• Track is returned to its optimal condition every 12 to 15 year cycle making it a safer, reliable and more efficient railway.
• Continued preventative maintenance, including tamping while the timber sleepers are still in good condition, keeps the track in optimum condition for longer.
• Cyclical re-sleepering delivers a sustainable outcome and cost efficiencies.
Replacing only failed sleepers in a reactive manner is not effective, sustainable or cost efficient.
It is for these reasons Brookfield Rail recommends that capital investment for the cyclical re-sleepering of all lines including Tier 3 grain lines is critical to the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the rail network.
