WOW!!! This is one of my FAVORITE TABLES EVER!!!! Those wings came out AMAZING!!! And the way you get shadows on the hexagons when you move it around... and just like you said, the deeper things in the diorama look more out of focus.... You managed to showcase SO MANY unique techniques in this one small table that I am blown away that they ALL came out as well as they did!!! You ROCK my man!!!!

OMG it is amazing! I love the wings and the colors. I showed this to my children and said oh how I would love a table from the donkey. They said now they have birthday ideas. I would love a Brazilian rainbow boa one like this. I am putting that idea on their heads lol

I wish drum sander paper was easier to change... even just going up to 100 makes a difference in ease of sanding after. I did a high chair and send every piece thru on 100 grit right after the table saw (not a lot of material just saw marks) and it greatly reduced the hand sanding I had to do

This is an incredible piece. I have a question about the hard wax oil, though, and the epoxy. I have tried the same thing in the past, sanding to 240 and then applying the oil. I always take my time to avoid swirls in the sanding, and have even tried wet sanding after to 320. However, you can always see the scratches in the epoxy once I add the oil. Do you have any suggestions?

I’ve never had the issue even back in my cheaper sander days. I did so and clean my paper every foot or so though. Good hard wax, good sandpaper is my best guesses.

I will be willing to guess that the design choice for cabinets in your garage or because they remodeled the kitchen and couldn’t get rid of the old cabinets. Husband said I’m gonna use those in my workshop. I’m not getting rid of those good cabinets and Viola!

UV Resin would work better than hot glue.

In my limited experience with it, it’s only better for things where you can get the UV to it to cure it. So under something with solid colors didn’t work well, but I did try it first

Probably
