Concerning the Q45's app. I like the 'Piano' & 'Acoustic' presets out of the 22 presets. Also, Q45 has LDAC too. Plus, an 8 band EQ. And multiple ANC modes Adaptive or 1-5 & Transparency has multiple adjustments too. Firmware updates are nice too. Still, my Oneodio A70s have a slightly better 3D sound field. But, no ANC or LDAC. Also, they were built for pros or semi pro DJs. Yeah, the Edifier did have a better mic though........PS I just got my Q45s a week ago.
Well, to be honest I found your chapter when I was searching about the soundcore q45 and edifier wh950nb, so tais is my first video I believe. And to me the white color is amazing
I'm an audiophile type with some "consumer V shaped" sensibilities regarding sound signatures. In other words, I like my mids scooped, my bass feeling round and punchy and trebs rolled back but clear and sparkly. With my listening centralizing around deep bass electronic music, bass driven hard rock and reggae, these do it for me without any hesitance. Out of the box these sound alright enough that they feel exciting and promising right off the hop (It helped with them being exceptionally comfy). I left them in dynamic mode and skipped the custom EQ in app (I found it unnecessarily confusing). Between Wavelet and the Samsung EQ I was able to dial an extraordinarily adequate sound signature. Very balanced but deep bass, only missing the truely sub bass frequencies... I hear everything in the music with clarity and distinction between the sounds. Sound stage is a bit tight but with Wavelet, adding 15 percent soundstage does the trick for that. My only complaint is that the trebs, no matter what I do, sound a bit harsh and crunchy. I tamed this with tweaking but it comes with sacrifice as I have to dull down the trebles a bit more than I would like to control the harshness. But I'm still satisfied with the result. Please note though, OOTB, these headphones sound only pretty ok. With EQ and settings tweaking while using LDAC and maxxed out data transmission specs, they sound AWESOME. Truly. I am super into the sound signature I got out of these. Very immersive and satisfying. The pads and headband material is this type of soft that could only be compared to the skin of an infant? If you like soft, you will want to continually touch these. The headband I have seen complaints about, I have an egg shaped head so anything beyond the cushion of the band does not touch my head. Zero complaints with the comfort of that. Clamp force is very comparable to the q35's however maybe slightly looser. They create a great seal. I can still wear them at the gym and they barely slide back on my sweaty bald head while laying on the bench. Only a slight adjustment is needed to to orient them to prevent slide. Otherwise they are very stable. ANC is pretty damn good but sitting with silence or quiet segments in a song I could still hear the bus engine while in transit. Very minimized but it still cut through. Walking on the street I could slightly hear cars passing. Compared to how they sounded when anc was off however made their performance notably more impressive as they were doing a great job of reducing their sound by a large margin. However, these do not block out sound well enough that you can put them on and sit in silence with no music playing. For example I could still hear my gf watching IG on her phone beside me when I had no music playing. The depth of the earpad memory foam is entirely adequate, unlike the soundcore q35's. Those earpads feel trashy, especially when compared to the Edifiers. When the q35's are on you can see the foam fully compressed and the frame of them are barely cushioned at all. They're foamy enough, but BARELY. The edifier's when on have more cushion to give then are "required" and do not look maxxed out when viewing them on. Sure these lack 2 trendy features, those being "auto off" when you take them off your head and "cup for transparency". But with the button layout being reliable and ergonomic to achieve those 2 things without any hitches or room for failure, I can't see why those features would be missed. From experience, the auto off features on headphones often don't work right. With an ANC button ands pause button made with tactile rubber right where my hands go when reaching to take them off, I don't see why I would need the features these are missing. I do not reccomend for gaming though. They sounded BAD when plugged in and bass was very distorted. The construction of these are refined, the cup swivel feels pro, the hinges feel sturdy and the overall construction does not feel cheap or vulnerable to breaking. Everything about them feels VERY NICE. They don't creak or make sounds other than the following: When sitting with the music off and anc on, if I turn my head back and forth I can sometimes hear the metal connecting material in contact with the earcup plastic.
Thanks for the comparison! Was so happy that my fiancee got the WH950NB for me as a gift and she was able to get them on sale for only 74 USD (4,299 php) in the Philippines. What a steal! Surprisingly the Q45s were around 90usd on sale
How did i find your channel @gear up with Aron? One Faithful day in October 2022 I felt the need to review headphones that are great and fairly priced. Searched for headphone/ earbud reviews and behold! your channel came up. I watched your review on a soundcore earbud. I was impressed with how you did your review and here I am still tuning in to your content to this day. Continue producing quality tech content @GearupwithAron. Black with Gold accents is my preferred 950NB color...
I’m looking to upgrade my headphone and then I found your channel! Really like how you do the detailed review and comparison. And now you make me want to listen to this Edifier 950Nb. I checked out your other videos and it’s great as expected 👍
From Edifier's retweet. Honestly I was tempted not to follow your channel thinking that's another paid review. Buy I ended up watching the all video. You clearly made your point like Leo from Kitguru. I wish I knew your channel when I had to choose between Sony and Bose. Nice work. Keep it up.
@@growth_with_nick I'm curious to test them as well but kinda still amazed by thx audio amp power and clarity and subtle details with Razer barcudda pro
Hey Aaron, great comparison. 😊I'd love to see a head-to-head battle between the Soundcore Space Q45 and the JBL Live 660. That would be a really fierce battle! I have them both and can't decide which would win. I'd love to hear what a real reviewer would say.
Yo! Excelent review i enjoy watching tech videos and thats how i found your channel and got addicted to your videos (excelent reviews, comparasons and tests, and very enjoyable too). Keep up the good work Aaron!!. greetings from México. ps: Also, you look like Franco escamilla a famous comedian from México , just a curios fact jejeje😅
Hi, could I ask you for your opinion? I was intending to get these headphones but I think the lack of AAC could be a major problem given that I use iPhone and mainly Apple Music. At this point would you advise me to focus on the Soundcore or look at the Sennheiser Accentum?
Headphones with no AAC support on iOS will switch to SBC, which is ideal for most kinds of listening. Of course, feel free to check out the other brands you suggested. 😁
Hi Aaron, I have one question: Can you turn off the microphone with a button on the headphones during a call? I am considering Edifier WH950NB for a 'work from home' situation where I have a lot of calls during the day (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Talk...) and I need the option to mute/unmute the microphone during a call.
Recently I was reading TWS reviews on reddit when I saw that someone recommends your channel. I checked out some videos and subscribed. Currently still in search for a good TWS that would uncover the market to me, an iem user.
That’s a solid review. I’m in the middle of selecting a good pair of all around muffs, got tired of in ears tbh. Right now WH950 are equivalent of 110 vs 120 USD for Q45. Which one would You pulled the trigger on in this case? Any other favourites in the price range under 150?
@@gearupaaron tbh right now just need a good all-arounders. Kinda sleept all the ANC era cause though I was ok with what I was using but…but after hitting 40 the balance started to shift towards comfort and I really can’t say in ears are in the comfort zone. Maybe it’s me not being compatible but they just don’t seem right, can’t say whether it’s a fit issue, or the feeling of pressure or just the “budget” problem. Never really put more than 70 bucks for a pair so there can be that. The idea is to return to big ol bulky “tank operator style”. As they are targeted to Jack of all trades - being used in and outdoors - think a “nice” ANC would be nice. This also means they will be used just as much for music (metal, rock, instrumental, OST’s) as for media consumption (movies, podcasts). Other stuff like wear sensors or fancy ambient touch control is of course added value but can live w/o that. Source is not super demanding - mostly iPhone 13 PRO I think having AAC would be beneficial over SBC?! Also I’m not expecting audiophile level (as the price point suggest also ;) ) but SQ is important. After watching some solid options from your portfolio of content I’ve pinpointed those two as solid contenders with unfortunate price differences that’s why wanted to ask a “what if…” question. There’s also a good chance I’m missing some other option. Anyway, that’s a long one from me.
Hello! Keep up the awesome work! I enjoyed each of your videos! I am about to purchase the Edifier because it seems more comfortable and durable and also with better sound in terms of quality, i think that the nc might not have significant differences and at last i prefer the edifier design (because of the shape). But I see that it does not support AAC and i run an iPhone, i am going to connect them frequently into laptop. I want to know if i can fix the most of the problem with SBC when using iPhone by optimising it using EQ. What is your opinion? 😀
Apple devices have preferential treatment toward AAC, so in this case, the Soundcore will serve you better. You could still get the Edifier (and even though technically SBC has a slightly better sample rate than AAC), but it will perform worse when paired with an iPhone. Hope that helps some!
@@gearupaaron thanks, it helps a lot, have you tried the edifier with 3.5? cuz i played fps game and if use 3.5 is it gonna sound good on iphone (im using converter), cuz i want the edifier tbh hahaha
If I have Q45 for [100%] price then WH950ND [89%] price and WB820NB [40%] price and Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 [144%] price. Which one should I choose?
Bubble great giveaway . I feel like its more simple, plus it reminds me of the Skullcandy Hesh, which I like quite a lot. Both are very decent at the end of the day , color is black
I own the JBL 660 nc Tomorrowland and they are very good, have good nc and I paid 129,00 Euro.I also have the Soundcore Q20i and for the price of 34,99 Euro they are great, with good anc. I am still looking for one with ldac support. The Soundcore Q45 looks weird on the head and the 1 More too.Might try the Edifier 950 nc and change the earcups if too warm, with cooling gel earcups.
It is a shame that there is no possibility to turn off the hear-through while having a call with Edifier, which makes them unusable in an open office environment where people around you talk and you get distracted by the voice around you...really sad, otherwise I will buy them immediately as their mic is way more natural than Soundcore's one.
Best headphones, . I feel like its more simple, plus it reminds me of the Skullcandy Hesh, which I like quite a lot. Both are very decent at the end of the day , color is black
How are the edifiers for watching movies? I have a nebula cosmos projector and having the space Q45 for movies is awesome so I wanna know how they compare.
In Movie mode, latency is pretty solid. However, I've noticed that Nebula projectors seem to bias audio towards Soundcore products. Others tend to delay more drastically somehow.
Personally, I prefer bass on the Edifier, which is smoother and more welcoming, whereas the Q45 hits lower (but doesn't slam hard for bass lovers). Hope that helps some! Thanks for watching this 🤙
@@gearupaaron What I meant was with its raw microphone audio such as recording yourself through the phone's voice recorder app. And Yep, I've already explored all of its setting. I'd say they're more than good, though in my opinion, I'm not that satisfied with its max volume and bass, but it's what you'd expect for its price.
You missed a big point in the video. Edifiers sound mich more natural and less mechanic than soundcore. Like the sound of the vocal or instruments fell more natural and realistic with edifiers and you can't fix that with eqing the soundcores.
Found your channel from your latest post on twitter talking about the contest. I would have to pick black as a color as I would get the white ones to dirty I think.
Hi Jonathan, personally neither would work for side sleeping, but I think the 950 would probably be the least intrusive. Have a great weekend and thanks for watching 🤘
Hi Aaron love watching your videos. I discovered your channel recently on twitter while scrolling through tweets, probably because I retweeted some headphones related tweets. I would love to try out the awesome Edifier headphone, 55 hours of play time is absolutely insane. The noise cancellation and mic is great too. If I win I would love the 950NB in black. Much love
@@gearupaaronok but Soundcore has more preloaded presets and genres, e.g. reading, and Edifier doesn't seem to have this....but its still better then my old Sony wh710n hehe')

Hi Aaron, I think this is the first site I have subscribed to because of the quality and tech advice. This is important question and sorry if I missed it. The Sony extra bass 910’s are on sale at more than 50% off for $120 today and the Ediphier has a $40 off coupon so they listened to you. I’ve had two pair of 910’s and I don’t return stuff. 1st pair fell in the ocean off a catamaran in Cancun. Loved them although the bass vibrated and cut out mids and highs somewhat. 2nd pair might have been a defect. feedback bass vibrations even with eq set low. Which do I replace with tomorrow at under $150 each?
Appreciate the support, Jeff - glad you found this channel! Sounds like you prefer plenty of bass for headphones, so you want to stick with the 910. Otherwise, the Edifier just feels higher end and more future-proof.
I listen to everything. Preference is rock and metal. I will try the 910’s again because they retail for $130 more than the sale, but mids and highs are important in my music. Ya had me an Edifier fan. Maybe just the Sony build quality and higher mid level retail price point says this is a deal? I understand your neutrality. Thanks for the fast response. @@gearupaaron

Why would you have a hair dryer when you have almost no hair like me (second degree humour inside) ? IMO, it always comes to what feeds your need and budget. Enjoy the new year and go on with informative content like this one !
Kinda sorta. They prefer to have their products properly delineated - eufy, Ankerworks, Anker, Nebula, Soundcore, etc. Like we don't officially call Lexus Toyotas.
My experience with the Soundcore products (Q10 Q20 Q20+ Q35 and Q45) remains constant. Just meh ANC and not so hot ambient mode. Never liked the soundcore app (just me anyway). If the Edifier was closer to $100 I'd buy right away. I just cannot find a ANC over the ear headphones that also has excellent ambient mode. My fault for being pretty deaf. Curse you all of the concerts in my 20's.
The cleer Alpha have an amazing ambient mode! Also they basically have all the top tier features most headphones have. My favorite is their conversation mode. Sounds like I dont even have headphones on
I guess as usual Edifier win in aspect of mic quality, but Soundcore is better in Noise Cancelling and Ambient Mode. Thanks for the detailed review. I just happened know this underrated tech channel when I was browsing on youtube main page after I mindlessly searching for new ANC headphones. For the colour, I like black the most, because it masks the wear and tear after certain time.
Happy you found GearUP, Bryan! Thanks for sharing your observation too - ANC is a close call depending on what sounds they're exposed to, but ambient is definitely for the Soundcore.

Thanks for the comparison! Was so happy that my fiancee got the WH950NB for me as a gift and she was able to get them on sale for only 74 USD (4,299 php) in the Philippines. What a steal! Surprisingly the Q45s were around 90usd on sale
How do you like them so far?
Welcome to the channel 🤘! Let us know what headphones you settle on - lots of folks here would like know what you think!
This is what i was founding! Thanks!
Holy cow that’s a good microphone on the Edifier
Not bad, innit?
From Edifier's retweet. Honestly I was tempted not to follow your channel thinking that's another paid review. Buy I ended up watching the all video. You clearly made your point like Leo from Kitguru. I wish I knew your channel when I had to choose between Sony and Bose. Nice work. Keep it up.
Thanks 🤘 for the props, Vale and happy you found this channel. Hope to see you around soon!
I'll be. Even for fun.
😂🤘
Did you buy the Edifier? (Guessing from you doubting whether this was a scummy paid review or not).
If so, how is it?
Couldn’t stand the q45s without the extra bass setting. Returned them. Hoping the edifiers do better
Same here.
Edifiers are much better btw!!

How do you know I'm not AI-generated? 😁
@@gearupaaron Well for starters, despite your uncanny resemblance to Jason Scott Lee, you're not a 10. Have you seen some of those AI's?
@dontsurroundurselfwithurself Maybe I should make a quasi Jason Scott Lee avatar as my digital presenter, but with my voice. 🤔
Yo! Excelent review i enjoy watching tech videos and thats how i found your channel and got addicted to your videos (excelent reviews, comparasons and tests, and very enjoyable too). Most of the time these products are out of my finantial reach (i use the haylou gt1 that i boght in 2020) but now, i have a little hope to get ones and tried them my self, if so i like the black ones.
Keep up the good work Aaron!!.

Hairdryer test, great idea!!
It's like a wind tunnel for the home, lol!
Where is this recorded? I like the scenery or land, I think I saw a creek or pond in the back.
Oh ok, now I got to that part, nevermind
Hi, great review. Continue in headphones reviews.
TH-cam showed me your channel when I found some headphones reviews.
I prefer black color.
Nice review. Call quality seems really good.
Definitely different tuning between each other, but the 950NB sounds richer to me.
Edifier’s mic is loud and clear! SC’s sounds painful, I’d feel bad for the others on the other end of the call.
Same dilemma. Still not seeing anything or any experiences from users that will make me choose one over the other :( I really need help
Are you asking about bass quality too? If so, I just replied to another person below with my thoughts on that.
The edifier wh950nb seems to be a good alternative that's on par with the sony variant!! Been looking for headphones now but I'll try my luck here too
Don't worry, there are more giveaways coming up 😎
Hi, could I ask you for your opinion?
Thanks for your question... No, the only way to mute is directly from the app you're using for the call.
@@gearupaaron Thank you for the quick reply. A lot of 'work from home' people would benefit from that functionality, but unfortunately, it is missing.
Recently I was reading TWS reviews on reddit when I saw that someone recommends your channel. I checked out some videos and subscribed. Currently still in search for a good TWS that would uncover the market to me, an iem user.
Sorry for the belated response... Yours got lost in the shuffle 😔. Appreciate you watching this, btw. Have you narrowed down your TWS selection yet?
That’s a solid review. I’m in the middle of selecting a good pair of all around muffs, got tired of in ears tbh. Right now WH950 are equivalent of 110 vs 120 USD for Q45. Which one would You pulled the trigger on in this case? Any other favourites in the price range under 150?
Really depends on your priority - like, are you needing ANC, sound, comfort, so on and so forth.
As they are targeted to
Jack of all trades - being used in and outdoors - think a “nice” ANC would be nice.
Gotcha. I think you'll be happy with either especially if there's a $10 difference between the two where you're at. I'd probably do the same. 😎
Tbh found u by accident , but dang such good and detailed review and quality , u finna get more subs soon dude. Hope I cop those headphones.
Yeah, Gagan! Thank you for your subs and the props 🤘🔥
Very nice review. 👍🏽
Thanks for watching, sir! 😁
You're amazing! Thanks for the review
Thanks for watching - happy you enjoyed it. Do come on back for new videos every week! 😁
Interesting! Versus the $150 sony 720n headphones?
I had a (really) brief listen to the Sony and found ANC way superior but SQ not as rich.
How do you turn the noise cancellation on when you're not touching any buttons while you're videotaping
The app 😎
so for iphone user which one the best? should i go with soundcore cuz its have aac? but what if i use edifier with equalizer is it still good?
Apple devices have preferential treatment toward AAC, so in this case, the Soundcore will serve you better. You could still get the Edifier (and even though technically SBC has a slightly better sample rate than AAC), but it will perform worse when paired with an iPhone. Hope that helps some!
@@gearupaaron thanks, it helps a lot, have you tried the edifier with 3.5? cuz i played fps game and if use 3.5 is it gonna sound good on iphone (im using converter), cuz i want the edifier tbh hahaha

I had to subscribe now as he said this is the best TH-cam channel.
It's just hearsay, lol! Still, glad you made it here... Welcome to the GearUP fam! 🤘🔥
It is a shame that there is no possibility to turn off the hear-through while having a call with Edifier, which makes them unusable in an open office environment where people around you talk and you get distracted by the voice around you...really sad, otherwise I will buy them immediately as their mic is way more natural than Soundcore's one.
Fwiw, you can adjust the strength of the hear-through from within the app. Level 1 is pretty soft. Hope that helps some! Thanks for watching, btw 😁
Best headphones, . I feel like its more simple, plus it reminds me of the Skullcandy Hesh, which I like quite a lot. Both are very decent at the end of the day , color is black
Thanks for sharing your experience! Can't believe the Hesh still goes for $100 on Amazon 😧
as a Q45 owner - what would you say is the best eq setting? and do you have your own eq settings you would like to share with us? greets Wouter
For testing purposes, I leave mine in the default factory setting, as the company intended, lol.
@@gearupaaron good to know. Thanks for the video.
@@gearupaaron most of the time I’m using the nebula with my ps4 to watch Blu-ray’s so I usually just use an aux cable.

who is best for bass edifier or soundcore? reply plz
Personally, I prefer bass on the Edifier, which is smoother and more welcoming, whereas the Q45 hits lower (but doesn't slam hard for bass lovers). Hope that helps some! Thanks for watching this 🤙
My WH950NBs won't cancel background noise as to how it does to yours. Is there a setting that will change it? Got this pair just now.
You mean for active noise cancelling or phone calls? Have you been able to play with the settings in the app?
@@gearupaaron What I meant was with its raw microphone audio such as recording yourself through the phone's voice recorder app. And Yep, I've already explored all of its setting. I'd say they're more than good, though in my opinion, I'm not that satisfied with its max volume and bass, but it's what you'd expect for its price.
Which one should i go if they both offering same price discount?
Depends on your criteria/priorities in a headphone.
I'm wondering how the XROUND Voca Max compares to these two
How much would you price the edifier, I'm a retailer looking to price it
In the $145-155 range, since it's new. Never been asked that question before, so a million life points for you, lol!
@@gearupaaron Thanks I saw some retailers selling the Q45 for 90$ and my whole world collapsed😱
Oooff, that's quite the bargain
You missed a big point in the video. Edifiers sound mich more natural and less mechanic than soundcore. Like the sound of the vocal or instruments fell more natural and realistic with edifiers and you can't fix that with eqing the soundcores.
Which one is the best for an iPhone please reply❤️
Found your channel from your latest post on twitter talking about the contest. I would have to pick black as a color as I would get the white ones to dirty I think.
Fwiw, it's easy enough to clean. Don't ask me how I found out 😁 ... Anyway, happy you found this channel and thanks for your comment 🤘
no AAC on the edifier is really a bummer. I was considering to get it, but maybe not

How do the Q45’s compare to athm50bt ?
If I want to lay in bed with one of these on, which is more likely to handle some side-sleeping position listening?
Hi Jonathan, personally neither would work for side sleeping, but I think the 950 would probably be the least intrusive. Have a great weekend and thanks for watching 🤘
Help me out guys. I need pros and cron. Im confused which one to pick. Edifier wh950nb, jbl tune 770nc or sony ch720n.
Much love
Happy your found this channel! Black is a good color for these 950s 😎
Do you use android or iPhone? Cause I have an iPhone and I don’t know if they will work with an iPhone.
@Jennie-gj1kb i mean it uses Bluetooth so any device with Bluetooth will work
Good review. But why you don't show soundcore app??
IIRC, I did a deep dive in either the Q30 and/or Q35 video. The app functions are fundamentally the same.
@@gearupaaronok but Soundcore has more preloaded presets and genres, e.g. reading, and Edifier doesn't seem to have this....but its still better then my old Sony wh710n hehe')
Soft sound bluetooth, I found this channel because of the review you do, the color I want is black
If one only prefer sound quality and wider sound stage which one will you recommend?
Tough one because the Edifier has better SQ (to me) and the Soundcore has a wider soundstage.
*DR. AMAR BOSE
In the 1970s, Dr. Amar Bose, the founder of Bose Corporation, invented the first prototype noise-cancelling headphones after being frustrated by the engine noise on a transatlantic flight. Bose's first commercial ANC headset, the Series I Aviation Headset, was released in 1989.
We appreciate you fact-correcting a joke intro. 😁 Nonetheless, Mr. Bose was cool for his contribution to the audio industry.
Is the edifier foam pads replaceable like their other offerings?
Yes, it snaps right off!
I came across your channel because most videos i watch are mostly about tech. It sometimes come up as recommended but this video in particular i searched cause i was looking for a comparison between both these headphones specifically. I do hope i win. id like the white one please. Even if its the one you’re using. I don’t mind if its 2nd hand. Thank you!
Despite anc, how is it compare to Ath m50x bt2
You mean SQ-wise? Audio-Technica trumps it.

The company's name is Anker and not Soundcore. Like Galaxy is by Samsung, likewise Soundcore is by Anker.
Kinda sorta. They prefer to have their products properly delineated - eufy, Ankerworks, Anker, Nebula, Soundcore, etc. Like we don't officially call Lexus Toyotas.
Sounded like the Soundcore has much better noise cancelling.
What about Google Fast Pair?
Yes it does, Saeed. Thanks for your question!
Soundcore has an app too 🤔
Yup, I covered the app in detail in prior Soundcore videos, so didn't feel like repeating myself. Thanks for watching this!
I'm sure those concerts were worth it, right? You're right that good ambient is really hard to find even in 2023.
The cleer Alpha have an amazing ambient mode! Also they basically have all the top tier features most headphones have. My favorite is their conversation mode. Sounds like I dont even have headphones on
