    Great channel with good, informative content! I’ve been considering switching careers lately and the idea of the flexibility and being able to work from home etc really appeals to me (disabled so it would work perfect). These videos have certainly helped me make my mind up so thank you! On the lookout for an online entry aat course as we speak

    Hi Rebecca.
    I love your channel - it has been a great help for me so far.
    I'm 26 and have just left the military after 5 years. I have a degree (in an useless subject lol) and want to become an accountant. I'm feeling unsure what my best next steps will be. Should I apply for a accounting trainee program at companies and see what they say, or would you recommend doing my AAT levels 2, 3 and 4 and then applying.
    Last question, so after doing AAT levels 2, 3 and 4 - would I be considered a qualified accountant at that point? Any help you can offer would be most appreciated. Thank you

      Hello there so firstly thank you for reaching out and amazing that you are considering a career in accounting. Secondly yes after completing aat level 4 you will be a qualified accountant and lastly definitely search for local accountancy firms and reach out to them through LinkedIn or other means to see if they are looking for a new hire as many will be

    Hello there, firstly thank you for your informative videos you put out there. Can you please give me your opinion. With someone who has only got GCSEs and no A levels what is the course of action you would take? I read some other comments where you need to do level 3 accounting and not only level 3 bookkeeping if you want to be a qualified bookeeper. What institutions would you go for and how to get work experience as many employers require this. Apprenticeships wont offer the apprenticeship role if you already did the course. This is coming from someone who has no knowledge or experience in the field. Also would you recommend this field to someone who is not too into number but don’t mind?

      Hello there well firstly you don't need to be too much into number grinding as its most important that you can problem solve above anything else :D I would highly highly recommend looking on the AAT website for an approved employer and for an apprenticeship role firstly with the AAT or ICB as getting that experience is absolutely key and will also ease you in to see if you really like the industry. Keep firing away with questions if you are not sure or have any others as I am happy to help.

    Hi Rebecca, another great video! I would your advice on something - I want to run my own practice eventually. It was my plan to study AT lv 3, then start a bookkeeping business while studying lv 4 and then providing full accountancy services. I am a little worried about lacking practical experience as I plan to self study at home. Alternatively I could persue an apprenticeship with a practice and then gain experience as I study but I worry this will take longer. What are your thoughts on this? (I would love to hear any advice you have). Thank you :)

    • @RebeccasFinanceTutorials
      @RebeccasFinanceTutorials  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Lee I would say getting that practice experience is really going to help you, not just from a point of doing the work but understanding AML and the HR side of running a business as well as the other aspects such as insurance etc. It can also assist with how to deal with clients and the type of clients you want to work with as well as billing and credit control internally too so if there is the opportunity to work in practice even for a couple of years I would take this up. I mentioned in an earlier comment that I have set up a landing page for employers and students / professionals to register their interest in obtaining a role as I am doing my best to put employers and candidates in touch with one another from those within my own network who run their own firms x here is the link in case you have not seen this: missfinancetutorials.podia.com/cc94d74d-b124-4831-8886-079bf01fe00e

      @@RebeccasFinanceTutorials Thank you so much for the quick reply. I have run my own business prior to changing to accountancy so I am comfortable with those elements, however I agree the practical experience could be very valuable. Thank you again for your reply. Lee

    Hi Miss Finance. I am currently debating whether to go into accounting or tax. I feel more drawn towards tax but get the impression that there is much more work in accounting. Based on your experience in the industry, am I completely off the mark on this?

    • @RebeccasFinanceTutorials
      @RebeccasFinanceTutorials  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Gordon I would honestly say it's 50 50 and there are plenty of opportunities in both. I love tax and I would have pursued a career in tax in another life as it can be incredibly interesting. I would say as a starting point go on indeed and Reed and have a look at the types of jobs and salary in tax and gain a better understanding of the differences between the two. What I will say is if you pursue purely accounting you can always specialise in tax at a later point x

    Great informative video. Is there a threat from automation?

    • @RebeccasFinanceTutorials
      @RebeccasFinanceTutorials  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi hun no if anything automation is simply replacing manual input of invoices for instance and assisting with reconciliation which is allowing bookkeepers and accountants to focus on providing commercial guidance and a better overall picture of business performance x

    Hi, I am currently studying for for AAT Level 3 in Bookkeeping, I have passed my level 2 in Bookkeeping. Do I need to study for the accounting Level 2 and 3 or is bookkeeping qualifications sufficient. Will I have to study the level 2 in accounting or could I complete the full qualification at Level 3. I am not working in the industry at the moment. Many thanks

      From my knowledge you would need AAT Level 3 in Accountancy to get qualified bookkeeping status (a little bizarre I know). It was explained to me as once you complete AAT Level 3 Accountancy (rather than just bookkeeping) you get AATQB. Though I'm guessing that the accounting version includes a little more in relation to accounting than the bookkeeping version, but not enough to require a higher qualification to it. Back in 2020 I wanted to fully into accountancy, so went that route. Due to bad experiences in an accounting firm, I am much happy having completed AAT Level 3 in Accounting and gaining AAQB and made the decision to not take my studies further. Much happier stopping after Level 3 and having AATQB than I would have been taking it further. Hope that insight helps XD

    Hi, I have recently completed AAT levels 2 and 3, and have started level 4. However, i have no experience of bookkeeping or accountancy. It seems most jobs out there require experience. What is the the best way to get into the industry? I was considering offering my services for free in order to get some knowledge.
