So glad to see Star Tent here, as it's my personal favorite of all time. I love games based around finding an ideal order or pattern, which this let me do in spades. Fantastic list and video. Looking forward to your content throughout the year!
The most traditional and iconic side quest/mini game in the entire series has to be Link returning the chickens back to the barn. It wouldn’t be Zelda without scattered lost chickens or pigs lol 🐔🐷
Some favorites of mine: - The Goron race and Zora vs Beaver race in Majora's Mask because I love the rolling and swimming controls respectively - A Link Between Worlds' dash minigame where you sprint from one corner of Hyrule to the other, testing your precision with the Pegasus Boots, as well as both versions of Rupee Rush - Skyward Sword has my favorite Boss Rush since you get to melt early-game bosses with your fully powered Master Sword - Spirit Tracks has my favorite Archery minigame, since it's framed as breaking a Goron out of a Pirate prison. The targets are Mini-blins (the pirates), and Light Arrows allow you to line up multiple kills in one shot which is super satisfying. - On the topic of DS games, they did NOT need to go as hard as they did with the Maze Island in Phantom Hourglass. It's genuinely baffling how much more difficult that one location is compared to every single other challenge in this franchise. - An honorable mention to the Skydiving islands in ToTK that give you the gliding gear, because I just like the midair movement in that game. Honestly though I only did each of those games once just for their armor pieces.
I honestly wish they gave us even half a second more to complete it! It was so hard I almost gave up, and I had to look up strategies online, even if I'm a devout completionist.
Glad to see the MM shooting gallery get the recognition it deserves. OoT's fishing hole will always be an easy number one for me. Home to some of the most relaxing/easy going AND the most tense stressful moments in the game. It is the only minigame in the franchise that I can get completely lost in and end of playing for hours.
To me, TP has the best minigames. Star tent would be my number one, although I agree with the other places of your list. Glad to watch your videos again. Happy first week of the year.
I'd have to look at them all next to each other to decide a #1, but TP and MM would be my top picks for the Zeldas with the best mini-games. Also thank you and happy new year!
The Honey and Darling shop has a bubble blowing mini game where you’ve got to hit targets also, if you go there as deku link. Not sure if it’s just a 3DS inclusion or it’s in the original too, as I’m replaying Majora’s Mask again after like 15 years. ❤
-0:24 I needed a Sploosh Kaboom Probability Calculator to even have a chance of winning this somewhat quickly unless I want to spend hours failing. While you're not guaranteed to win with it, it does give you a decent chance of suceeding. -I don't think I even used horses outside of a few side quests in Echoes. -For some reason I can't perfect horseback archery on the PC port. It could be the controller I'm using. -I don't think I ever successfully pulled off the pumpkin throwing game. -I don't think I successfully pulled off that archery game in Majora's Mask either.
Milk Road gallery? I don’t think there is a gallery there. I think you’re getting Gorman Track or something at Romani Ranch mixed up with the Swamp Shooting Gallery.
This video just reminded me why I hate Zelda mini games. I know they’re a part of the games, but they are not for me. I generally hate them and this just reminded me why I skip them. The one that immediately came to mind when starting this video for one that was the worst was Star Tent. And it showed up at 4 on your list, whereas it was one of my most hated. This is not a critique of the video, this is just that I hate that aspect of Zelda games. Great video.
Thanks and that's totally fair! I do enjoy quite a few minigames, but they really aren't much other than palatte cleansers and even then they can be very annoying/frustrating if you're just after the prize they offer. Will probably do a list for the worst minigames at some point tbh

Squid Hunt is an extremely necessary ray of joy in a very dark moment of Wind Waker.
I personally loved the pumpkin pull on wii. Pulling back the nunchuck and feeling like a skilled archer is a core memory for me
That sounds equal parts fun and jank, but I'm sure it makes achieving a high score extra satisfying.
My favorite minigame is the pumpkin throwing in Skyward Sword, just the concept of Fledge as a character is hilarious to me
Glad others liked it too! I remember a lot of comments hating on it when I made my worst heart piece videos.
GOOD MORNING SQUAD!
Glad I had notifications on so I could wake up to this! Favorite game from one of my top 5 content creators. Amazing.
Appreciate you, hope you enjoyed the video!
@MrDrBoi I loved it very much! Was surprised at #1 but not unhappy with the choice. Great video.
Horse racing in EoW: where the short course was also the hardest, especially if you don't know a certain trick. 😬
True, getting the master time on the short course took me as the middle and long courses combined lol
I honestly wish they gave us even half a second more to complete it! It was so hard I almost gave up, and I had to look up strategies online, even if I'm a devout completionist.
@@Joee003 Yeah I agree, that time limit is way too tight, especially since this is supposed to be the easy course, heh.
Surprised TotK and BotW didn’t get any. At the very least that Rito gliding challenge one on Eventide was pretty fun.
I considered a few of them! Selmie's Shield Surfing was actually gonna be #10 until I remembered the Yeti Races, which I like a bit better.
I got a oled switch & totk for christmas & i been lost in hyrule ever since this game is so unbelievably fun

I've grown to love OoT's fishing hole, but I definitely hated it as a kid lol. It definitely was in consideration, along with TP's fishing hole.
Great way to start out the new year with a DrBoi vid!
Happy New Year! Hope you enjoyed!

If that's in the original it would blow my mind that I didn't know about after all these years!
Bro...I need that OoT texture pack. Great vid, and I agree with most of your top 10 (although I might reshuffle them).
It's called Ocarina of Time Reloaded. it's for the PC port, Ship of Harkinian
Thanks! Also Jolly already said it, but definitely look into the Ship of Harkinian. Definitely the best way to play OoT and Majora's Mask!

HES BACK ❤️❤️❤️
Happy new year!
Sound dampening foam on the walls will reduce the tinny vocals
Milk Road gallery? I don’t think there is a gallery there. I think you’re getting Gorman Track or something at Romani Ranch mixed up with the Swamp Shooting Gallery.
Yeah I'm not sure how I messed that up lmao, it's definitely the Swamp Shooting Gallery not the Milk Road Shooting Gallery.
How did you get OoT running at 60 fps?
Look up the PC port of Ocarina of Time called the Ship of Harkinian!

The shooting gallery is off the road to Southern Swamp, not milk road 😅
@@darrahsweet8810 lmao I can't believe I didn't catch that 😅
I sure hope someone was fired for THAT blunder...
