Bryan it might be hard to believe, but you just scratched the surface of what's out at The Shed! Very impressed that you were able to ride most of the trails on that side of the hill. Larry is no joke!!! Anyone on the podium at Sheduro is a MONSTER!
Now this one does it more justice! The Shed is fan-freaking-tastic. Kubla Khan is my aspiration trail, I dream of cleaning it one day. It has so many incredible line options. At the end you should have jumped in that creek by the parking lot. Great way to clean up and refresh after a good ride. Safe travels, hope to see you back on the Shed one day.
Marathon Nats are there this weekend. Loop is a good chunk of Catoctin with some blues, greens and a bit of fireroad. Full gas at the elite level is gonna be rough on some of that!
If you ever visit Frederick again, you should also hit up River’s Edge Trail in Brunswick, MD. About 20 minutes from Frederick. It’s a small trail system, but it’s jam packed with lots of downhill trails and cross country type trails. It’s totally worth the visit!
Holy crap. I got exhausted just knowing you climbed 3 saws that many times. What a freaking ride! Glad you were able to get back out our way. And lucky for you, you ran into a local legend to help point you in the right direction.
Excellent ride, you definitely hit a bunch of my favorites at the Shed. Scared me a bit early in the video when you didn't mention hitting Catovid down. Glad Larry set you straight!
I'm 21 and just started mountain biking this year and I've been kicking myself for never trying it earlier. Granted I live a good distance from any trails living in the prairie. Just wanted to say you're a huge inspiration and you got me addicted!
So glad you came back around!! Having the shed in my backyard is one of those things I never take for granted! Pumped you enjoyed it again🤘and btw you’re an absolute beast, that mileage and elevation is not easy around here!!
Brian, one of your best videos ever! It was terrific that you ran into several locals and were exploring "The Shed" trails on your own. That's how most of us will be doing it as well and it looked like great fun! Maybe worth 2 full days for many of us. Thank you for sharing. I would love to see a video of how you research and plan your trips. Your channel has inspired many of us to plan long getaway adventures with our bikes and some guidance on how to plan a multi-state round would be super helpful!
another great video. It's funny I had just thought to myself, so many times I don't see where the line goes, and you said it too. Thought maybe I was the only one.... Don't stress about your not doing jumps well. We all have our different life experiences that make us think. I'm a retired airline pilot that has NO problems being at 38000ft. But a man made structure like the Stratosphere in Vegas, 1000ft up, walking to the edge....NOPE! Not gonna happen....
Glad you ran into Larry. Catovid is my favorite trail there too, altho Boundary line is a close second. If you like Catovid, come to Deep Creek Lake MD.
You need to ride Ho Trail (aka Old School on trailforks). It's the gnarliest the shed has to offer. You rode some rough stuff today but honestly, it does not compare at all.
I raced an Xterra Tri at Rocky Gap in Maryland back in 2013. The riding in MD is no joke. Everyone thought my hard tail was a bad idea. It was but made it thru.
Thanks Larry for helping BKXC for finding the stoke with some watershed Zen! LARRY even has his own youtube channel #LarryVision he has videos for trails throughout the Shed
While I'm sad I'm leaving my mountains of New Mexico behind to move to Illinois knowing I'm going to be so much closer to these east coast monsters is so very exciting to me! Here in New Mexico we have to drive everywhere to do anything so 11 hours is a nothing drive to me!
I still dream about those rocks on kubla Khan and I haven't been there in 15 yrs. I went with a group of women my first year riding and thought I would never make it home alive. As rocky as that trail is, I still had a ton of fun on the bigger rocks, though and would love to go again but this all back in the ol' days on 26' wheels and no dropper posts! :-D
100% with you on the signage. I used to ride in the UK and it's a lot more common there, especially at all of the trail centres. We should do it here in the US.
There is a whole lot more to explore! Next time you're around, checkout the push trails and the DH trails off the fishing creek side! Stoked you were able to make it over a 2nd time and I hope there will be a 3rd! 😎
Gambrale state park and the water shed are brutal! I’m from Fl and love riding there! “the Bike Doctor” in Frederick is a great local shop if you need anything
Nice little cross country trip you have going on. If you make your way down to Richmond and don't mind a couple of kids or a couple of nice dogs, got a place for you to stay, easy access to the local systems, laundry, guest room....just an option for ya. Enjoy the adventures!
Those trails are fantastic! Why does it always seem like we are on the same video schedule? literally editing a vid to upload of these trails right now lol...
That’s an epic ride - props for committing to re-climbing that many times to get to old the goods - as others have already said - still some GREAT stuff out there - check out the video on my channel from 2 weeks ago 🤘
Nice but rocky for my taste, at age 66 i am lucky to be riding blue trails especially since i have had only 2 FS bikes. There is a rocky trail in certain areas at Uwharrie in NC and i ended up down a ravine about 20-30 feet and the bike an additional 20, a bruised rib or 2. Looking at a mint 2021 SB-115 T-2 for $1500.00 off list, i really have no need for an Enduro bike 90% of the time and the SB-115 comes with a 30 tooth sprocket
Sick trails, hitting the Shed on my way to Kanuga. Does anyone know the name of the trail Brian hit with the large boulders. This whole route looks like a sweet mix of flow and tech.
I think it was Nose, Mouse Trap, Kubla Khan, Boundary Line, Catovid, Three-Saws (down), excluding climbs, in that order. They all have large boulders, except perhaps Boundary Line and Three Saws. Kubla has the most slabs/boulders of the bunch though.
I've been riding some of the easier stuff there on my Roscoe 6, but this place is definitely rocky lol. I haven't tried any of the black diamond trails there. One thing that people have told me, which is true, is that back in the day there were no full suspension bikes. Not ideal, but I guess it can be done with proper gear.
Even easier than signage, you could literally just use a color scheme and spray paint a 3"x3" square on trees/rocks. It could be done over time during the same time they do maintenance on trails. I get that custom signage can be expensive, but spray paint isn't. It also won't get vandalized and destroyed like signs do.
Am I the only one who thinks riding without gloves is crazy? THE FIRST thing you do in a get-off is put out your hands to break the fall....why would you NOT wear gloves?
Just that you remembered my name was cool! Super great meeting you!
Bryan it might be hard to believe, but you just scratched the surface of what's out at The Shed! Very impressed that you were able to ride most of the trails on that side of the hill. Larry is no joke!!! Anyone on the podium at Sheduro is a MONSTER!
Agreed
The Shed is one of the most underrated East Coast spots, so glad to have it an hour away. Great video Brian!
I got it 35 minutes away ;)
I'm 5 min away 😁
Yea in Baltimore there is zero good riding so ill gladly head the hour fifteen to frederick for ebike runs
Nice meeting you Brian, glad you enjoyed the trails. Come back anytime. -Andrew, Greenstone TrailCraft
Great job making those awesome trails!
Larry is the man. Absolute shredder. As for the shed you still have sooooo much fun stuff to explore

Larry knows the way! Glad you Made it back here to the Shed!
Those trails look so fun! I definitely agree about the signage
They’re the best!
Please visit Maryland to go mountain biking

Love it BKXC video and a Warren Haynes reference!
So glad you came back around!! Having the shed in my backyard is one of those things I never take for granted! Pumped you enjoyed it again🤘and btw you’re an absolute beast, that mileage and elevation is not easy around here!!
Thanks for coming back and showcasing the other downhill trails. There's a whole lot more at the Shed.

Glad you visited again our very awesome trails! Hope you come again and do the fishing creek side of shed. Which is some crazy downhill trails.
Love the Warren Haynes Soulshine reference!
Awesome! Ripmo is the perfect bike for there too!!!

I live and Garrett County. DCLSP is awesome. They did a great job building those trails.
@@paddyoohh3882 got a house out there. It’s where my heart is!
Love the sound off all the rocks
I think climbing 3 Saws once sucks lol! Kubla Kahn is my favorite so far of the trails I’ve ridden there. Glad you got to ride it.
The ebike makes it so easy it's not funny.
@@HnHStead lol I'm sure! I wish I had one.
Great ride! 12 saws (3+1.5+1.5+3+3 by my count)+ up catovid is a crazy day!

This is inspiring, BK! Thanks for showing this area off.
Man I still gotta get up there!
Rode Kubla on a hardtail once...nearly rattled my teeth out! Glad to see you enjoyed the Shed!

Topped off with a little Soul Shine, Bill Shatner style...👍
Just did 3 Saws today.
Doing some research on the area!
The Canmore Nordic Center uses the route system, there are 5 or so loops with their own colour designation. It's a great idea!
100% with you on the signage. I used to ride in the UK and it's a lot more common there, especially at all of the trail centres. We should do it here in the US.
Might be the most fun trip I’ve “watched” someone ride! Sam that’s a ways from Oklahoma!
Back to your channel after 2years
Great location mate! Thanks for the video.
There is a whole lot more to explore! Next time you're around, checkout the push trails and the DH trails off the fishing creek side! Stoked you were able to make it over a 2nd time and I hope there will be a 3rd! 😎
Holy crap these trails look epic! Good work Brian! 👍
Nothing worse than the buzz kill of having to pull out your phone or a map to figure out where to go. Totally agree.
That rock riding at the beginning looked so hard!!!!xd
One of the best rock gardens. One you come down the steep section u take and keep ur line and u can get thought it. Super fun.
Man I’m exhausted just from watching this!
Gambrale state park and the water shed are brutal! I’m from Fl and love riding there!
“the Bike Doctor” in Frederick is a great local shop if you need anything

You have to give Fountain head a try. Awesome trail system and super fun to ride.
Riding today on my kenevo, perfect bike for the trails
I was trying to figure out where I wanted to ride this weekend. Watershed seems like a clear winner to me. Only live about an hour from Watershed.
Glacial Hills in Northern Michigan has route symbols. Otherwise as a newb, you'd be stopping every 1/2 mile to look at a map.
Those trails are fantastic! Why does it always seem like we are on the same video schedule? literally editing a vid to upload of these trails right now lol...
Those trails look amazing! I've got to go there sometime.
This side of mtn is amazing, solid 600-700ft of downhill goodness and all available for free!! Ebikes are the key to a even better ride here;)
The only reason you can ride the shed is due to the hard work of MORE. Was very close to being closed in the early ‘90s
Damn nice riding...great trails
That’s an epic ride - props for committing to re-climbing that many times to get to old the goods - as others have already said - still some GREAT stuff out there - check out the video on my channel from 2 weeks ago 🤘
Looking fast there!
You don't want to crash on some of those trails, nothing but rocks everywhere! Looks like fun though.
Boa trilha pra ciclismo de terra!
Should try out bacon ridge and water works in Annapolis that’s a somewhat new trail in Maryland. Also patapsco is worth the trip too.
Nice riding dude 👊🔥
Hell yes to Soulshine!
Next time you’re in the area, you’ll definitely have to check out the janky fun at the other end of the park 😁
They always come back to the shed 😉
The fact you climbed 3 Saws 4-5 times is amazing 😂 I was done after two climbs. Next time we go, we are going to be ShuttleCocks!
Great video video I really like it a lot of action 👍😎
Welcome to Maryland!
An Allman Brothers fan I see!
What are those clanking noises? Oh, it's Brian in his element again.
Now it’s time to ride the push trails !! Visit us again to ride the EPIC stuff at the shed

I want that jersey with the yellow sleeves! Worldwide doesn't have any
my arms and elbows hurt just watching this
Good riding 🔥
Oh man, you were in my neighborhood...

My 440 dollar hard tail bike wont last on those rock gardens xD
Negotiating signage with land managers is way more trouble than it needs to be.
are you headed to Sedona next month for the festival?
I still got lost at coed y brenin 😂
Atleast we don't have massive freaking Snakes in UK 😎😎😎
Would you ride this on a hard tail? Rock gardens looked taxing.
I've been riding some of the easier stuff there on my Roscoe 6, but this place is definitely rocky lol. I haven't tried any of the black diamond trails there. I love the Shed. But yeah, signage there is terrible.
Dang I just missed you!
I just discovered salt tablets for cramps. It has saved me a lot of suffering.
What are the freeride trails there

Thanks to the work of MORE (the local advocacy group) signs are currently in progress and there were postholes likely at the time of this video.
@@themtrchannel9529 getting lost is never fun. Creating clear directions doesn't dumb down the trail unlike creating B-lines

My biggest complaint with riding in North East is the absolute adversion to signage. Even my local trail association doesn't think it's necessary.
