    @Jenifer13091976 Thanks for the kind words, and for the support! Love the idea of hiding a big nano in the woods, ha! Our nano was made from plumbing supplies, all found at the local home improvement store, and then painted black with plastic fusion paint. Mr. UC even sanded the top to make it more like the shape of a nano.
    Just curious, where did you see another video of a big nano? Would love to check it out. =D

    We don't give out GC codes, sorry. We posted the cache with no size listing at all. True, it's not really a nano, huh. But thanks for watching. :D

  • @UniqueCaches
    @UniqueCaches  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @ThatOldBiddy Thanks!! We put this cache out less than two months ago and it's the only nano we know of that has 22 favorite points already!! Most of the logs for this cache read something like "omg that was hilarious," and THAT is what makes it way worthwhile!! Thank you so much for your kind words of support!

    Again a very clever Geocache :)
    I'm really looking forward to our trip to Florida in a few weeks. And well we're also gonna go geocaching. So hopefully we'll also find some of caches like this one.
    Greetings from Germany again ;)

    GREAT FUN!!! I wish we had some people as creative as you and your husband down here in Naples. Thanks and keep it up! [:D]

    @Zstar300 Did you watch the video all the way through? The little nanos are not the point. And, by the way, they didn't cost us anything, so it wasn't "a waste of money." Those are blinkies - little lights that have a magnet at the bottom. The very first nanos were blinkies, people took the batteries out and that left a little space inside for a tiny log. Mr. UC got the blinkies for free and painted them black.

    @SportaBecki Thanks! (We check on this cache pretty regularly, and amazingly, people STILL put it up way high!! Oh well.)

    All of the parts were purchased in the plumbing section of a home improvement store.

  • @UniqueCaches
    @UniqueCaches  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @fastchapter It's made from plumbing supplies, you can find the parts in your local home improvement store.

    That is nasty and totally brilliant at the same time :-) great idea

    We have a Garmin Oregon 450 which we use for saving waypoints and for double-checking the coords for the hides we put out there. Also if we know we're going to be caching in a rural area, we'll download the caches and use the Garmin. Most of the time, though, we use our iPhones with the groundspeak app. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

    I love a nano, and this is a great idea. While I probably won't place a giant nano, I like the decoy idea. Nicely done.

  • @UniqueCaches
    @UniqueCaches  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the great compliments! If you place some "fun hides" be sure and take a video so we can see!!

  • @UniqueCaches

    There have been instances where geocaches have been mistaken for possible bombs (mostly ammo cans or pvc pipes resembling pipe bombs) but more and more police are aware of geocaching and know what to look for. Responsible cache-hiders put geocaching stickers on questionable containers so they are easily identifiable as part of the game. One thing we've learned, though, by geocaching for a couple years is this: Most of the time, people totally don't pay attention to what other people are doing.

  • @UniqueCaches
    @UniqueCaches  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @twish1999 The big nano is made with plumbing components, which Mr UC painted black using plastic-fusion paint so it won't peel off. The top part is a cap for a large PVC pipe. This was his design and it's such a hoot, huh?!

    Not too many people have made mention of swag or trackables in their logs but you're right, I would think that the inventory list might clue some folks in. But according to the logs we receive, most are surprised! Thanks for watching and for the comment!

    Love the mega-nano! Great idea! I hope many people had fun finding it.

  • @UniqueCaches
    @UniqueCaches  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @draposo79 Nope, sorry, we don't post GC numbers nor do we link in any way to the actual cache pages. That would make these videos into actual spoilers, and we're committed to keeping the caches as anonymous as possible, thanks.

  • @Shay1175
    @Shay1175 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @UniqueCaches
    I like the extreme challenge of a nano myself. They can be hidden in full view & be hard to find. You have hit on an awesome idea with this nano! I absolutely love it! In fact, it would be just as fun without the extras.
    Maybe babygorrila doesn't like them because they are a challenge & they like light post skirt magnetics instead.

  • @UniqueCaches
    @UniqueCaches  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @howat123 Sure! You can get most of the parts in the plumbing supply department.

  • @UniqueCaches
    @UniqueCaches  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks!! Well then we definitely think you should come here and find them (We love favorite points!!)!

  • @UniqueCaches
    @UniqueCaches  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    On the GC page, the size is "not chosen," and though the description talks about nanos and shows pictures of nanos, it never says that this particular cache is a micro or a small. It just doesn't say. :D

  • @rats7eli
    @rats7eli 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @UniqueCaches No, I think it's awesome! Is it just me, or do you guys like to make HUGE versions of small cache containers?

  • @ThatOldBiddy
    @ThatOldBiddy 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    It always amazes me when someone complains about a new idea and something different. Even if you HAD spent money on it, you're going to end up entertaining a lot of people with this cache. The money would be WELL spent. Great idea -- good going!

  • @UniqueCaches
    @UniqueCaches  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, for us the point is the journey itself. Geocaching has taken us to places we most likely never would have gone, to see sights we never would have seen or to take notice of things we never would have noticed. We like finding things that other people hid for people like us to find! There's a little rush when you get to say, "Found it!" We don't care about the points, we don't care about the little trinkets, we just like exploring and geocaching gives us a reason to explore.

  • @UniqueCaches
    @UniqueCaches  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Originally we were just going to put the cache only out there... but we had some nanos and we were *never* going to use them for geocache hides, so this was the perfect place to put them! :D

      Melissa Gula I would say that it is made of 4-8 inch pvc pipe with a screw top adapter and end cap
      The diameter is up to you to decide

  • @UniqueCaches

    Sorry we didn't answer sooner but we have been working. Sorry but we don't give out GC#'s or locations for our caches. However, we aren't that hard to find. If you go on the gc site and do some searches in Florida you might be able to find us. Good luck.

    I like your sense of humor. I'm probably one of those people who'd go through all 5 actual nanos.
    I just have one question. Wouldn't people catch on if the logs mention swag or trackables or if they're listed in the cache's inventory?

    What is the big nano made out of?
    I saw another big nano somewhere online and I really want to hide one in the woods... because who wants to go into the woods to find a stinkin' nano?!

    I responded to a "suspicious package" (2002) once (one of three agencies) so the others were already on scene calling the bomb squad when I laughed to myself walked up and "Opened the Bomb" and what was really funny (No kidding) there was a toy police car inside. But that was the old days of caching.
