t even ride a bike expecting to be able to just pick up motorcycles, cars, scooters and airplanes and then blames everything on the planet you’re standing on when it goes as it’s supposed to.
Came back to comment that I don’t even feel like playing 10 games because it feels like torturing myself, I either encounter 5stack cheaters (YES, BLATANT AIMBOTTERS) or ppl who just leave the game forcing us to surrender

After having taken a break from cs:go for a very long while, I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying CS2. I really want to see more maps and game modes.
I'm 30 years old and haven't played any CS in years. I used play 1.6 as a kid (even 1.5 against bots) after school all the time. It's amazing to see that this game is still going strong all these years later. It just warms my heart.
should play the new one, it sucks compared to 1.6, 1.6 and source. I mean i still play it, but the guns dont feel right. something aint quite right with the model physics either. CS source had better physics and sounds IMO
I love the SC II background music that you use. I hate that you didn't mention CSGO 2 not running on Mac computers. There is currently no old CSGO and no new CSGO for Mac users, such a shame.
The reason that left hand perspective isnt in the game yet is probably because it affects the shadow that your player casts on the ground. In CS2 you can now see your own shadow, making it possible for the player to think more ahead of where and how far they are peeking so that enemies cant see you. Im sure they will fix this in the future but they simply havent implemented it yet.
This and smoke spam. They would also have to change the angle. I think it basically breaks the game or causes it to be unfair in certain scenarios. It will be interesting your this gets implemented.
All of these arguments are pointless, nobody is asking for that shit to be adjusted, they just want their weapon on the left so it doesn’t disturb them. What is the point of all these changes, left handed is no unfair or even real advantage- people should simply be able to choose if they want their game to look slightly off in order to play more comfortably. This isn’t about something like visuals breaking the Immersion, or getting an advantage what are you talking about. Nobody even asked for adjusted shadows and smoke spam
I don't think that shadows are problem, when you inspect your weapon or change view model shadow doesn't react to this. When you pick up or switch weapon shadow has a delay about a second. So it means that 1st person view is rendered separately from your model on server and they can do whatever tgey want. Hopefully they give us back everything they took and add more. I'm waiting for clear decals, cl_bob, left hand and so on.
As far as I'm concerned, its not a full released untill they add AT LEAST the maps they teased in the trailer (baggage, shoots, etc.) Its missing key game modes like arms race, flying scoutsman, danger zone, etc. Not to mention key features like left handed, inv_nextgun, etc. Also, I was sort of hoping for native support for more community game modes like surf, kz, bhop, prison escape, zombies, etc. But that may be pushing it a bit too far
I think they knew nobody played the native arms race/demolition game modes. Would have been wasted effort to focus on those especially for new content like jailbreak, which the community will want its own way anyway I agreee though the lack of maps is killer. I think the thing is the community maps come from operations, and given mappers already had tools for at least a few months, we could have had a launch operation
Omg an official Surf mode would be wild. They don't really have to do anything other than hand pick a 5 of the best maps from each tier, and have a UI to let the player select their difficulty level. Just having that recognition from Valve would be so cool. Ofc I doubt they're going to do that, they don't need to, and existing surfers would probably find a way to be mad about it, but it would still be cool.
@@Delicomswhat do you mean nobody played it? Is there a statistic or something? I have never had a problem with finding a match ever in arms race and I played it every day for couple years.
The CSGO team probably wanted and expected more upon release themselves. But often, software development timelines fall behind schedule and they said it was coming Summer 2023 so they were probably in a bit of a bind. I expect to see a lot of additions in the very near future.
The one thing I'm sad about is the removal of clan tags and team name switching. It was fun to try and play like a clan with a 5 stack also this change removes funny group tags, smh
@@Bestow3000 Why do you hate it. It allows the other team to know if they're going up against a sweaty 5-stack team or not. Unless you're the type of person to do this, it shouldn't bother you.

One more issue I personally have is that they decided to remove being able to check how much damage you did in the console when you die, instead they show how much damage you did in the NEXT ROUND. Very useful information going into a new round, tell your teammates how much you lit the enemies last round, so smart.
@@lorenzooliveira1157 id say it’s bad, you can’t even comm for your team if any of the enemies are lit (except if you lit a guy and he kills you, it still shows how much you hit him)
War Games was unplayable due to hackers botting. I tried to join Wargames for an hour and got kicked from every server, and God forbid I have a server to myself some guy will join add his own bots then use them as votes to kick. Valve was doing absolutely nothing about it.
some things ive noticed with cs2: 1. hitreg is terrible, huge backtrack, people are getting shot behind walls. 2. same problem with awps, where the flick and shoot mechanic is severely changed by subtick, it is very inconsistent to hit flicks. 3. spray pattern, even though they say its not changed, it definitely feels different. there is a known difference between 64 tick spray and 128 tick spray, where 128 tick is slightly tighter, i believe it is the different with subtick. 4. movement, bhopping feels so impossible now before i can land 3 or 4 hops consistently on 64 tick now it is difficult to even start 1. 5. peekers advantage, probably same thing with subtick, but everyone is ferrari peeking me. i feel like something is off with camera and player model, but i havent seen proof. 6. player model is still very clunky, especially the legs, when u counter strafe on a slanted surface, the legs glide around. these are the definite cs2 mechanical differences, if yall seen some of this or have any other issues, let me know.
I actually felt the opposite; shooting is definitely not fun compared to CS:GO but hitreg I feel was far better. Unlike before where the game waits until the next tick to calculate the shot, in CS2 the game will calculate who shot first and then kill the first person to die on the next tick, even if they are behind walls as they technically died already. This difference means that previously missed shots in CSGO may have actually been hits that were unfairly recorded, as the enemy hitbox could exit the shot trajectory after the input tick and before the shot calculation tick. The difference now is that unlike CS:GO where pressing two buttons on the same tick would be the same, for example pressing a and left click on the exact same tick gives 100% accuracy, pressing two buttons on the same tick now gives you different results depending on the order no matter how precise and if the action was on the same tick, meaning that input timings are far more precise as the server retroactively calculates your inputs and old players who had the advantage of more lenient timings due to 64 tick are noticing the unresponsiveness as their inputs have to be more precise.
7:09 this. Me and my friends didn't play CS for a long time and decided to jump into CS2 for old times sake. Turns out, one friend of ours was unable to play because his game kept crashing due to the graphics.
Thank you for touching on the issue of players with low-end pc. I used to be able to play csgo with my duo with no issues but now they can’t even run the game without facing severe lag issues. Hopefully valve finds a work-around with this problem.
My internet isn't great, and the new ping system feels horrendous in cs2 when you don't have good internet. Honestly, I wouldn't have an issue with cs2 existing, but the killing off of csgo is something that I don't support, and there's enough I dislike in cs2 that I'm not playing it. I started playing cs source again, and I honestly like it better than I ever liked csgo and cs2.

If there's one thing I'd like, it's for Competitive/Premiere mode to give you a rank after 10 matches played, not won. I'm on the opposite side of Warowl - a Silver 1-3 that likes the game and wants to get better at it, but for now, I've been in a couple of even matches, and the rest are curb-stomps. There's always a player that doesn't belong, being either way stronger than everybody else, or someone (usually me) finding themselves in the middle of coordinated smokes/flashes/pushs while I barely know how to hold my gun. That's kind of sort of normal at the start, buuuut it also means that the lower-skill players have to go through a lot of games to actually get ranked and matched appropriately against people of roughly their levels. Either by having even matches by chance, getting carried through the wins (which is a _horrible_ feeling), or waiting for the ranks to settle, which could take some time. I don't mind if I'm, like, 500 points on Premiere with a 3-7 win/loss ratio on those 10 matches, I'll gladly take it and grind my butt off from there. But _getting_ there at this point is going to be an exercise in endurance. And yeah, I know playing with stronger players makes you learn faster and can sometimes give you tips if your teammates are friendly, but that's the exception rather than the rule. (I'll also fully admit that I'm a masochist for going straight to Premiere, but I like having to go for every map and not being "limited" by 1 rank per map and having a more general skill assessment.)
Map specific ranked dont work any better, i was le on csgo and cs2 thinks i deserve silver 4 even tho last game where i got my rank avg csgo rank was something like LEM, so looks like cs2 is throwing 95% of players on silver ranks.
The day of the release hit reg definitely felt crisper. Not GO crisper but better. The biggest problem is when hits are calculated sub-tick but the firing animation is the next tick. It makes spraying feel weird
I saw other content creators criticize the game but your way of explaining what you like and what you don't like is, by far, the best one. There's a lot to come, and it's going to take time. But I'm sure Counter Strike is here to stay for a long long time
Tracers are absolutely a problem, I noticed spray control is way harder because my eyes default to relying on the tracers, and so it’s really annoying. It just felt like they added tracers for the sake of graphical fidelity.
tbh even if tracers were not totally accurate in csgo either thats pretty much how i learned to spray, i could not spray in CSS at all when csgo had tracers it finally clicked for me
Tracers look perfect to me, turn on folow recoil on crosshaire, they match, and the bullets go on top of the tracers. Crazy how thats the problem u have and every one of my games is getting insta peek head shot no matter ware i am in the map, Games trash
The biggest change for me is not being able to see how much damage you did to which enemy mid-round anymore. This must be a massive inconvenience and I'm surprised this is not being talked about much. Is this being removed for good?
this is something that was always disabled in more competitive modes like faceit and also at tournaments, makes sense to me to remove it from comp as well
It was a huge info for your teammates if you knew how much damage you did to which enemy after dying just by opening up the console. I'll have to get used to it even though it inconveniences me. But I think it's a good change. Neither I nor my enemies now know the HP mid round if it wasnt an obvious shot (scout body shot for example). So you can definitely use that for your advantage, knowing your enemies don't really know that you're low on HP
I'm not a great player, but I do struggle a lot more on CS2 with my favorite weapons, such as the MP9. The new bullet traces are completely confusing when trying to aligning the shots.
Thought the same but after 20-30 games I dont notice much difference at all, it was way more confusing during beta than it is now. Ive noticed I've ended up playing all kinds of weapons I'd usually avoid as well which is great
I thought I was the only one having problems with MP9. I used consistently dink multiple people with it in CS GO and even get multiple kills sometimes. In CS 2 I'm barely getting even 1-2 hits with it.
Bob settings, war games, viewmodel recoil, workshop, are some of the things Im waiting for them to add, also hope they are working on a new operation, its been two years since the last one.
I mean, I was headed for Nuke and found myself under the Mirage map. I also got a Mirage... mirage on Dust II with random props spawning in. That was something new, right?

@@GreatlakessailingOffice looked so great in Source with that blue and wood coloring. The backrooms gas station bathroom color palette of CSGO Office sucked, but fortunately the CS2 version looks much better.
The tracers are kinda weird. Throw on a mac10 or mp9 and you literally can't miss if you use the tracers as an aid. But on the ak and a4 it just throws you off, probably because you're seeing the tracers from 2-3 bullets ago, so you process it wrong and end up not pulling down enough or staying on one side of the spray for too long. I guess it might depend on the spray pattern for the gun because with the galil the tracers also feel pretty helpful. A lot of people I've talked to said the galil feels better but no one can really say why. Could be the tracers making them more accurate.
Personally i think the lack of left hand view model, is due to the smoke tracers. From the left hand, the position of the holes in the smoke might be different from the right hand due to the view model
I believe its because of now the players can see their own shadows and in csgo all viewmodel settings including left and right hand settings were only client (i.e only players themselves can see it) so holding the gun on left hand but seeing our shadow holding it on right would be very wierd... I also believe that now in cs2 player's own body is rendered for player's client itself for shadows because previously in csgo the engine doesn't render player's own body hence no shadow.
@@nanni5230 You're both right! Visually the bullet comes out of the gun, game play wise it comes out the head through the crosshair. Stand close to a corner, aim just off the edge and watch the bullets go through the wall.
tbh the most painful part is the home button on the menu being all the way to the left when the inventory and such is top middle... that or the removal of factions (though we might get them back with new models)
That's a regular design choice and has no dark patterns in it. The home button is clearly an icon, and it's beside the other icons. All web pages, including TH-cam, has the home button on the top left. Also, you barely interact with the home button. You can do nearly everything you can do in the home screen and more, via the Friends sidebar.
the most painful thing is how they changed the buy menu causing me to buy a taser when I want a p250 or a flashbang when I want armor XD good thing they have the refund option now though...
One thing I’m not a super big fan of is that they got rid of map based Ct and T skins, I get that its a very minor part of the game and it doesn’t do much. Nobody had a problem with the default skins as they worked well for the maps they were on. Dark SAS on bright orange mirage for example. I feel like it would be very easy to port over to CS2
Would of liked to see left hand view models regardless of what they are working on for it. Been playing CS with the left view model since 2014 and I’m playing so much worse without it
I would switch view model position based on what angles I was peeking/holding. Having screenshake and a massive weapon model blocking 1/3rd of the screen constantly is very frustrating

So many freezes/crashes and random disconnects for no reason other than "game said no" fingers crossed they fix these issues in time but I hate the idea CSGO worked perfect 99% of the time yet CS2 is a 50/50 coin flip on whether it's going to perform well on that day.

The only really terrible thing is the removal of the original CS:GO. It's the same that happened with Overwatch and I hate it, it's a removal of the game's history and is detrimental to the growth of CS 2's meta. Having the original CSGO be playable and testable would work as a static base to test features since the game wouldn't update anymore.
I was so surprised the game launched, for the past few days I actually still thought it was in beta... it really should still be an open beta, this isn't finished. Bare minimum we at least need everything that was in CSGO
I thought people were being silly for thinking valve would completely overwrite CSGO with CS2 when its release was teased last week, at least when CS2 isn't ready to replace it yet. Like, it's good that they are releasing CS2 for everyone but come on guys, they would be insane to do that! Guess I'm naïve...
I disagree. By replacing CSGO with CS2, the team is now getting more and more knowledge about the weaknesses of the code. SAme time, they are under more pressure to get things done, because there is "no other option" (CSGO). I hope that, with the immense feedback of the whole player base, the game will quickly grow in features and stability.
We are currently on Oct 2 build, game is getting better with each build. I hope they do something about player collision, its throwing my player in different directions when running alongside teammate.
i was sad to see that community maps are gonna come later, i feel like it's such an integral part of cs to spend a few minutes warming up before hopping onto a match or adjusting your crosshair
Iv got a lot of faith in cs2 but I’m a bit anoyed with especially sprays and getting shot behind stuff. It also feels like I’m hitting and missing shots I should not be. Overall I am optimistic and can’t wait to see where it goes from here!

@@Diopside. I hope they fix that and the spray. I point blank was spraying someone yesterday. And every butler missed. It was point blank I was aiming st his feet snd didn’t get the kill very very frustrating. Even my opponents were a bit confused.
@brian1were Information to the player is still sent at 64 ticks while information like when you shoot is processed immediately, meaning there is a delay between when you actually died according to the server and when you get that information yourself. It's causing people to die in situations where they were behind a wall fairly commonly.
My first reaction to not wanting to win 10 matches on a map was a very valid counterpoint. With how long term we've played the game before without our rank resetting, imagine the gratification of ranking up on a series of maps in one day after practicing something new, or just in general play seeing where your weak points are in terms of rank, etc. But for one off players, the ranks per map are never going to matter and they'll sabotage queue into premier anyways.
In online chess when you open an account it gives you a visible temporary estimated elo rank and when you’ve played 10 games or so it gives you your actual rank even if you’ve lost them all. This would be SO much better imo. Especially if there are going to be multiple season per year.
i was mainly excited to see what they could do with new gamemodes and stuff with the new engine. i was actually for once excited about how much smoother dangerzone could be on the new engine for example. but all we got was a slightly reworked mm experience
Something is off with animations or server-client updates. There are far too many moments where your kill or death is substantially delayed by at least 100ms. This is multiple ticks worth of server updates that are just not being utilized. I don’t remember that happening in CSGO much even on 64 tick. Surely the sub stick window of 15ms in between ticks is not the issue as at most the difference between subtick information and the old plain tick update rate is at most 14ms. I hope this is fixable because I don’t think even 128 tick will be able to solve this problem. I don’t care about the lack of new content but I think the map pool needs rotation. Nobody wants to play Anubis, Ancient, and Vertigo. We need Train, Cobble, and Cache back.
pros: game looks pretty, fps is good cons: every single issue that plagued the game before is still there with half fixes or no changes at all the overwatch 2 experience all over again minus new content
Any plans for a return to counter strike refresher video, with how the new stuff works and refreshers of the old with new considered (like utility, weapon loadouts with economy and team roles, new competitive systems, etc)?
I really love the starcraft soundtracks that you use. Talking about a game i played for my whole life while listening to music from another game i played my whole life is amazing
I don't think the skins are what is holding csgo's existence back. There are other games, made by valve, on steam that share inventories with specific items (limited few tf2 hats in portal 2 co-op) they could have ported all the skins into the new "cs2 inventory" and added a little piece to the description for the old csgo skins "also usable in csgo" this way they wouldn't have to worry about reverse porting skins or anything like that. I think the real reason is they don't want another community split. Think back to when csgo came out and how many people stayed on css, and even before that when css came out... they just don't want that to happen again so they forced everyone to move on
The DM map groupings are great. When all the maps where available I mostly ended up with mirage and dust 2, if not people would vote to change the map to them. Now I have the option to avoid them all together.
I instinctively follow the tracers as it makes sense thats where the shot would go. This has messed me up massively with the AK, but all other weapons seem to be fine. Galil seems far more spot on, M4 seems good so I'm wondering if this is just limited to the AK specifically.
Yeahhh I agree with you. I personally after playing quite a no. of matches will say the AK feeels way more hard to control than it did in CSGO. Specially the part where you have to control the recoil, but your brain insticts lead you to follow the tracers coming out of the gun which mislead you. I many a times hit headshots where I thought I whiffed and am surprised. The Vice Versa is alsoo true tho..
My friends and I got super excited when CS2 dropped. My friend, with 100 hours in the game, was matched against players with 3000+ hours. We haven’t played since Thursday. it’s going to be difficult to convince him to play this game if that continues to happen
As he said, its not much fun for both sides. I have 3k+ hours and I always have to play with people who seem to be playing the first time or had low ranks in csgo. I had games where I had 40+ kills and the rest of my team had under 10 (we lost btw...). I wouldnt complain if these stats would actually seem to matter for your rating but some of my friends got a 2k rating so I believe the system is just a bit broken currently.
the biggest problem for me is the lag spikes that i get and die because of, and the game is just laggy sometimes which never existed in global offensive lag spikes are a big nono in a comp game
They did remove Danger Zone as well. I haven't seen (or least read into patch notes for not playing in a long time) anything that explained why... So that was an interesting removal for CS2.
@thorjelly fair enough. I enjoyed it with friends from time to time but it's a BR and they get old quick. Hope they come up with something new this time though!
Left handed models would mess the smoke penetration thing. You could spam the left right hand model and make a huge whole on the smoke. Think about it I think it wont happened at all
While your shots come from your face the smoke holes are actually hardcoded to appear _slightly_ offset from your crosshair, a little bit to the right. Used to be that it changed depending on your viewmodel offsets as well. I assume this is done to prevent getting an _incredibly_ clear view when firing through smoke.
@@Max-oo1xw The animation clearly has the hole on the smoke displaced to the right side and lower than your eyes. Thats why you don't see perfectly through the hole. Go into a server a try it out and try to notice the hole in the smoke
It's so frustrate that I can pick only a few weapon out of all the circle that I used to have. Sometime the game really want me to pick nagev for a reason 🔥
I like how it works with pistols. Now I can have both CZ and 5-7. Rifles are fine. But there are too many SMGs, LMGs and Shotguns for 5 slots. I think game needs more mid-tier slots.
Yeah I can agree. I stopped counting how often the enemy shots apparently still hit me when, on my screen, I was already behind a massive stone wall...
My biggest complaint is not having the ability to boot up private matches with friends. I sometimes just want to run an aim map to warmup with a couple friends and can’t currently.
@@lorenzooliveira1157 I completely agree. CS2 is a major improvement overall to csgo. They probably could have benefited from waiting to release the whole thing a bit longer though. Either way, I'm loving it so far.
The lack of support for Community Servers and Workshop maps is the worst part in my opinion. Community servers is what makes CS so distinct from most other games but I guess it isn't important enough to even mention. Damn.
new sub here because I watch your previous video last time and thanks for this video now I know about CS2 can't wait to play with you soon I'm a CS player since 2020 hello from the Philippines
My heart goes out to the guy that made the rouge-like map for CSGO. Yeah we knew CS2 was coming, so it would get less traffic, but Valve just removing CSGO is such a weird choice, and now nobody can play it Anyway, new game just feels weirder, and a lot less consistent then CSGO did, and lacking net_graph also doesn't help. Sometimes the game just drops from 120 fps to 30 (where CSGO was a stable 250-300), and sometimes it feels like my ping skyrockets, but the only way to check is on the scoreboard, which updates really slowly, and not really something I can check while peeking a corner
You are so correct about how CSGO vanishing feels... wrong. All the time I spent on that game is gone now and it fills me with bittersweetness and nostalgia. The maps from the workshop are also gone and I might get to never play my favorite maps again. I play on a low end laptop as that is what I can afford at the moment, and running CS2 is very hard. I get very low frames and saying the game is unplayable is an understatement. It just feels weird to see a game disappear you played over many years.
I really like the chess analogy. In chess the opening moves are all known, the middle of the game can either go down a familiar route or a new path, and no endgame state is the same.
Actually endgames are very similar. One of the easiest ways to gain rating in chess is to study endgame knowledge and then play a very passive game trading into a equal/slightly favoured endgame and closing it out.
I think CS2 full release was, for all intents and purposes, an open beta. I can understand the pressure on valve to fully release and I believe they wanted to release it "in time" and release the rest of the modes and for them that was just easier to release it fully than call it a 'beta' and have everyone whine about it. I believe by the end of the year itll all be ironed out.
People are embarrassingly impatient too honestly. I miss cl_bob, left handed viewmodels, more than a couple maps etc. as well but I'm just sitting here vibing knowing that it'll all be sorted soon. Every update so far since the beta went sorta public has just been a positive experience IMO. I mean people can scream and cry as much as they want over it, I don't care, but I find that overly dramatic BS so silly
@@whatareyoudoingthis4 no - we set the expectation that this kind of behavior is okay. What the fuck happened in the past few years where it became acceptable to half release a game. As a corporation you need to be responsible for doing your own in house beta testing. When you say a games coming out, Im not saying it has to be perfect, but it should be *finished* - what if a doctor looked at you and said..."well, I don't REALLY know whats wrong cause I didnt finish my degree yet but as I study, Ill be able to give you better more accurate info about your diagnosis....", thats a shitty doctor...same for an architect, lawyer, janitor or GAMEDEV The only time releasing an unfinished game to the public is acceptable is if you're an indie dev studio....not now, not valve
@@wetter4293while this might be true globally we as gamers let them get away with this. And there's a reason for it. We don't care. There's too many opinions out there. And people will play the game and spend money on skins. No matter what game it is
@@wetter4293 the fucked up thing about the cs community is the bitchiness, i agree the game should have been better and more complete, but honestly after extensively playing cs2 it's not even close to being as bad as people say it is, and the fucked up part is everybody or close is wrong to why certain things are not working well, the amount of dumb shit i see on reddit and youtube by "community figures" who are genuinely talking out of their ass and quite often complain about an issue that doesn't exist is just sad, im not trying to say valve did perfect , far from it, if i had to decide i would just release a fully open beta and slowly work towards the end of the year, with that said what you said is true but you also have to remember how much people have been bitching about source2 constantly, every single day for years now, i think valve didn't do well but this community is honestly kind of embarassing, especially people like s1mple who can provide feedback to valve he just cries on twitter lmao, also valve has HUGELY improved cs2 with very frequent updates, when you take all that into consideration idk man i feel like the cs community is so childish
I feel like the hitreg is improved from usual 64 tick but from 128tick its not. I train aim alot (Like really alot) and I feel like this improved the consistency. But sometimes the visual feedback lags behind making it seem like your hit behind walls and stuff
Been really frustrating experience for me. I never had network issues in CSGO but in CS2 every match my ping is 20-40 higher than anyone else and it seems to make a massive difference. I am dying fully behind cover a lot more, getting killed by people peeking angles I am holding without seeing them. Hitting people behind where they are. Very frustrating to be forced into an incomplete game.
This is every kill I get and death. I kill people around corners and they do the same the tick rate is completely fucked 64 tick was better at registering and 128 tick like faceit feels WILDLY better than this shit
they need to fix the wall bangs. A lot of stuff that weren't able to shoot through are able now and I die a lot more from the edge of a wall or some box.
I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but for me the most annoying thing is to not now for sure hoe many enemies are left alive. Played csgo since 2016 and always just had the number up there, now I have to actively keep track and manually count the amount of heads up there in a clutch
Always played without number because during the game you have to learn how the other team plays. If B ancker just pushed and died, you know what to do. Same with lurker.
@@papahellmann Sounds pathetic if you're reductive about it. You could just show the individual rounds left in your magazine as well, but it's a terrible user experience, and a number makes more sense.
I honestly liked the tracers because they were very readable as far as someone shooting at me. So I felt like it was easier to tell where I was shot from. That being said, I’m not good enough for it to hinder me but still get that if your own tracers are not accurate, it can get confusing.
Disabling tracers in csgo only disabled the tracers you were shooting, it never removed them from the game, everything else was still normal- so you were able to really only remove the misinformation, thats what people are asking for now, there seemed to be no reason to remove this so people were pissed
I like it, but as a new game I expected a bit more. Matchmaking still feels very unfair and wonky. Whatever algo they use to determine skill and match people is not nearly as good as something like COD. In COD people actually get mad at how good it is! They should have just bought Faceit and integrated their tech into CS2. All their money, it makes so much sense. There also some things I was expecting to be new like weapon animations for example. 11 years old at this point. MW2019 raised the bar here and Valve needs to meet that. Maybe sell animations that have the same timing but look different? Id buy. Other things like deathmatch still having the same crappy spawns, limited modes (no gun game), no DM specific maps, AI still is incredibly dumb. I also kind of want some changes. Like we have had CSGO for 10 years. Introduce some new things, take some risks. Make some guns viable that are awful like the revolver or CZ. Consider riot shield? New equipment? Lets freshen it up! Of course respect what CS is but they can still add more.
Havent seen your channel like in 3 years that I stopped playing CSGO. I start back at CS2 and of course my internet mentor comes back. Always glad and looking forward to learning from you!
I've been getting brutal frame time stutters (AMD GPU). I can tell it's caused by shaders compiling, it has a certain feel to it. I did not have that in CSGO. It usually happens when viewing something on a map for the first time... like smokes, bullet tracers or... an enemy player. It's lost me pistol rounds on a few occasions. Now that it is first to 13.. pistol rounds are that much more important. It pushed me away from the game entirely. When there is enough competition on the market, you can't do stuff like this to your player base. Especially those with lower end hardware that cannot afford to upgrade. I paid for CS GO. I never agreed or consented to it being taken away. All the achievements are gone too. Any other company would be hung for this. Valve should not get a pass for ruining the game we all spent the last decade playing.
Warowl being a fair person and giving correct criticism as usual, also about the left handed thing is very interesting as it seems the smoke and bullet interaction is only "possible" if the gun is in the right hand where the holes are only accurate to the right side of your character. If they just add left handed it would make no sense where the holes are going because they are going through the right side you know?
the holes should be where the hitscan bullets are, the middle of your head, it's silly that they did it otherwise. and not worth killing left hand for.
Actually who cares if it looks weird, people were setting their view model left because the gun distracts your dominant eye that you use to take up information- this is counterstrike, people were playing 640x480 in 2023 still because they thought it was giving them an advantage- removing arbitrary things for no good reason will of course make people angry. It should be a choice, look weird but play better, or if it’s all about the visuals leave it and don’t turn it on simple.
I actually like the tracers. Not sure about how accurate they are, but they certainly help with recoil control. And in case you miss your shot and die, it's easier to understand why that happened with the tracers.
Yeah but why force it on everyone? Suppose you like tracers on and I like tracers off. Why remove the feature to enable/disable tracers, something that didn't break the game and also kept everyone happy?
@@rayunited2010foryou The CS GO community is notorious for crying about useless shit they don't understand. We still get complete morons claiming that CS2 has hitreg/tick issues when tickrate affecting gameplay has been something debunked since the early 2000s. @@elsienova4269 I am sorry, don't mean to be rude, but I didn't get your point at the end. And this option to remove first person tracers was there in CSGO. It didn't affect the game's outcome but helped individual players with the option to enable/disable first person tracers. It was pointless removing this option in CS2.
My biggest issue with the game is the sub tick system. I have over 100 clips where my awp shot goes through their chest and they don’t die. Or USP 1 taps me with full armor. Or I’m completely safe and all of a sudden I’m dead while I’m jiggling. This stuff didn’t happen in CSGO and shouldn’t happen in cs2.
One thing I’ve noticed is a feeling of imbalance for CT vs T economy and building momentum. I don’t know if it’s the reduced rounds or what but building momentum on T side feels much much easier than on CT. And losing Pistol is now not only a two or three round loss it feels a lot more painful than that - the the cost of losing round 1 feels like it drags on much further into the half in CS2 especially on CT. But then it might also be playing with a mix of ranks where economy management is much less common
@@vadnegru It's not, you can win and still save next round if you feel like that is better for the economy. You will end up with more money and more rounds
My favorite feature that I don't see anyone talk about is being able to edit loadouts, being able to have M4A4 and M4A1-S on CTs is really cool. As is being able to replace any pistol except the starter.

You are right, but it will either never come or not be switchable once the match starts
This and smoke spam. They would also have to change the angle.
I think it basically breaks the game or causes it to be unfair in certain scenarios.
It will be interesting your this gets implemented.
In csgo it was only local, so the conflict becomes real.
Would have been wasted effort to focus on those especially for new content like jailbreak, which the community will want its own way anyway
I agreee though the lack of maps is killer.

The CSGO team probably wanted and expected more upon release themselves. But often, software development timelines fall behind schedule and they said it was coming Summer 2023 so they were probably in a bit of a bind. I expect to see a lot of additions in the very near future.

One more issue I personally have is that they decided to remove being able to check how much damage you did in the console when you die, instead they show how much damage you did in the NEXT ROUND. War Games was unplayable due to hackers botting. I tried to join Wargames for an hour and got kicked from every server, and God forbid I have a server to myself some guy will join add his own bots then use them as votes to kick. Valve was doing absolutely nothing about it.

some things ive noticed with cs2:
1. hitreg is terrible, huge backtrack, people are getting shot behind walls.
2. same problem with awps, where the flick and shoot mechanic is severely changed by subtick, it is very inconsistent to hit flicks.
3. spray pattern, even though they say its not changed, it definitely feels different. there is a known difference between 64 tick spray and 128 tick spray, where 128 tick is slightly tighter, i believe it is the different with subtick.
4. movement, bhopping feels so impossible now before i can land 3 or 4 hops consistently on 64 tick now it is difficult to even start 1.
5. peekers advantage, probably same thing with subtick, but everyone is ferrari peeking me. i feel like something is off with camera and player model, but i havent seen proof.
6. player model is still very clunky, especially the legs, when u counter strafe on a slanted surface, the legs glide around.
these are the definite cs2 mechanical differences, if yall seen some of this or have any other issues, let me know.
I have the same issues.. Just about everything you listed.
Getting dinked by people that aren’t even on my screen yet and missing AWP flicks that I should have clearly hit are definitely my biggest gripes.

100% with you on the tracers messing with my spray. Mac-10 feels especially bad with it for me personally.

The new bullet traces are completely confusing when trying to aligning the shots.
i'm in the same boat, I hit shots I feel should whiff and I whiff shots that the tracers go straight thru the enemies
Thought the same but after 20-30 games I dont notice much difference at all, it was way more confusing during beta than it is now. Ive noticed I've ended up playing all kinds of weapons I'd usually avoid as well which is great

You shoot from your head, the view model doesn’t change where you bullets come from or how the smoke holes are rendered
@@percilenis8464 the smoke holes are view model based and it's most apparent when shooting a smoke from a couple feet away
@percilenis8464 Stand super close to the smoke and you can see that what you said is not true

Been playing CS with the left view model since 2014 and I’m playing so much worse without it
not being able to switch between right/left is bugging me

I really love the starcraft soundtracks that you use. Talking about a game i played for my whole life while listening to music from another game i played my whole life is amazing
how do you not see this coming - valve always fucks up the updates
I don't think the skins are what is holding csgo's existence back. There are other games, made by valve, on steam that share inventories with specific items (limited few tf2 hats in portal 2 co-op)
they could have ported all the skins into the new "cs2 inventory" and added a little piece to the description for the old csgo skins "also usable in csgo"
this way they wouldn't have to worry about reverse porting skins or anything like that.
I think the real reason is they don't want another community split. Think back to when csgo came out and how many people stayed on css, and even before that when css came out... they just don't want that to happen again so they forced everyone to move on
It's safe to say that all other FPSes of Valve are dead. So people only interested in CS skins.

No, because the bullets shoot out of your head not your gun which means switching from left to right wont make any difference. Think about it...
While your shots come from your face the smoke holes are actually hardcoded to appear _slightly_ offset from your crosshair, a little bit to the right. Sometimes the game just drops from 120 fps to 30 (where CSGO was a stable 250-300), and sometimes it feels like my ping skyrockets, but the only way to check is on the scoreboard, which updates really slowly, and not really something I can check while peeking a corner
There needs to be more community support. I need a way to host my own server and add plugins to it.
Not having sourcemod totally sucks.
Simple in nature until you consider the possibilities and people are still discovering new ones about both games...too bad valve had to ruin it...
Actually endgames are very similar. One of the easiest ways to gain rating in chess is to study endgame knowledge and then play a very passive game trading into a equal/slightly favoured endgame and closing it out.
@@Naraga033 I was speaking more about the specific board/game state than tactics or approach.
Id rather they break their promises and focus on quality
When you say a games coming out, Im not saying it has to be perfect, but it should be *finished* - what if a doctor looked at you and said..."well, I don't REALLY know whats wrong cause I didnt finish my degree yet but as I study, Ill be able to give you better more accurate info about your diagnosis....", thats a shitty doctor...same for an architect, lawyer, janitor or GAMEDEV
The only time releasing an unfinished game to the public is acceptable is if you're an indie dev studio....not now, not valve
I never noticed the tracers and I have been complaining about my spray being bad ever since the update. I wonder if that’s what my problem was.
@@barnabyhughes2084peeker's advantage was always a thing, but it seems much worse in CS2.
wiggle peaking gives my ptsd now. The amount of times you die behind the wall is sad.
they need to fix the wall bangs.
There’s a little number under the score line so maybe try that until they add the other option back
This sounds so pathetic lmao I’m sorry🤣🤣🤣 “now I need to count” sorry bro, we’ll put up some candles for you later
Always played without number because during the game you have to learn how the other team plays. If B ancker just pushed and died, you know what to do. Same with lurker.
@@papahellmann no need for this
@@papahellmann Sounds pathetic if you're reductive about it.
Of course respect what CS is but they can still add more.
most people don't have a rank yet, think that's the main issue with matchmaking atm. and this new ranking system isn't exactly helping....
Valve should not get a pass for ruining the game we all spent the last decade playing.
i had the same but when i played for a little bit it stopped completely
Wait, so the shaders never stop compiling for you? Sounds like a serious bug in that case.
@@forwardtsender8573 It's a known bug for AMD video cards.... My buddy has a gtx1080 and doesn't have any problems. I've heard it's being fixed though
3:23 Source 2 SFM can open CS2 demos. So if things like edits are what you had in mind here, SFM can do that.
Valve adding the option to remove tracers will make it so youtubers and randoms will attack others for using tracers.
@@elsienova4269 While the rest of your comment is absolutely true and based I don't get the reasoning at the end either lmao
Same. I was AWPing and had the same experience. Shot after shot that by all observers hit...but no hit.
Explain to me how the Sub Tick system changes the damage of the USP? How would it one tap you with armor?
I've gone from being able to play CS:GO at 60fps on lower settings to just not being able to play CS at all.
they pulled an overwatch 2
One thing I’ve noticed is a feeling of imbalance for CT vs T economy and building momentum. I don’t know if it’s the reduced rounds or what but building momentum on T side feels much much easier than on CT. And losing Pistol is now not only a two or three round loss it feels a lot more painful than that - the the cost of losing round 1 feels like it drags on much further into the half in CS2 especially on CT. But then it might also be playing with a mix of ranks where economy management is much less common
It really feels like if you lost pistol on ct, you BETTER loose 2 next ones, because if you win one of them, it really messes up the economy
They should just copy economy from Valorant when they did 13 rounds...
@@vadnegru It's not, you can win and still save next round if you feel like that is better for the economy. You will end up with more money and more rounds
@@qsafex the problem is, my braindead teammates buy m4 after pistol win, so loosing it means double eco/force+eco
Can we talk about the bullshit -500 elo if I lose +100 if I win every time people break out of 4000?
My favorite feature that I don't see anyone talk about is being able to edit loadouts, being able to have M4A4 and M4A1-S on CTs is really cool. As is being able to replace any pistol except the starter.
Having a different version of the same gun in favor of getting rid of the option to use a wider variety is whack
