WW2 Re-enactment Battles & action exhibits.Mapledurham House .

Mapledurham at war 4th April 2015 & 17th april 2016 Mapledurham house, was the Location for the filming of "The Eagle has landed" starring Michael Caine, Donald Sutherland, Robert Duvall and Jenny Agutter etc. Over 500 re-enactors dressed in full WW2 battle dress performed live action battles around the Water Mill and a finale’ tank and infantry battle in spectacular style between artillery and foot soldiers with Allied & German troops, and many WW2 vehicles. is played out to a very noisy and enjoyable end to the day. If the battle scenes were not enough, there were numerous working side shows and static displays and hands on participation for all ages of visitors. This video was made in February 2021 at the request of my Grandchildren after I found a lost SD card containing the stills and video footage taken on the two days of April 2015 & 2016. Enjoy. I can’t wait for the next WW2 re-enactment to be performed at Mapledurham House & Grounds; it all depends on Covid19 I suspect.
