The Palmette and the Turquoise Bandeau are very nice tiaras that she can use in her emerita role at any time. The Naasut Tiara is pretty enough, but its yellow hue is so strong that it contrasts with her white hair in not a good way. Maybe it would look better if they add pearls or colored stones to soften the yellow? TBH, I really can't find anything nice to say about the Golden Poppies. Nothing about them is graceful or pretty. Whenever Queen Margrethe has worn them in public I have been reminded of the story about the Emperor not having any clothes. Then there was also a character in the Addams Family, Ophelia Frump, who used to wear a headpiece very similar to the Golden Poppies. Maybe she was the artist's inspiration!

Having seen all four up close at an exhibition of Margrethe's personal jewellery, I have to put in at least a token defence for the Golden Poppies; the craftsmanship is exquisite, and the flowers are absolutely beautiful. Okay, so the whole piece is really weird and strange - and not really in a good way; even the famously eccentric and weird Queen Margrethe has rarely worn it because... Well, what occasion does one wear something so odd for?
And the Naasut tiara is stunning! But it's a lot of yellow gold for most people, and the contrast with Margrethe's silvery grey hair does seem a little stark. It would probably look a lot better on one of her daughters-in-law with their darker hair. It's an interesting take on a modern tiara, though, and I do hope we get to see it on other people.
The Baden Palmette tiara is conventional, bordering on boring. But obviously VERY pretty and would suit almost anybody, so I imagine she'll use that for the most formal occasions. (It's also supposedly quite light and easy to wear, which must be nice for an elderly woman with quite enough issues from her back.) And due to the family history it seems likely she'll leave it to her son when the time comes so it remains in the royal line.
The turquoise bandeau... So simple and sleek! And it would look perfect on her granddaughters - it's modern enough in style to suit young women, I think. Of course her matching suite of turquoise jewellery is a bit more "artistic", but also full of family history since they were largely given to her by her late husband and at least partially designed with his input. (He was also rather weird and artistic, and I do mean that in the best possible way.)
But all in all... It's quite a modest collection, but should be enough to suit her current needs. Let somebody younger wear the heavy tiaras!

The last was most stunning, the others where she can have them.

I like these simple tiaras better than almost any other I've seen. My tastes are becoming less formal as I age I'm finding. I'm out of my Versailles era and am now in my Hameau era

Don't like the first tiara. Love the second one from Greenland. The turquoise bandeau is lovely and understated. The last one is nice, but does not strike me as gorgeous or original. Of course she looks wonderful in all of them and I'm glad she kept her favorites to wear.

I was never a fan of yellow gold. Esp 22 carat gold with its yellow "tin" like appearance. Im into white gold and platinum with diamonds. The ultimate luxe.

The two first ones in gold does not suit her colours. With her grey hair, tiaras in white, or light colours look better, thats all. They might look great on Queen Mary.

The gold flowers headpiece are by far the ugliest piece of jewelry I have ever seen. She could have made something really unusual.

The poppies tiara is a failure! It does not fulfil its function!! As a work of art for display in a museum it is fabulous. It would be interesting to see the design brief.

So...what can one say...the Palmette Tiara...is fine, indeed very fine.
AS for the rest ...Well, I'm sure up close and personal the Icelandic Gold Tiara against the dark hair of Queen Mary...Could look stunning!! BUT It's so..."bright" !!!
I'm sorry But I don't care How many generations the Turquoise Bandeau has been through... Its awful...and either needs a Total And expensive Makeover or...Better...Sold at auction.
The Poppies...??? Words fail me...Maybe or Perhaps they could be...remodelled into something like a cluster Hair comb? Given to a museum or Auctioned. No One will Ever wear them after Margrethe Passes that's for Sure...

I like both gold tiaras but for some odd reason they just don't look good on Queen Margrethe's hair and the ensemble of the dresses and other jewels don't match with these gold tiaras. She really needs other beautiful gold jewels in order to create the perfect parures for these two gold tiaras. The perfect gold necklaces, earrings, brooches, bracelets, rings, stomachers or even gold belts and with the right hairdos and the right royal gowns, these gold tiaras will be as stunning and elegant for any occasions. The diamond-turquoise bandeau is definitely not appropriate for the Queen, she should definitely give it to the young princesses, it looks more fitted for young unmarried princesses. The Palmette diamond tiara is historically perfect for the use of Queen Emeritus Margrethe II of Denmark. Also, Queen Margrethe II should purchase the Danish sapphire diamond tiara that is up for auction this December, it would be another perfect historical tiara for the use of the old Queen, and it can be alternated with its own turquoise which is perfect for the turquoise parure the Queen already owns, and a better turquoise tiara than the bandeau turquoise tiara. This sapphire/turquoise historical tiara should not be sold, it should stay in the Danish collection as what makes the Danish royal jewels so special is their historical significance. Remember what you once said Queen Margrethe II " We don't count the karats, we count the centuries".
