Busy Bees Challenge 2024

- two lovely vlogger, @The_Gemini_Stitcher and @sequingirlie are running a Busy Bees challenge for the next three months. It is loosely based on The Great British Sewing Bee for those of us who would like to have a go, but are too terrified to actually apply to go on the programme. the Gemini Stitcher and SequinGirliecreates both have really good vlogs on the challenge (no prizes by the way, just for fun) but the basic idea is as follows. During July, its the pattern challenge, and the pattern will be supplied by a fellow vlogger.....or in my case my best friend! the reveal for the pattern challenge is end of July. In August its transformation, which is really not my strong point and then in September it's time to make an outfit to wear in the Mediterranean. I contacted Christine from GeminiStitches and asked if I can join in and she said its fine, the more the merrier, so I'm joining in, even thought I'm not one of the official vloggers.

Oh I love this challenge. I guess it's too late to send patterns overseas. Might have to check out next month's challenge.😊
It's a brilliant idea, they are so clever to think of it. Instead of posting a paper pattern, you could maybe have someone pick out a free pdf pattern to be made? Mood Sewciety, The Fabrics Store and Peppermint Magazine have tons of patterns.

Just let me know if there is anything you don't want (swimsuit, fly zips, invisible zips, ruffles, etc) and your sewing level and I'll have a look for a free pdf pattern you can download straightaway? 🥰😘

@@create_something_prettyHi Katrina. I've watched a couple of your blogs to try and get an idea of what you might like to sew. Really enjoyed your blogs by the way, you have such a relaxed, chatty style 😊. In one of your blogs, you mentioned you needed more sweaters and jumpers. In February I took part in the Sew Frugal challenge and my favourite pattern was the Mood Sewciety Felicia Sweater. I sewed it in a thin Jersey and it was the perfect layering piece and, more importantly, sees up so fast it's not true!
