He relied on asking Orochi for a ship instead of finding a way to make their own? No other way to contact WB? Everything is just a little too convenient for how Orochi and Kaido came to power. It might pay off later, but as of now it seems like Oda is overdoing it on stacking the deck against the protagonists. Also, the chapter really should have been half a chapter. The flashbacks are being drawn out just a bit too much, IMO.

The two seas that surround both sides of the new world are the north blue and west blue, so sailing through the calm belt wouldn't work either. It's a miracle the ship that escaped Wano went so far actually. The only way I could see it happening is if they sailed through the calm belt into the west or north blues, then went through to reverse mountain into the paradise side of the grand line, then sail through the calm belt again into the east. Some secret Wano path would definitely be cool and convenient but I haven't seen hints to that even now two years later
It was a weird chapter, even though we know how Oden ended up, it's interesting to see this flashback. And also, as you said, our mighty GODA surprised us again with the barrier devil fruit, he can still destroy theories, it was totally unexpected and it still surprises me.
my theory on this is, that odens decision was influenced by his journey and the true history ect. Oden was adamant on keeping the borders open for joyboys return. Maybe the talk with orochi and kaido had wano itself at stake so oden didnt wanna risk the whole country. just my guess tho
for me the biggest reveal is that the bari bari barrier is actually indestructible. I think you mention this one time if kaido hits the barrier, it will still break, now I dont think so.
Well in Stampede, Bartholomew was damn scared of the meteor Issho brought. I would like to think that there is a limit of the force the barrier can hold up to. Oden is damn strong but not really at par with Kaido or Roger in strength (in my opinion at least). P.S. Bartholomew could also be scared because they were on an island and it would sink if the meteor hits, now that I think about it.
I wonder if Orochi would piss himself if he learned that Luffy has made allies of Fruit users who now use the fruits that got Orochi into his position.
A thought recently struck me. Did any of Kaido's captures happen over the period he was ruling over Wano? Because if so, his absence feels like the perfect chance for an uprising. And if not, that means he's probably gotten much stronger and his captures were all during his "weaker" youth on Rocks' ship.
i think his fight with wb happened during his ruling but i doubt the people were informed, remeber orochi control the news in wano so if kaido go missing for a few months the people wouldnt' easily find out plus there still the calamity and orochi troops.
I think his captures are referenced so when the SHs beat him, it's at least plausible. They way he has been built up, if he has never been captured or defeated at all, there would be too much trouble realistically allowing the SHs to beat Big Mom and Kaido and save Wano.

Hey Matt, a simpler solution for the barrier would be to just kill the old man when he puts a barrier up around Orochi. If I remember the rules of the fruit you can only have one barrier up at a time. Throw a sword at the old man, barrier goes down around Orochi, kill Orochi. Done.

Orochi most probably has Sukiyaki imprisoned rather than killed. At least, my theory is that Sukiyaki is still alive and once Kaidou and Big Mom fall or are driven away from Wano, Sukiyaki will be found and release from prison, made to be the Shougun again and once Momo has a few more years, he will then take over. @@MikePyse i don't think he's weak necessarily, i think he changed his style. He said that after losing to kaido he decided to go the route of a zombie army instead of being the strong one himself. We see that he used to be skinnier and wield a sword. He was a fighter. I always though it was clear that we weren't seeing the old moriah that fought kaido, but the new moriah who wanted to use a zombie army to beat kaido. I think the only reason he's back is to maybe let us see that old moriah in action. Hopefully.

Maybe not all of them but i believe if moriah is going to show up and confront kaido he would have to do it in a group with the rest of the gang. No clue how thats going to work out but i just don't see moriah beeing useless and flaccid for the rest of the series. He has the greatest reason to fight kaido of any character in the series. I'd say he even beats out momonosuke. He can't not show up. If he shows up he needs to confront kaido, and i don't see a point in that confrontation if he just gets his wig split.

I'd like to remind everyone we don't know how the fight between kaido and moriah went. We don't know how strong moriah was. We do know that moriah completely changed his style after losing to kaido. Bruh I was heartbroken when Oden started dancing in the street. I think Oden was forced into submission due to Kaido and his crew. Oden knew how strong an Emperor was and didn’t believe he would win, so he made a deal with Orochi. That’s my theory anyways Edit: I believe the deal consisted of Orochi leaving the people of Wano alone/not kill them. Another thought if the deal was to make a boat for the people of wano to flee, and explore the world.
That‘s unlikely. Oden has been built up as the kind of character who could beat everybody and survive even the craziest situations. There‘s definitely more to it.
I think oden would’ve preferred to die then back down. There’s more to it that he could not talk about. If he really feared kaido, he would not have gone to fight him with the scabbards at the end.
So that's pretty interesting. Not sure if we've had previous instances of this occurring but the fact that the old man and woman died on Wano (presumably) and yet their devil fruit powers ended up elsewhere is kind of telling on how they transfer. Perhaps it's not the nearest fruit but a fruit somewhere on the planet? (of the same kind they're always in)

I agree with you but some points to consider:
Yeah he coule have contacted others, but it might not be possible to contact them you know. Oden is horrible with directions so he can't navigate the seas, and we have not been shown any Den Den Mushi present on Oden (yet). As for Orochi, he could have killed him like you said but what after that? Kaido burns the whole country down and you loose half of the citizens. I just don't think Oden is going to make that deal.
But Oden is an idiot for not realizing his condition for 5 whole years lol.

Hey Matt, a simpler solution for the barrier would be to just kill the old man when he puts a barrier up around Orochi. If I remember the rules of the fruit you can only have one barrier up at a time. Throw a sword at the old man, barrier goes down around Orochi, kill Orochi. Done.

I have a major question, can Denjiro still be Ushimitsu Kozo the mysterious thief? Still don't know who that is and from what we got it could be Denjiro right? Ushimitsu seem to keep his identity mysterious and keep a very low profile too. I'm called that its Denjiro and will arrived in the final battle in an epic way.

Orochi most probably has Sukiyaki imprisoned rather than killed. At least, my theory is that Sukiyaki is still alive and once Kaidou and Big Mom fall or are driven away from Wano, Sukiyaki will be found and release from prison, made to be the Shougun again and once Momo has a few more years, he will then take over. Hey, anything is possible.

@@MikePyse i don't think he's weak necessarily, i think he changed his style. He said that after losing to kaido he decided to go the route of a zombie army instead of being the strong one himself. We see that he used to be skinnier and wield a sword. He was a fighter. I always though it was clear that we weren't seeing the old moriah that fought kaido, but the new moriah who wanted to use a zombie army to beat kaido. I think the only reason he's back is to maybe let us see that old moriah in action. Hopefully.

@@MikePyse no clue, but this kaido fight seems like it'll be a group effort. I think we might see a big team up between a bunch of strong pirates, namely kidd, law, luffy, hawkins, and drake. Maybe not all of them but i believe if moriah is going to show up and confront kaido he would have to do it in a group with the rest of the gang. No clue how thats going to work out but i just don't see moriah beeing useless and flaccid for the rest of the series. He has the greatest reason to fight kaido of any character in the series. I'd say he even beats out momonosuke. He can't not show up. If he shows up he needs to confront kaido, and i don't see a point in that confrontation if he just gets his wig split.
I swear the barrier barrier fruit being in Wano before the start of the series seriously surprised me and Tekking that bit with oden in that situation where he had to dance with that weird cloth made me want to bleach my eyes

I'm not sure if we'll see the flashback but moriah is coming back, I'm confident about that, and when he does I'm sure everyone will regret sleeping on him.

Bruh I was heartbroken when Oden started dancing in the street. I think Oden was forced into submission due to Kaido and his crew. Oden knew how strong an Emperor was and didn’t believe he would win, so he made a deal with Orochi. That’s my theory anyways
Edit: I believe the deal consisted of Orochi leaving the people of Wano alone/not kill them. Another thought if the deal was to make a boat for the people of wano to flee, and explore the world.
That‘s unlikely. Oden has been built up as the kind of character who could beat everybody and survive even the craziest situations. There‘s definitely more to it.
I think oden would’ve preferred to die then back down. There’s more to it that he could not talk about. If he really feared kaido, he would not have gone to fight him with the scabbards at the end.
Oden could easily defend himself from most of what Orochi could throw at him. But the people of Wano were another story.

So that's pretty interesting. Not sure if we've had previous instances of this occurring but the fact that the old man and woman died on Wano (presumably) and yet their devil fruit powers ended up elsewhere is kind of telling on how they transfer. Perhaps it's not the nearest fruit but a fruit somewhere on the planet? (of the same kind they're always in)
