Much better video without background music. The sounds of nature and paddle in the water are more enjoyable...even the wind. Someone from NFCT work trip project I volunteered at this summer mentioned how pretty Lake Lila is. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching Glenda and I appreciate your honest feedback about the music. I tend to agree that the ambient sound of the water, wildlife and occasional paddle hitting the boat is more enjoyable too. This is the direction I intend to go for future videos. Please subscribe to the channel if you haven’t done so yet.
I will be in the area next week, the Cedar River Flow to be specific. Never been there before and I am really excited about it. I was wondering, should I be concerned about bears? Thank you.
We have a healthy population of Black Bear here in the Adirondacks but it’s nothing to be overly concerned about. Bring some Bear Spray and knowing how to properly hang a bear bag would be a useful skill to have. Have a great trip!
@@AdirondackAdventures Just came back from there. OMG. What a trip. From now on a week spent in the Adirondack area will be my annual thing. Already made a plan for next tear, either the Oswegatchie or Raquette River.
I was fishing out of my OT Pack today. In a month I will have had it 15 years. Easily the best boat I've owned in 4 decades of fishing from canoes and kayaks. I hope I'm paddling it for decades more. I've never been that far north like you are... but I saved this video and maybe I'll take my own Pack canoe there. Thanks for posting it!
@@AdirondackAdventures well, the easy answer is anything that bites, haha. I usually start out with a species in mind...bass or stripers or even trout. If it works well that day I'm good... but I always have an ultra light or 2 with me rigged up for panfish. A fly rod usually goes along and if it works out...I love using that from the canoe. I always say it's a Blessing to be out there when I get the chance - I'm lucky to love A sport I van do forever!
Thanks for watching! Campsites on Lake Lila are first come first serve. Midweek is usually safe but it’s become an increasingly popular ADK canoe camping destination. Well worth the extra effort!
Knowing there are so many minty RX canoes in garages all over the country, longing to be in the water, keeps me up at night. If anyone has, or knows of a Pack, Hunter, or 15' Camper or anything close in RX from MR, Dagger etc. being held prisoner, ready to escape, it would really help me get some sleep. 😏😉
I love the Pack canoe. Bought one used but was in mint shape, 33 lbs. and I take it everywhere. Loved it so much I bought the big brother “Osprey” and it is only 55 lbs but seats 3. Middle seat is set up to row. I have a 17’ bass boat I was not using much, bought the pack and now fish April--October (3x week). Every person I have read about that did own one said they regretted selling it. Great solo canoe and great video. The Adirondacks are on my bucket list coming from Eastern Mass.
Really hard to predict how busy it will be at any given time especially in the summer. No cell service anywhere back there. I carry a Garmin inReach device to communicate via satellite and in case of emergencies.
Way cool! Great vid! Been there, & you nailed it. We went in Canoes & Kleppers 10 years ago. Lila is the best.
I love Lake Lila!
Beautiful day....great sharing...you have a wonderful activity and ispiring many people to have their beautiful day ...happy summer
Thanks for the comment!
Nice trip. Can’t wait to get there again.
Lake Lila is awesome!
Was there many years ago with a buddy - need to go back. Thanks for the visit
The place is just magical!

Awesome! especially that brook! i am hoping to go for the first time this season
Shingle Shanty Brook is a lot of fun to paddle.
Love the OT Pack, regret selling mine! Never been to Lila, going to have to make it a point to visit.
Yes my OT Pack is one of my favorite possessions. I see you have a Hornbeck...a 13’ NT is probably my next solo.
@@AdirondackAdventures I have an NT 14, great boat. If you ever sell the Pack let me know.

Good to hear that, George! Check out the Bog River Flow/Lows Lake area. Thank me later.
@@AdirondackAdventures I will, for sure. Thank you.

Thanks for watching solocanoe! I love my OT Pack! What do you fish for typically?

From Eastern MA. This is a bucket list item. Would love to bring my pack canoe out there for brookies
Lake Lila is well worth the effort.
Great share! Might you know who my wife and I would contact to reserve a campsite on Lake Lila? safe paddling! Many Thanks!

There are two directions to go from Lila. Both entail longer carries and a lighter boat.
Lovely
Glad you enjoyed it!

Agree. I was both lucky and determined enough to get mine. It’s one of my favorite possessions. Represents true freedom to me.

You get any cell service for emergencies in that area?
And how busy is it during the week you think?
