It's a very good value, I use mine for fishing on brackish waters and at that length with the distances you need to cast, 2 grams it's low enough for the minimum you will throw, also this rod can catch/hook largemouth bass fairly well so someone that can't or don't want to go over 50$ this is a good value rod.
A good back up option for the Zero, I will probably have this setup more for a back up to take with me rugged up with a different lure to the Zero. I think the Exbert with the gold handles looks alright on it.
@@yep.fishing Exbert shoulg be good, I also think a 100 size "BFS" reel suits it better, because it can overpower a DWU clone if you can't afford to give to much drag to your fish.
Yea that's one thing that puts me off this rod. I had a bit of a cast and it's casts good, long, cheap and low casting but not a fan of the squishy bit and full length cork knob is a big ugly for a long butt.
Nice video Jacob! I’ve had this rod sitting in my cart for ages, but never quite tempted enough to hit the checkout button. Good to know it offers solid value. Thanks!
I've been looking for longer BFS rods over 7' (2.1m). This would be great for salt water surf fishing where you need the casting distance. Thanks for reviewing.
Nice looking rod and good price point. I don't really care for baitcasters as you know, so what reel would be a good fit in your opinion? Great job Jacob!
It comes in a spinning reel version also. But there are a lot more spinning reel options for light lures, especially when it comes to longer rods. Kastking Valiant Eagle 2 would look good on this rod. Even that Exbert budget reel I reviewed recently.

Cast X would be good also
@@yep.fishing yes
Or a man sort, but I’ve hear bad things about
Crazy how squishy that cork is!

Thats a nice rod, need an on water test video of this 7 feet BFS rod.
Congratulations on 2k
Yea I will get around to a test video. What do you want to see? Casting 2, 6 and 10 grams?
@@yep.fishing 2g would be nice. My range for BFS is 2 - 5g
I will try but I’m predicting it would be better in that 3-6 range.
Cheap and good, nice find!
This one is ticking all the boxes for a best budget long and fast action!
Thanks, as long as people aren't turned off by the looks (which I'm a stickler for) then it's a great long option for sure.
That reel seat looks pretty cool 👌. Would definitely be fun to chase some trout or Redfin on these rods.
The Purelure Cedan I unboxed has a genuine Oak wooden reel seat. Just uploaded on tiktok a catch with it. Getting footage for the review video :)
@@yep.fishing How good 🙌
You going to try for some trout ? I assume you have the same season for trout in Vic?
Nice video Jacob! I’ve had this rod sitting in my cart for ages, but never quite tempted enough to hit the checkout button. Good to know it offers solid value. Thanks!
Yea I bet you would have if it was prettier?
YU-SHOUDUS! lol. Jokes aside gonna have to fully watch after I get situated… just got back from my trip and have signal again…

Depending on your budget the Tsurinoya Fox Hunting may also be worth a look.
@@yep.fishing For sure. I saw a recent review on that rod as well.
@pacman_17 I have been meaning to get that for a long time. I actually posted about it and then rawr did a video on it after he commented on my post.

@@yep.fishing Thanks for that, looking to get something for the upcoming Trout season.
Spinning rod? What length do you like? Something you want to cast far or something shorter? I can recommend some stuff.
@@yep.fishing Yeah, a spin rod and looking for something all around. A bit of lake fishing, but also some creeks.
6’ might be a good length, not too long, not too short. Are you going to be lure fishing or bait fishing?
If the right reel is but on that rod I’m sure it will look pretty nice.
I will try the Exbert reel.
Been looking for a longer rod with a fast action . Purchased the sougayilang 7ft rod but it's a buggy whip action .not pleased whatsoever
That's one brand I avoid they are legitimately "cheap" rods
