Whats the DigiKey part number for the contacts that you used? EDIT for anyone else with the question, I think its 36-105-2-ND, ordering some to try myself.
The tripod screw is NOT a left-hand thread, it is right-hand but you are un screwing the female thread, a shell with a square cavity in the middle. You thus unscrew it clockwise.
EDIT: digikey part number: 36-105-2-ND --- Can you post the digikey part number? I just got my leicaflex in and it needs the EXACT same fix. I opened up the battery compartment and the terminal just popped out.
Trying to do this on an SL2 seems to be another screw holding the bottom casing in place, but there is not thread or drive hole in the tripod mount. Any ideas where it might be?
I just opened mine, I have a square slot at the bottom of the tripod mount hole. It's a square or 'robertson' type screw, not sure of the size. I - very carefully - used a mini flat screwdriver that snugly fit diagonally which got the job done (it loosens clockwise with the back of the cam towards you). But ideally find a Roberson or sq,square driver that fits. A normal square bit will taper too wide too quickly to fit the hole, so make sure the bit or bit or driver shaft never get wider than about 4,5mm for at least the length of the hole and a bit. As I said I winged it with a snugly fitting 4mm flat head diagonally. But if you damage the screw you're in more trouble, so better order a decent Robertson screw driver. probably 3.4 mm would fit, the 4mm flathead doesn't fit vertically or horizontally. hope this helps. Thanks Premature Yeet for the video!!
I’m trying to do this as well. I bought Robertson bits but I’m still having trouble. I think that it’s stripped a bit already. I wish they had made this one easier to get out!
Great video, but I was duped by how easy it looked. Screws are tiny and nearly impossible to handle. Wires are brittle and broke twice. Soldering old wires in tight space is a nightmare-I need four hands. And my meter still doesn’t work.
Thx, I cannot wait for the part II, need to see how to open the upper part (need to clean the top of the matt screen)

Great video! Any idea how to remove the take-up spool?
Hello, is it possible tu insert a diode to put a new battery 1.5v? Positive is face out?
Great video, could you give the url/data where you bought the contacts ?
What’s kind of screw fit for the middle one?
What battery do you use? Great video.
What did you use to remove the screw in the tripod mount?
Seemed like an odd sized square hole, I used a Robertson bit and it worked decently
where we can bought the battery contact part ? thanks

Hello, is the SL2´s battery terminal the same? Where can I get the spare parts? Thanks
