If it makes you feel better about burning your fish, I would rather have burnt meat than undercooked meat because it's less of a risk of getting sick. :3
Anytime my mom has burned a meat and felt bad, I have told her I don't mind because it's more flavor, lol. And I genuinely mean it. I'll pick those pieces and eat them willingly, because I like the smokey flavor.

I like to think you made eye contact with your husband as you added more sakura-denbu to the bento and actually said "please like sakura-denbu better" to him 😂 The thought just popped into my head and made me laugh!
Kiki's Delivery Service is one of those films that I always forget just how much I love it until I watch it again. I also found my perspective changing as I got older. I relate much more to Kiki now, as an adult, then I really did when I was younger. The TH-cam channel "Cinema Therapy" did a very interesting review on Kiki from a mental health perspective. Now I'd also like to watch it again. I have been learning Japanese (slowly), so I hope that I will someday be able to watch it without the need for subtitles or dubbing! Beef tongue is soooooo delicious! I've never had it in a stew, though, now I want to try. Where I live, we usually boil it with some vegetables and then eat it with a sauce similar to tartare sauce (but with LOTS of pickles and capers inside the sauce)

In the UK, beef tongue is sold pressed and sliced thinly as a sandwich filling. It's very tasty. Thank you for your videos which are always positive.

This was a wonderful video! Such a good idea, and the food looked sooooooo good!! The Christmas Day stew looked especially good. My family is quite traditional about Christmas so we always have a turkey so I always find it interesting when people have other things for their Christmas dinner. I asked for and received a bento box and cook book for Christmas and I was feeling overwhelmed by what to do and make. Thank you I now feel inspired and look forward to watching what you make. Your videos make me chuckle. I plan to visit Japan for the first time next year and as a Studio Ghibli fan I plan to try out a few of these recipes. Wishing you all the best for 2024.
I write in my diary every day and the thing that helped my was buying the 5 year memory book. It is a diary provided for 5 years, so every page for particular day is divided for 5 sections. You write about the day and then go to another page. When the year ends well you start again- from the beginning. And you can see what you wrote the previous year! it is great thing to motivate you. I highly recommend - I already started my 4th year in it. And if i wasnt writing every day about particlar day I wouldnt even remember how I felt or what hapenned. Good luck! Happy New Year !!! This was so lovely everything looked so good. If you love beef tongue try it a la vinagreta ( vinager sauce) as someone else has commented. In my country this means a sour savoury sauce made with white wine or apple vinegar, lots of fresh chopped parsley and maybe capers, garlic and hard boiled eggs grated or chopped.
I'm not a big movie-goer, so haven't seen any of the films that you referenced. But your re-creations were fabulous! The sliding cat was hilarious, and your stew looked mouthwatering. I hope you and yours are all safe after the quake. Be safe in 2024!

Oohh, this was not a video I would have expected! These recreations were great! And, while I'm not great at cooking, I might have to give that stew a shot. That looked so thick and hearty and perfect for these colder months at the start of the year (I live in the south of the United States, so winter takes a moment to really get going, lol).

In Italy beef tongue Is common expecially in Centre of the country and at North. Usually Is boiler and served with a green sauce but also some red one (made with dried tomatoes) but I never tried this last one... It depends on the region you live.

I just watched a video of someone's trip to the Ghibli Theme Park!
It would be great if you could become a chef for the theme park!
It has been a while since I have had a chance to comment, it has been a very busy year! The oldest boy was out the rest of the baseball season with an injury, but he's all healed up now and ready to play in the spring. My mother also has recovered from battling cancer and is doing well now. Most exciting, though, we have started the process of house hunting! We hope to find a house with some land so we can have a big vegetable garden, some fruit trees, and raise goats for some healthy meat, in addition to the chickens.

Can I Request a Dish from Spirited Away, I think it’s called Banquet Chicken or Banquet Cornish Hen. It’s always been my Most Favorite Scene from Spirited Away next to Ponyo’ s Ramen 🍜 Scene, every Spring I watch Ponyo and make Homemade Ramen from Scratch using a Whole Chicken Roasted in the Oven with the Deli Think Ham and Egg and Onions 🧅, I use Sweet Onions in my Ramen Recipe and I chop up some of the White Meat of the Oven Roasted Chicken and some of the Dark Meat too and let the Chicken Sink to the bottom of the Bowl and then Assemble my Ramen Noodles and Soup Base and Eggs and Fried Sweet Onions and sometimes I use some Fresh Double Color Corn the White and Yellow kind in my Ramen too just to mix things up a little bit. It’s always so Good and Calming to me especially while watching Ponyo too.
