    I love my Minelab Excal2 .. just found a 10K ring with triple"ICE" two days ago... the best thing I like about having it verses "MOST" other detectors is the fact I can go to shoulder depth in the water(more if I had tanks) thereby eliminating most other competition in my area !!
    26 rings out of two swimming holes last year!!!!! six were gold....eight were 925 !!!
    Keep the vids coming!!!

    Couple practical suggestions I heard/was told. Look in a local beach newspaper for "Lost" ads. Sometimes people tell which beach they lost a ring etc on. And a Whites dealer in FL told me that in the water..about 10-15 ft deep, he used a hookah and found lots of rings. His words "a jewelry store". Have not tried the latter but hope to one day. Great suggestions and videos!

    Metal detecting is a labor of love...You gotta show you want it. Wish I had the capability to use mine in the water..Best finds I’ve had are prior 1964 silver, Although not silver I Love the Indian head Nickels....weirdest thing is a buried bicycle... Blew my ears off..WOW!, Took three days of digging. Ive never found a ring, or fine jewelry..But I’ve dug the Mother load of trash..Labor of love..

    I was detecting an area that has been hit hard right after the 4th of July and I found a gold ring in the dry sand and in the same spot were someone else was searching. Did he miss it? Or was it just dropped after he passed over it? Idk but I'm happy that I found the gold ring. It was found using a toy the "Minelab Go-Find 60" as my regular Minelab detector is in the shop being repaired.
    Also I've had two incidents were one told me to give him everything I find which I laughed my ass off and the other guy asked me if I was going to be detecting the same spot he was. Basically the second guy was trying to tell me to move or else. I ignored both of them and continued to search.

    I also have the Excalibur II and use it for the beach as well. The only difference with a souvereign is that he doesn't have a display. A display on the beach is useless because anyway you have to dig everything.
    So don't waste money on a different detector for dry sand. Excal is superior on both beach and water.

      I actually just got the IVUE camera glasses. I saw a few guys on here using them. They are really good and use a fish eye lens. The challenge to using them is to make sure you are looking down more than u think you need to. My first video had to much on top and not enough of the detector swinging and the hole I was digging. Ill be posting another one where I made an adjustment and it looks so good. Better than expensive go pro for what we do

    been metal detecting for 2 weeks now! been to beach 5 times and found a few coins! our winter is just starting so the waves are smashing in and high tides, there are only people walking there dogs and a handful of other metal detectors out on the beach! so do I keep detecting the beach or do I wait till summer time comes and people start to drop fresh stuff? and my machine is a Minelab Xterra 505 I am finding the balancing ok on dry land but struggling with it on the beach, even though it's waterproof unit!
    thanks mate

    Hey champ, great video. I have a question.... I've recently found a spot on the beach where you can see the water had craved out parts and left lower dints in the water (actually pretty close to the top of the beach entrance). Anyway, you said that if you find a ring there, that there may be a good chance of there being more. Well my question is, Why? Why do rings cluster together???

    • @thanrose
      @thanrose 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Abdul Kader Good breeding? Nah, it mostly means that if ppl have lost rings or other jewelry there, then ppl have probably been doing that for a while. As in, maybe it's an area that tourists sunbathe and swim. They don't even notice their rings are loose on their wet fingers, or they do and stick them in a pocket, where they could fall out. Water sports increase your likelihood of finding such stuff.

    Although the title says "The best place to find rings", this video doesn't really define where the best places would be beyond looking more carefully near other hits. It would imply that if you're driving up to a beach for the first time, this is the area you'll want to check out first, but that isn't what this is.
    Not that I didn't find value in your video, but just wanted to make that comment. Thanks!

      Find evidence of a fire pit with a log or two around it, a place where people sit and party. Walkways to parking lots, and picnic areas are good places to detect some treasure.
