Next Friday the whole world is riding for this man. This was my first ever season riding the snow. N I fell in love with it. Thanks Jake for letting me ride.
Hey Burton I have been an admirer for many years i as a child was unable to afford a Burton board but I always dreamt of having one. I was always fascinated by boards on snow and I always knew Burton was the board to do it with. I saw the article just now on CNN and I was deeply saddened to hear The Most Swavy Gentleman I wish I could have met "Jake Burton" passed away. I am very sorry to your family. I wish I could have shook your hand and Thank you, your board allowed me to have some of the greatest experiences I ever had in my life. There was nothing and is nothing like it. The feel of the snow beneath your board the sound of the snow being shredded by your boards. Snow boarding is something I adore doing and wish I could do it more. And I Thank You for That For being a True Pioneer. I came here to Pay My Respects God Bless God Speed Shredd in Peace B.
Honouring Jakes memory I'm making a snowboard. Even tho dunno how but neither did he in the first place. From clueless to my personal hero! Thank You for all that You did for the sport. May You shred in peace! ✌️
While he did a tremendous amount for the sport, he is not the father of snowboarding. Milo, chuck or Tom and others could rightly claim that distinction.
R I P Jake, however your not the father of snowboarding but I do respect what you did for the industry except the part where most of are boards are garbage now made in China. Henri Nidecker is the father of snowboarding who founded the company in 1887 which are hand made in Switzerland till this day and it’s all I’ll buy.
R.I.P, Jake Burton... Rest in powder, Jake Burton...
R.I.P. JBC, this sport has brought me some of my greatest joys.

We were snowboarding on toboggans back in the mid 80s as kids , regardless of its history the evolution of this sport was inevitable
Surfing in powder . Snowboarding for me feels like riding and endless wave.
While he did a tremendous amount for the sport, he is not the father of snowboarding. Milo, chuck or Tom and others could rightly claim that distinction.
Then Who?
He made the first snowboard tho lol
2:59 sick butter
Rip jake :(
You really should remember flite snowboards out of Newport Rose island est 1974 Steve darah amazing company boats blew Burton out of the water

nidecker didn’t make a snowboard until the mid 80’s and made skis from 1912 and on
@@ducc1156 I’m fully aware of this however my cousin worked for Nidecker and they were experimenting with snowboards in the mid 70s
Dear jake in heaven, your wife and child destroyed the direction of burton ..
Rip
Burton didn't invent Snowboards or Snowboarding. It was a man and his daughter in 1965.
This is a lie snowboarding was invented in Muskegon, MI (my hometown) in 1965...
that was the snurfer, the precursor to the snowboard and what burton originally rode
@@ducc1156 I stand corrected. Thanks for the correction my friend…
