Would be interesting to see how much better you could get it taking that stack into Registax or if it was just a case of the seeing conditions. But as you say, not bad for something like outreach. I'm just jealous that you can see the moon and planets at all ☁☁☁☁☁😥
I actually wouldn't bother taking it into Registax to be honest, for some reason you can't get a decent frame rate in the ASIair app. I'm guessing it's hardware limitation maybe. I couldn't get it anywhere near the cameras specs in fps. We're about to get rained on over the next few days storms hitting Australia's east.
Not to bad at all that maybe the stacked image could be finished off in Registax using the wavelets sliders may bring out a bit more, but still a good tool for outreach & such.
Ye you could probably get a bit more out of Registax. What's kinda weird is you can't get the frame rate up in the ASIair anywhere near, maybe it's just a hardware limitation. CS !
Hello and thanks for the video. I am somewhat new to planetary, and I own an ASI Air Plus, using it on an AM3 mount. I tried to polar align using my SkyMax 127 (1500mm) telescope and the ASI224MC camera, but ASI AIr kept throwing a message saying there weren't enough stars available to polar align. Is this because of the narrow (relatively speaking) field of view of the telescope? FWIW, I shoot in my backyard in light polluted skies (Borlte 7-8?). I don't have this issue using my Red Cat 51 or Zenithstar 73 (250mm and 430mm respectively). Do you have such issues with your much larger scope? Thank you!
Hi David yes this can happen above certain focal lengths. I tend to polar align using my guidescopes in these circumstances. I don't normally use the ASI Air to polar align, I use Sharpcap but can get the same issue. Switch to your guidescope for polar aligning.👍
@@OlliesSpace okay, I did that, and then what about plate solving. Do you plate solve using the guide scope as well? If so, your guidescope and mainscope need to be accurately aligned.

Hi Ollie looks images look ok but nothing like what you got the other day with sharpcap. like you say good for outreach and the like
Hey Tony - Ye Sharpcap is the best tool here for sure.

How are you keeping Jupiter in the frame?
Hi there. So I'm on a tracking mount here.
Great video Ollie, shows nicely what it can do, decent images mate👍Clear skies! None for me🙁
Hi Simon - Ye I must say SharpCaps new feature is much more capable but this is ok just for a quick stack. Clear skies soon mate.
I really liked seeing the moon that close. I know it was not processed, but still looked awesome.
Yes Isaac it's pretty awesome that close can really see the craters.
