I find it curious how they just showed the less affluent, half, part of the city. Almost as if they’re trying to paint a cartoony picture of the place 😂
They showed the old city with the restaurants that has been around for generations. That is how you show the authentic part of a country. Not the polished fancy “investment” restaurants.
@@muhannadobeidat I get what you’re saying but you’re missing the point. If you were to judge the place by just watching the video, you’d think it’s a scene from Aladdin.
loved the episode, but mate... Mushkhan needs a lot seriously a lot more olive oil, you basically dip the taboon bread in the olive oil.. and you need much much more Sumac on them onions..
A lot of these chefs visit our countries, steal their ideas and sell as their own in their own restaurants. Without giving any credit to where it came from sadly. The reason they show the lesser part of our countries is a typical Western Outlook sadly. Notice they hardly show the affluent and developed areas
But this is a street food doc… not a general cuisine doc. Ainsley did another series that was more focused on general cuisine and not just street food. He went back to Jordan and did 2 episodes, he was a in posher areas in that series. This series he also goes to Barbados in the Caribbean, but again because of where street food typically is, he didn’t go to the posh areas in that series. Western chefs do DO that, but this isn’t the best example because he pretty much did the same even in European countries in this series. I do wish they gave credit to the restaurants though, he mentioned the names of them on the discovery + edition I believe.
You miss the most popular and richest dish. The MANSAF
Can’t believe u MISSED THE ICONIC MANSAAAAAAAAAAAF.
Great episode but dame u missed the one and only the most famous JORDANIAN Dish
Ainsley is a British legend - watched him growing up throughout the 90’s

nothing wrong with that
@@balance3201 it’s stereotyping a place incorrectly. How’s that not wrong ?
@@kobe24OBCity that's what Amman looks like lol
This documentary seems to be shot 15 years ago.
Exactly what i was thinking, but if you deep it, nothing changed much for 20 years, you can shoot the exact vid now.
I was wondering where are all the modern cars
the electric cars all around the streets in jordan
@@leon_blackI would say Amman now is a lot more modern
Yes. I watched this a decade or two ago
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
His best episode ever but can't buy it in the U.S. :-(
So that lady was coincidentally sat there to help translate in the shop.
And then she ends up doing the whole food tour with him lol😮
😂
Ainsley, when you went to the desert and you made your red pepper dip, this is originally a middle eastern dip called muhammara.

He's talking to the waiter so ignorantly sad!!
Huh?
How did he talk to him ignorantly
The waiter spoke to him in Arabic even though it’s obvious he can’t speak Arabic.
The most depressing city ever
are you speaking of experience or what
