Even mainstream secular scientists claim that approx. 95% of the Universe is still unknown (i.e. Dark Energy and Dark Matter). Of the remaining 5% of the Universe, only 0.0035% exists within the visible light spectrum which the human eye is capable of observing. Moreover, of all that is made of atoms and capable of being observed in this "Material" universe, 99.999999999% is actually empty space (i.e. "Non-material"). Therefore, there is much, much more that humanity does not know about the Universe and Reality than it does know. Based on just this information, the position of claiming to be Atheist is shown to be illogical, irrational and unreasonable.
The illogical, irrational, and unreasonable position of claiming that there is No Universal Mind / Consciousness / Intelligence (i.e. Atheism): The fallacy is the assumption that something is true (i.e. Universal Mind / Consciousness / Intelligence does not exist) unless proven otherwise. The Claimant making a negative claim (i.e. Universal Mind / Consciousness / Intelligence does not exist) cannot logically, rationally, and reasonably prove nonexistence. Because, for a Claimant to know that X does not exist would require the Claimant to possess 100% knowledge of all things with 100% certainty and 100% accuracy (i.e. omniscience).
Over the millennia, connotations of the word "God" have become so deteriorated. The terms Consciousness / Mind / Intelligence seem more relevant for these types of discussions. It seems that the concept of God is not experimentally testable. However, evidence for the effects of Consciousness / Mind / Intelligence are scientifically demonstrable.
*_“… Every one who is seriously engaged in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that the laws of nature manifest the existence of a spirit vastly superior to that of men, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble.”_* Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955), founder of modern physics (Theory of Relativity inter alia) and 1921 Nobel prize winner
*_“All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind (i.e. Observer). This mind is the matrix of all matter.”_* Max Plank (the Father of Quantum Physics)
Modern scientific discoveries in Genetics (i.e. biology) have shown that functional / coded / digital Information (i.e. DNA code) is at the core of All Biological Systems. Without functional / coded / digital information, there is No biology. The only known source (i.e. cause) in the universe that has been Observed (i.e. Scientific Method) in nature to be capable of producing functional / coded / digital information, such as that found even in the most primitive biological systems, is mind / consciousness / intelligence.
During an interview, when asked if the genetic code is really a code, Dr. Richard Dawkins answered, *_“It [the genetic code] is a code. It's definitely a code.”_* (Source: Jon Perry - Genetics & Evolution Stated Casually TH-cam Channel Interview with Dr. Richard Dawkins on 4-2-2022. Dr. Richard Dawkins is widely regarded as the world’s foremost expert on Darwinian Evolution)
The fact that DNA / genes (biological coded information) exists at all shows that a Consciousness-'Intelligence-Mind' is involved in the initial introduction and subsequent propagation of living systems. Un-directed random material natural processes have never been observed in nature or experimentally demonstrated to be capable of producing Functional / Coded / Digital information such as that required for biological systems, even at the most primitive levels of biological life.
*_"Language: All Digital communications require a formal language, which in this context consists of all the information that the sender and receiver of the digital communication must both possess, in advance, in order for the communication to be successful."_* (Wikipedia: Digital Data) Inherent in DNA is language. Language is scientifically proven to be the product of only Mind/ Consciousness / Intelligence.
Laws of the Universe exist Independent of anyone's personal beliefs in the existence of the Laws of the Universe. Just as man-made laws govern society globally, Universal Laws govern the entire Universe. Un-directed random material natural processes have never been observed in nature or experimentally demonstrated to be capable of producing any form of laws. As scientifically confirmed, non-material laws are the product of only Mind / Consciousness / Intelligence.

Best guest ever Beckett! I am such a apologetic fan of Hugh Ross... I have reread his book lights in the sky and Little Green Men three times... I teach it to my high school students at our Christian School. Several people I know have bought it. I read his book the fingerprint of God years ago when it came out and I still have that copy! His books have opened up so many doorways for me to witness to people who are atheist. Thank you for having him on your show!

@@wantlessworkless.2558 Hi, yes you are correct. That sentence is not written in the bible, word for word. If you replay the video just a little bit before that part, you hear Dr. Hugh share his understanding of the moral message of God's word. I'm curious to know, after you have read the Bible, what do you think God's message is to all of us?

@@clearhope1092 If you take off the rose coloured glasses, resist the cherry picking and don't ignore the bad bits , the Old Testament is not the best thing to read for acquiring good morality.
I get tired of listening to all the "interpretations" that try to make it more palatable but to me the Bible was written to be adhered to literally .........the words were never meant to be interpreted .
For instance, the man who was found collecting sticks on the sabbath, Moses asked God what should be done with him and god told Moses that he must be put to death for working on the sabbath. No second chance and no appeal for mercy , SO how many Christians have ignored Gods word and worked on the sabbath ?

@@wantlessworkless.2558 I see the point you're making. Maybe the issue that we're having, (not me and you, but everyone in general who's making these kinds of points) is interpreting the story of the God of the old testament verses the Christian representation of the same God, Creator, redeemer. I have read a good amount of scripture out of curiosity, and I still have questions. If God is who others have said he is, I guess we'll all find out some day, maybe.

Albert Einstein said in an interview "As a child I received instruction both in the Bible and in the Talmud. I am a Jew, but I am enthralled by the luminous figure of the Nazarene.... No one can read the Gospels without feeling the actual presence of Jesus. His personality pulsates in everey word. No myth is filled with such life. Jesus is too colossal for the pen of phrase-mongers, however artful. No man can dispose of Christianity with a bon mot." - from What Life Means to Einstein in The Saturday Evening Post, October 26,1929

@@tstieber Define "actual judaism". Do you define it as "ethnic jews"? All different traditions of judaism have ethnic jews. Who says rabbinical judaism is the true one? There were many traditions of judaism who accepted Jesus as the messiaha, but they were exterminated by rabbinical judaism. *Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri* himself was an ethnic jew and rabbinical jew for most of his life, until he accepted Jesus as the messiaha at the end of his life, and all of his disciples now accept Jesus as the messiaha as well (One of his disciples said that on camera !!!).

Not really "HUGE" (in my opinion). God created science, so it's very natural for a scientist to believe in God, since they study His handiwork up close and personal! As a mathematics major (before becoming a Christian), I could easily see and believe in God by observing the beauty of mathematics -- I knew SOMEONE had to have created math. Lots of people believe in God -- that's a good thing, but the really important thing is to believe in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Merely believing that God exists will not save someone.

Another home run, Becket! I am a huge fan of Dr. Ross’. I have read several of his books which, in my mind, are classics……but my favorite one was his book, ALWAYS BE READY. It not only included his life’s story which was fascinating but also his thoughts and experiences with evangelism… Wow!! It’s as equally mind blowing as CREATOR AND THE COSMOS.. God has gifted him with an unbelievable mind…thats’s a given. But God has also equally given him a heart for people and God’s Word.
Thank you again, Becket for all you do! You are a treasure!!!

Besides the first three recommendations I haven't read the books. But they are on my booklist and they are worth considering, although I can obviously not personally attest to them. The first three recommendations I can attest though. Especially if you don't want superficial books. My booklist is well over 150 books and I could recommend more. But too much is not as helpful as a short list. That's why I selected the best over a range of topics.
_- Lysia McGrew_ has three good books on the historicity and reliability of the new testament.
_- Stairway to life_ is a great book on difficulties in abiogenesis.
_- Controversy of the Ages_ describes how Christians dealt with science over history and how old earth and young earth and stuff like that developed.
_- Darwin Devolves: The New Science About DNA That Challenges Evolution_ This book is about the experiments showing positive and negative mutations in Evolution.
_- Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth: Creationist Research_ The title says it all.
_- Crucifixion_ by _Martin Hengel_ Very in-depth on the crucifixion.
_- THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS: A NEW HISTORIOGRAPHICAL APPROACH_ Also very in-depth on the crucifixion.
_- The Big Book of Bible Difficulties: Clear and Concise Answers from Genesis to Revelation_ The title says it all.
_- Mind & Cosmos: Why the Materialist Neo-Darwinian Conception of Nature is Almost Certainly False_ The title says it all. If I'm not mistaken then this is not really a Christian book. But it is certainly against materialism.

My brother just sent me a an interview of Dr. Steven Boyd. Research Professor of Old Testament and Semitic Languages Executive Editor of the Creation Theology Society. Outstanding and enriching.
This was just when I was going through this interview with Hugh Ross. I was introduced to him years ago. I might not agree with his old earth creation beliefs. But I so admire him using his mind and challenging his fellow scientists towards the existence of a creator.
Ken Ham, another creationist and apologist. But a young earth creationist. Whom I seem to lean towards.
All in all, humans, we can never wholly agree with any at all points. But if the foundation is based on Jesus Christ, His gospel and on the inerrant Word of God, hey then that’s all that matters.
I love and admire all these incredible men of God. They are being used to draw many to the truth of the gospel. You too Becket!

It correctly states that land plants came before sea animals, Gen 1:11. It correctly states 4 starting conditions of the early Earth, Gen 1:2 and 10 Creation sequences in chronological order on the first page!!!!
How is that possible when it was written some 3500 years ago?
