    I dont care what people say about 4th gens, i love them. My first project car is a 76 hatchback that im working on right now. It might not be the generation everyone loves but who cares, they're fun for what they are and despite what people say, theyre not bad looking cars either

    Calvin, your old man’s bad ass! He’s not even done healing from a drag racing accident and he’s already building a new car. When racing gets in your blood it’s hard to stay away. Best wishes for the both of you!

    I am a huge fan of the 75-79 Novas. My first "hot rod" was a 76 nova. Started with a mild 350. But before long i put a 454, th400 and a 12 bolt in it (typical setup for the late 80's). I have been wanting another one for years but have to finish my 89 Camaro first... lol

    You have a great way of explaining things even my dumb ass understands I love cars I'm not a mechanic I can turn a lil bit of wrenches but I really want to build something now that I have a garage

  • @milwscruffy

    In 1976 my parents bought a new Nova and they soon hated it. I bought it from them in 1977. By 1978 it had a 390 HP 427, turbo 400 and 373 12 bolt posi in it. My Dad thought I was insane. With a couple upgrades it was a 12.0 car by late 78 early 79. Lots of fun and memories in one of these also. I managed to total it in 1981, young and dumb !

    • @milwscruffy
      @milwscruffy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was Medium Saddle poly ( turd brown ) with a God awful tan, black and white plaid interior. My parents taste in colors and patterns was pretty underwhelming.

    I enjoyed your video. My first nova was a 76 4 door and l now own a 78 hatch back. It has a 454 with a NP440 overdrive 4 speed behind it. The rear is a 8.5 with 3.08 gears posi of course. It's a blast to drive. All the best.

    This is an exciting project! Kinda basic platform and contemporary upgrades like were done when Magazines were popular.
    I really like the originally yellow and white. It's unique enough that would really give the car an identity.

    Awesome. Love the late Nova.
    Holy cow the brain on your dad. Lose this 42lbs, lose this 38lbs. He's like a drag racing how to encyclopedia.
    What Color you ask? Easy, doesn't matter. Your build is what makes it sexy.
    I would say this. Brand it. Nivlac57 needs a theme. Could be a paint scheme, logo or strobe stripe, racing stripes whatever. Think of the Chevy bow tie, Rolex crown, the Glock G. Would help with merchandise as well.

    The original bright yellow with a white top (or 1966 Lemonwood yellow is a nicer shade of the same color). Super clean look, cool inside and photographs well. Also the light green metallic with a white or green top is another nice but oddball color combo. Cool inside and doesn't blind you while cruising or wrenching. Very cool project. I would like to do an LT/10L90 swap next. Looking forward to seeing results.

    Looks like a great project. I did a few mini tubs, frame connectors, and roll bars in mid 70's Novas for customers bracket racers. As you said, good platforms with lots of potential and well supported by the aftermarket.
