    I was at this game and I remember this happening. Half the fun of this moment was the way Pedro reacted to the sprinklers.

    Pedro is enjoying it. Hot day, a little run through the sprinklers can be fun.

    three years later I saw just about the exact opposite. the construction crews building Citi Field punched a hole in the water main serving Shea. So instead of getting too much water, the field couldn't get any, the grounds crew couldn't do their jobs, and a game I raced to to make first pitch got delayed about 45 minutes. (and the bathrooms above the Loge deck stopped working)

    wasn't this the same game as mike camerons sick catch in the outfield? the one where he slipped and fell but still caught it?

    Being the pitcher who pitched more innings than any other man who took that mound at Shea, I'm surprised Seaver didn't elaborate on whether this had happened before.

    • @andrewpadaetz5549
      @andrewpadaetz5549 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I stand corrected..he did say he had never seen this. Then again, I don't think such a mechanism existed back when Seaver was pitching in Flushing..had to use the old garden hoses back then.
