Monroe at Christmas is beautiful! They have lights in the trees year round.

Wonder lecture! Thank you so much for sharing the history and beautiful charm of Monroe, Ga. Although Warner Robins, Ga is my hometown, I've been a resident of Monroe for over 10yrs. Very interesting the footprints of buildings and businesses that existed long ago vs. current day. Glad to see that the City of Monroe is working hard to keep the town's integrity and originality throughout these ever changing times. Thanks so much for posting this insightful video; the presenter did a wonderful job!

The most dispicable, most horrendous, most absolutely horrible thing I’ve witnessed in MONROE GEORGIA as a kid growing up in the 80’s was the kkk posted up downtown in full uniform (white robes and white pointed dunce caps!) in front of the Monroe Walton county (then) courthouse without a care in the world like they just knew that they ran that town and basically did! Let it be known that type activity wouldn’t fly now days with the new generation of young black people there would MOST DEFINITELY be an all out race war in the middle of downtown!, but yeah Monroe Georgia is a beautiful place atmosphere and landscape wise.
