Makes you wonder how far back their radioactive archives go! Like would love to hear, the 1979 Daytona 500 radioactive or the 1998 500 or other notable events.

@@Lungolords Heck he would've won 2008 and 2011 under full season points. Stages wouldn't have been introduced and he might have continued on for a few additional years

I was at this race. Probably the 2nd best race I seen live. I seen Dale Jr win at Dega in the Bud car and that was one big party.
For those who don't know, Carl Edwards won his first Busch and nextel cup race that Saturday and Sunday
Old Atlanta and the Gen 4 car were a great combination.

I always thought that was Bob yelling in excitement when Carl won, still just as good though
If that was todays group of guys and cars, they woulda never made it to the line. They’d have wrecked each other and the 3rd place car woulda won. This was in the days before all the ridiculous blocking and squeezing somebody into the fence.
Those guys raced very clean and Jimmie gave Carl A LANE to race and therefore had an excellent finish.
Imagine if scanner chatter was that clear today

Think about what was taken from us, the package, the racing, all but one or two drivers in this race still race full time in Cup. But don't cry cause they're gone, remember them and cherish the memories fondly.
