Finally I’ve the answer, thanks bro. I’ve been searching answers on Deadlift for the past 2 weeks. I’ve been deadlifting for months now but I realised in terms of hypertrophy it hasn’t done great and now going above 175kg, I was quite scared. Thank you for this great video, such clarity. For others I’ve researched and got to know Jeet Salal as well mentions about risk to reward ratio and doesn’t include Deadlifts in top 5 for hypertrophy.

Deadlifts are not hypertrophy movement, but they do help in strengthening the posterior chain muscles right from glutes to traps, everyone have their own preferences and each individual's body reacts differently to different stimuli, they is not a single one fits all approach, one needs to keep the basics right and experiment with different things to know what would be best for him/her

Hey Saket, Thank you for your advice. I'm not even kidding when I say I got motivated to go and keep on continuing my gym subscription because of you. Whenever I wanted to learn something new and the proper way/form to do it, I saw your videos. Its been 7 months now. My body has totally changed from how I looked earlier. I feel confident now. I went from close to 25% body fat to almost hitting 20% now and my goal is 15% and below. I stopped munching on junk food late at night. My back was pretty weak in terms of strength and size both by following the usual beginner gym bro pattern , but after changing it to smart plan ,it totally changed by back . I train 2 times back in a week , and now I perform 4-5 back exercise per session 1. Vertical Pull (Against the gravity) 2. Vertical Pull (With the gravity) 3. Horizontal Pull ( Different Grip in 2 sessions ) 4. Straight Arm Pulldown ( High Rep Range). 5. Deadlift (5-8rep range). You can skip Deadlift , but I feel Deadlift takes back thickness to next level and strength wise also it supports you in other back movement. So it's totally your choice
I deadlift after I finish every exercise i.e at the end. I go as heavy as I can (with proper form and precautions obv) and trust me I feel so good, my whole body gets relaxed. I deadlift on last pull day (Saturday) so that I can get extra rest on Sunday. You can give this a try.

I have been lifting since almost 6 years but you my brother have opened my mind so much about so many things. One of the biggest things is not doing deadlift. You spoke facts about all these things. I know most of the lifters lift to look aesthetically good so doing deadlift is not necessary. It has injured me a lot of times and I agree that it's FTS is really high. beautiful video couldnt agree more on the deadlift part, back development isnt a issue for me and i love deadlifts so i include them on my leg days. Im in that phase of my journey where chasing numbers is fun (just hit 100kg for 6 reps I know it isnt much but its just been 4 months since i started training ) and want to compete in power lifting atleast once
100 kg in 4 months is a very good progress... although i am replying after a year, i am sure you have progressed to greater loads... i could go to a max of 90 kg with 3-4 reps after 5 months(i am in my 6th month of training now)... now i have reduced it to 30 kg and i am doing 10 reps with 6 sets... i am of the opinion that if i have good muscle endurance and proper form i can lift very heavy next time i try... i prefer not to listen to anyone but listen to my own body and take things slow... with strength comes muscles...
I totally agree with you. This really happens in the gym that we drain our energy doing things which doesn't give the results. I just wanna add one thing is that, assume that if someone can do a deadlift of 200kg i would advise him/her to reduce the weight up to 150 kg or 140 kg and do 8 to 10 reps for 3 sets. This will build the overall back like crazy. Just give it a try once.

I know most of the lifters lift to look aesthetically good so doing deadlift is not necessary. It has injured me a lot of times and I agree that it's FTS is really high.

beautiful video couldnt agree more on the deadlift part, back development isnt a issue for me and i love deadlifts so i include them on my leg days. Im in that phase of my journey where chasing numbers is fun (just hit 100kg for 6 reps I know it isnt much but its just been 4 months since i started training ) and want to compete in power lifting atleast once
100 kg in 4 months is a very good progress... although i am replying after a year, i am sure you have progressed to greater loads... i could go to a max of 90 kg with 3-4 reps after 5 months(i am in my 6th month of training now)... now i have reduced it to 30 kg and i am doing 10 reps with 6 sets... i am of the opinion that if i have good muscle endurance and proper form i can lift very heavy next time i try... i prefer not to listen to anyone but listen to my own body and take things slow... with strength comes muscles...
I totally agree with you. This really happens in the gym that we drain our energy doing things which doesn't give the results.
I just wanna add one thing is that, assume that if someone can do a deadlift of 200kg i would advise him/her to reduce the weight up to 150 kg or 140 kg and do 8 to 10 reps for 3 sets. This will build the overall back like crazy. Just give it a try once.
