I really enjoyed this! It was like watching Bob Ross paint. Your tone made me feel like Bob Ross was explaining how to have a beautiful Plasma 6. I wish you would have also included the links to the resources and packages you used and installed in the description. Anyway, thank you very much!
Thanks for the video, I am trying plasma 6 right now and as of now, facing an issue. I am using arch with kde as my DE. When I try to get a new global theme by clicking the 'Get New' button, nothing happens. No pop-ups, no error, nothing. Have you faced this issue as well? only the fonts section seems to be working via 'Get New' button.
how did you get that blur in the thumbnail? kvantum was the only way to make windows transparent/blurred to my knowledge and its not been updated to plasma 6 yet
Was this done in suse or fedora, I saw the syntax in cli and was wondering at the 2 and a half mark. I'm on Neon, so I think it already comes fully loaded.
Thanks for showing us the new Plasma version. I like KDE more than gnome. Was recently switching from Fedora KDE to Manjaro KDE. Manjaro works more smoothly and was detecting my hardware better.
Manjaro is just a bastardized arch linux with worse support and outdated everything also you could be better off on nobara linux than as it has the best hardware support possible
After doing full installs and test drives of the five top consumer distros (couldn't get Zorin USB recognized during boot despite 5-6 attempts with different USB sticks), I finally installed Manjaro KDE on my mid-2014 retina Macbook Pro. Smooth, fast, customizable, and relatively stable with 16 gigs of memory. A few times, a few apps froze. Coming from a Gnome environment, I had to relearn some commands. Some distros immediately recognized my Wi-Fi but not Manjaro. Not one had the built-in iSight/Facetime camera working out of the box. It was simple enough to install and activate Wi-Fi in Manjaro but the camera function is still kaput. All the distros had problems with the MBP webcam, but I got it working for Linux Mint. Still looking for a driver and setup solution for the Facetime camera for Manjaro. The biggest hassle with Manjaro is the lack of online 3rd-party help - videos, articles, etc. TH-cam is filled with helpful vids on Mint and some others. As a relative noob, I rely on that type of help. Good luck and enjoy your Manjaro setup.
I know how to get them there-- but they won't work on WAYLAND--- so are you running X11? That kills the effect of kde6 a bit... lots of things require wayland but I can't get any dock to work in Wayland. AND I'm talking PLANK or CAIRO dock-- not just a section of panel called a dock.
@@Mattscreative no in RC 1 you can not get more themes as i think they are working on it or something cause it just doesnt't work when you click the button. This is the case for 3 computers that are all running kde-unstable package on arch linux.
CAREFUL if you have a minimal kde installation Those metapackages bring a shitload of bloat. I just spent half an hour removing bloat and im not sure everything is gone. Just undoing yay -R does not remove them it seems Im very new to arch so there might be a easier way to undo it, just be careful

Glad you enjoyed it!
and that was with NO "happy accidents".. :)
That's so cool literally. The theme is very aesthetic, I love it. Also implemented in my desktop. It looks pretty now.
Gosh it felt nice to see you struggling to find the folder😁
Struggling to find things in plasma is normal for everyone heck most users feel overwhelmed and goto gNome instead

Known issue

It’s just a thumbnail..
what do you think of plasma 6? i cant use it (need a very very stable system) but i'm really curious about how it runs
Plasma 6 is stable now and tends to fix a lot of bugs from KDE 5

Arch linux
this vid was very chill dude

RC2 is out but if you need themes use the AUR for now to grab them
