I used to stay in Hasimara and I can confirm what sir has said. Hasimara is a place where there are many tea gardens as well as dense forests. People never used to out of the house after the dark in those villages as leopard, elephant as well as sometimes wild dogs used to roam. While coming back from my school I have seen leopard multiple times in the tea garden but I never heard of it harming the villagers. It is a very beautiful place for it has jaldapara national park near it.

my grandfather's brother has his home in alipurduar which is near Siliguri and yes it's true whatever he said i used to visit a lot when i was a kid and i had seen elephants travelling in a herd near jaldapara forest even there is gorumara forest then raja bhat khawa and i have also seen different army troops staying there or passing through the forest roads
I got my first NCC medal from colonel tusar sir in 2018. we had a great time with colonel Tusar joshi sir. really miss those day of ncc with sir. sir was our commanding officer at NCC unit 2 GUJ BN
