We really enjoyed Rancho Oso RV & Camping Resort...we hope you enjoy the tour! Yes, we screwed up the date on the second day...should have read June 9th...human moment! Paul & Lorena
Here I am loaded with campground suggestions now that you're well beyond your stay along this part of the CA coast. On your way from Santa Barbara to Pismo, there is another "incredible" and secluded campground you might add to your Places-To-VIsit list for next time. It's called Jalama Beach. There is NO cell service. You'll find a phone on a telephone pole for calls :) There are sites with electric and water and they have a dump station you have to drive over to. Fees are $50-ish, AND YOU CAN RESERVE A SPOT BOARDERING THE ACTUAL BEACH. This little gem is just that, a gem. You'll never forget it. THey also have a small general store, well stocked, that aslo includes a grill that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner until 6:30-ish. I bet they'll accomodate your dietary requirements. Too bad you don't eat beef because the Jalama burger is really good. At the risk of repeating myself, I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you in San Diego, hope to see you again, and wish you Happy travels!
Thanks for the video. We used to live in Santa Barbara and then Santa Maria. It's such a beautiful area. We haven't been there for over 25 years. We will definitely be back!
We did the same route as you back in late December. We stayed at Rio Oso then boogied up to Pacific Dunes outside of Pismo. We are retired, but didn't like not having cell service at Rio Oso Pacific Dunes is a nice campground. Safe travels 😊🇺🇸
Finally Mollie and I are getting ti start our full time journey thanks to y'all and a few other channels we watch. But your channel was the first and gave us (me lol) the idea of full time travel. Were hanging around the local Corp of engineers campgrounds and then 1 September, well be heading north to catch the fall leaves of Michigan! Hope we bump into y'all when we travel. Paul you and I share the same birthday bud. Take care and safe travels! The Hewitts.
Rancho Oso is one place where I want to go. Really great visual of the campground ? Still stuck in the Soledad Canyon TT, but will finally be pulling up anchor soon..Probably in October.. Can't wait. Safe travels
Hi guys, the wife and I love watching you!! Gotta correct something tho brother, SOCAL is NOT wine country, they just have vineyards and make wine. NAPA is THE wine country. 🤘🇺🇸👍🤜🤛
Great video of both resorts. We are headed to Pacific Dunes soon. An update for Rancho Oso as of March 2020, with Verizon, we had LTE and about 2 to 3 bars. Not great, but enough to get emails and make calls. :)
Wow--looks like the mini-golf had fresh felt. PRETTY Thousand Trails! Now that you know you like ping-pong--you are ready for pickleball!! Like ping-pong on steroids. :)
Rancho Oso is awesome! Can campers ride the horses? Can anyone stay there or do you have to be a Thousand Trails member? I can’t see tenters joining TT. I think Lorena was fibbing when she said she’s never played ping pong. Cool filming on the dunes. Wow that looked like more than a mile to the beach.
I believe they have horseback riding activities Cecilia. Not sure about being a TT member, but it seem they are allowing people to stay at a lot of their parks without being members now. Take care!
Paul, you NEED a RAZOR "side-by-side", to DO those dunes, dude ......... (I mean, IF you still CAN'T sell Lorena on the "boat thing" ).... hee hee ,....
What!? I'll check it. Amazon must have changed it...this is the one I have amzn.to/2l7Ny5y but there are others as well. Just make sure you have 30amp or 50amp depending on your RV...Safe travels Bob and Tam!

I have very good experiences in the thousand trails and encore campgrounds I like Pismo beach area
appreciate your in depth look at what the campground had.

also for meat eaters if your stay at Camp Oso, Cold Springs Tavern is very worth the stop. Just across the highway from Cam Oso
That's what we heard! We'll have to check it out next time!
Great video! Too funny with the sand!!
Thanks Ruben!
Wow, Rancho Oso looks great. Thanks for the tour, y'all!
Wow they are time travelers.
I know, I started counting backwards to the date, but I knew it was only the 2nd, because it was my husband's birthday. ;)
Yep, should have been June...or was it July!? Lol!
Rancho Oso is one place where I want to go. Really great visual of the campground ? Still stuck in the Soledad Canyon TT, but will finally be pulling up anchor soon..Probably in October.. Can't wait. Safe travels
Yo Mike! Haven't seen you here in a while!? I hope all is well in your world! Safe travels!
Hi guys, the wife and I love watching you!! Gotta correct something tho brother, SOCAL is NOT wine country, they just have vineyards and make wine. NAPA is THE wine country. 🤘🇺🇸👍🤜🤛
You are correct, NAPA is THE wine country. I guess I should have said California has several wine areas. Temecula, Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, etc
8:32 July 9, 2019 time travel is possible already?
He had a senior moment, he meant June. At 0:19 the video said June 8-9
Alan is correct...should have read June 9th...human moment! Sorry!
Great video of both resorts. We are headed to Pacific Dunes soon. An update for Rancho Oso as of March 2020, with Verizon, we had LTE and about 2 to 3 bars. Not great, but enough to get emails and make calls. :)
We wish we had known about that park at the dunes. We just kept rolling looking for a pull off close by. Sigh !!!
We do that same thing sometimes!
Hi Lorena & Paul "Happy 4TH of July " !!
Happy belated 4th to you Bob!
Check out Jalama it's on the beach
Several people have mentioned it, but we'll have to check it out next time through. Thanks for sharing!
Wow--looks like the mini-golf had fresh felt. PRETTY Thousand Trails! Now that you know you like ping-pong--you are ready for pickleball!! Like ping-pong on steroids. :)
We have to work on our games before we take you guys on! Lol!

Paul if you ever open your own RV campground , I'm thinking it might be a little like this one.
Yeah , got you written all over it.
I would like something a little more tropical...with a motocross track...maybe go-carts...live music venue...big lake for kiteboarding! Lmao!
objects (the Beach) are closed than they appear.
Paul, you NEED a RAZOR "side-by-side", to DO those dunes, dude ......... (I mean, IF you still CAN'T sell Lorena on the "boat thing" ).... hee hee ,....
Too funny Don! Lol!
I agree with you Rick! Lol!
cool video talk
Thanks Scotty!
your welcome
I'm sorry but your John Wayne impersonation sounds more like a French Canadian!😂 🇨🇦
Lol!
Very nice RV park. Do they allow jeeps on the beach?
In certain parts Steve...they have an entire area dedicated to off-roading.
your surge protector link doesn't work
What!? I'll check it. Amazon must have changed it...this is the one I have amzn.to/2l7Ny5y but there are others as well. Just make sure you have 30amp or 50amp depending on your RV...Safe travels Bob and Tam!
Hi guys!! Great video! How is the road to Rancho Oso? I read from others it can be a bit dicey in an RV, which is why we haven’t stayed there yet.
It's narrow, but very passable. If you meet another RV, it's VERY narrow!
still no price on camp site?
We don't pay anything at Thousand Trails.
July 9th! What!!!
Yeah, I screwed up the date. June 9th.
You rolled out of the resort on july 9th....
Who makes your RV? Delorean. 😂
Lol, yeah a little keyboard error!
@@LifeWithPaulLorena LOLOL ...
Did you go to cold springs tavern
We didn't know about it until after we left! Next time!
she so cute good for your first time
She did okay, didn't she!?
Oh I get it, Paul had an old fart moment there! Lol!
Yep! Lol!
Yes you sounded like John Wayne..lol
Lol!
Lorena, you and I would be equally matched ping pong players, 🏓
Lol!
